    If in fact the watch is real, it is made of 18k white gold. Sand really scratches it up. I cried when he kept rubbing the sand accross the crystal and the sides.

    i was diving in Key West with some friends. A lot of barricuda were around so one of them took his gold wedding band off and was handing it to his daughter in the boat when it slipped out of her hand. We knew about where it landed in 40' of water. We all started looking for it and i found what i thought was his band but after getting back in the boat realized it wasn't his but fit him perfectly. His had initials inside and the one we found didn't.

    • @DIRTDIGGERDAN
      @DIRTDIGGERDAN  10 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks Julie. It really depends on the beach conditions to what you find sometimes the older stuff will be there if there's been a good storm and has stripped the sand back. I've had a few Victoria coins before in really nice condition. And some jewellery from the 20s but yes the large part is more modern and if I get for some fish and chips at the end its been a good fun day. All the best and thanks for watching.

    I've had it in my mind to get into metal detecting for a few years but never have. This was an Excellent watch Dan. Nearest beach to me is 50 plus miles away as I live between Skipton and Colne. I very nearly bought a Minelab X-terra which was on facebook market place brand new in the box for £225 very local to me. Woman selling it said in her ad that it was a raffle win. It clearly hadn't been used. I see in your description above the Deus2. I'll assume that's what your using in this vid. It's vids like this that inspire me. I don't have several hundred pounds to spare for the top detectors. I did recently buy a ebay Gp pointer after watching several vids on them and I can't believe how good it is for the £12 I paid for it. I make a lot of stuff out of used timber so running the GP Pointer over it is a must if your going to use a planer so to not catch hidden nails/screws. I can't believe top make ones can be £150 and no better. Mine picks up before a friends F-pulse. That peed him off lol. Thanks for some much needed inspiration Dan. I've subscribed and will watch more of your vids. Thanks!

    • @DIRTDIGGERDAN
      @DIRTDIGGERDAN  10 месяцев назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching and subscribing. Yes I'm currently using the xp deus 2 but I started out with the garrett ace 250. Not a bad machine back in its day and it got me hooked on detecting. One thing I'd say with this hobby is over time and if you put the time in it will pay for your equipment. My last two detectors have paid for themselves. I actually have a two hour drive to my closest beach but the way I see it. I'm out in the fresh air doing something relaxing, exiting and enjoyable the if I find something its a bounce. If I was you just trying and get a good second hand they do hold their price better the most items but you can still pick up a bargain every now and then. Good luck and thanks for watching.

      Never left anything on the beach ever ie junk, but would love to find something interesting like you do.
      Years ago I bought a Patek Philip in a box of bits in a junk shop, buttons, rings etc. Everything was grubby and sticky as if child had put sweet in it which had dissolved and turned everything black inc box too. knew rings gold as used long nails to scrape a tiny bit off ea. Quick scrape of gunky face, was Patek Phillipe. Asked how much, said was only rubbish, Paid £5. Cleaned everything up plat eternity ring with diamond missing, rings 15 & think 18ct. Felt guilt although had bought a ring at two thousand, never had engagement ring.
      Watch was immaculate when gently cleaned, not a scratch.
      Oblong surrounded with diamonds.
      Not all good things work out.
      Arrived at sisters one day she was cleaning to paper, course I got under stairs, caught watch diamond came out, searched, never found it. She's very talented, insisted I leave it so she would put a Swarovski in, you don't argue with her though I didn't want to but sounds pathetic, no option.
      Not mentioned next week, asked her following week, her response, what watch.
      Showed picture of me wearing it. Denied having, her daughter said, Mum don't you remember you said you could sort it? Started on her, threw me out for accusing her, told me not to come back.
      When it first happened, I said look I'd prefer to take it it's a Patek Phillipe, response never heard of it yet worked in a high end jewellery shop for her sister in law.
      I had a guy feeling, knew I couldn't trust her which is Very sad as it affected our other siblings, and it as definitely a Patek Phillipe particularly going by the rings, in fact, even by the buttons which were the extra buttons you get off expensive clothes!
      That's the person I loaned 6'000 towards a car and was paid back over 2 years.
      Don't you wish you'd listed more to your Mum?
      I certainly do, she warned me often enough!

    Just FYI when you wear rings on hand you use pinpointer… the sensitivity is lower because it balances when you turn it on… take ring off and test how close you get then put rings back on and turn pointer on. Then take ring and see how close you get before it beeps. You’ll notice it needs to be closer before it beeps.

    • @DIRTDIGGERDAN
      @DIRTDIGGERDAN  11 месяцев назад +1

      I've used it with them on and off and haven't really noticed a difference. On the garrett carrot you can use a ring or your hand digger to increase the depth of your pinpointer.

    • @haastnation9922
      @haastnation9922 9 месяцев назад

    If it's a super clone it's still a nice watch and not cheap. That being said, if you're the guy that wore that to the beach and subsequently lost it, real or not, you don't deserve it.

      @@Jules-vt6dh sure, that seems logical. however, it decreases the value of the watch significantly. in some cases, by tens of thousands of dollars.

      @@DIRTDIGGERDAN given that it was still running when you found it, it's been there less than 3-4 days max. Your camera was really out of focus and the face of the watch could not be made out. Can you post an update with clearer vid?

      @@bobbyshaftoeIt's an automatic watch. It winds when it's moved. He said the date was wrong, so if he paid attention to that, you could ballpark when it was lost.

    That watch is fake. The movement second hand would sweep a lot better than that in a £175-200K Patek Philippe watch. The movement itself in the back wouldn't look like that with big ugly blue screws and thirdly the owner would have hired a local detectorist to find it in the area he would have been sat in if it was the real deal.
