I was about halfway through the video and started commenting about digging the low tones because I smell a gold coin and as I was commenting dude pulled that gold 1$ piece. Lol.

It was possibly a water stop for early settlers and civil war soldiers

the soil treated the copper coins very well dang
The ones in the water were in amazing condition, the ground was not fertilized over the years, so it didn't eat away at the Coppers.

When they dig them up and you reach in and pick it up before they do is insane!!..like let them enjoy the find!!.. you tell the guy to hold his gold coin and literally 2 seconds later you take it out of his hand..
I think that I counted at least 4 finds, 3 coins and the token that had a hole drilled through it. Thoughts on that?
We were told people back then didn't always have pockets in their clothes so they would sew them on to keep from losing them

Anybody who actually finds this kind of stuff knows it’s real. The only haters will be the ones who don’t. I pride myself in sniffing out faked stuff and this isn’t it.

I would be putting in more time there with bigger coils and maxed out settings at the end. I would also think that the water has a better chance for jewelry drops. Totally agree but please consider the use the word ‘hate’ when you mean people doubting the integrity of the hunt. It only encourages the authorities to expand the use of the word Hate to include pretty well anything.

I've always wanted to metal detect but I don't know what metal detector to buy or the best brand . My dad used to metal detect but he would use the cheapest ones he could find. Thank you guys. ❤😊
Hey Brian, there is no best brand, they all have entry-level to high end detectors. It depends on what you're willing to spend. They all detect metal, but some are better at discriminating, and depth then others. Don't buy off Amazon or a retail store. If you are looking for a reputable dealer that can help you and answer any questions, I can put you in touch with who we deal with.

You Guys are Professional,s why I never see anyone Carry a small Jar of water, I mean a Babys jar, I have put big coins in it, washes off the mud.
I don't know if I'd call us professionals. The spray bottle seems to do the trick, but we can always try the small jar of water, thanks.
Great assortment of old coins on that hunt! The "gold coin" is most likely a counterfeit or a token, definitely not an 1864 gold dollar. Still a cool find though.

Personally I’d rather have the early American silver than a Spanish Reale, but that’s just me.
Yes Doug, I have yet to find a Reale myself but would much rather find old American silver coins.

Great hunt. Unfortunately that 'gold' coin is a counterfeit. And not just because it doesn't have that gold color. That is the Liberty-head design and they stopped making that style in 1854. The reverse has extra material on the wreath also from it being cast instead of struck with a die. Still could be worth some $ though. Congrats on a great hunt!

I cant find any coins from 1864 that are gold with stars on the front and reverse. I think its a counterfeit and not a real gold coin. Didnt have the normal gold color either that you find coming out of the ground
