Yep! You hit the mail on the head. The AT Pro is not that hard to set up if you know what you are doing. You hit all the key points. I would recommend everyone follow your advice to a T. The key to ocean hunting is to manually ground balance after you first auto ground balance it and to tune it to less than what it reads into auto by about 3 points or thereabouts. The ATP should then run quiet or just minimum noise. It works best in flat calm swimming areas. Wear Grey Ghost earphones instead of the crappy blue ones Garrett sells. GL & HH!
Great info! Been working with AT Pro for a long time, great machine but never reset it yet.. Couple of tips for yall: Number 9 clean your coil protector, especially after a water or sea search. Number 10 switch off your mobile phone (double usefull cause your lady can't mess up your search session :)) Number 11 high voltage cables might disturb your signals.. Happy hunting..
Thanks so much. I brought my AT Pro with me to the UK and after detecting in saltwater (bad idea with this machine, obviously) it started giving me chatter. The chatter never went away. With your permission, I'd like to make a video explaining these steps on how to fix it to my subscribers, and of course i'd give you full credit as you deserve it. Please let me know, I want to go detecting tomorrow here in the UK before i head back to the states, thanks!
Thanks for this! Very helpful! One more to add might be the simplest explanation of all...replace your batteries. I've had weird chatter start up before only to realize that my battery bars were running low.
Great video. I have the at pro and still getting used to. My first detector was an ace 250 and I SWEAR I've found more stuff with. Obviously still learning the at pro
Great stuff. I get a lot of chatter on my at. I use some of those but forgot about the reset and the frequency change! Thanks. Heading out this weekend!
I want to thank you for your tips that are very helpful loose connector that's all it was your awesome something simple as that overlook still learning
If you have some cousins from Chadbourn, N.C. You and I might be cousins. There are a lot of Andrews running around both North and South Carolina I have never met! I live in South Florida and hunt the beaches every 2-3 days. Not a lot of treasure, but every now and then a ring will turn up.
Great video thanks for the info I started having a problem with my AT PRO, yesterday every time I would set it down to dig a target it would shut off, has anyone had this problem ? and I also put new batteries in and it still cut off any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, ( I also subbed your channel )
I have had a couple of the stock coils go bad. I have an NEL right now and has lasted longer than the stock coil. Hitting rocks underwater does not help!
@@bbushert It's on there pretty tight. You have to work it off a little bit at a time as you go around the perimeter. If there's sand grains between the coil and cover it'll be even tighter. So be patient.
Thanks. However, I turned my at max on with no coil even connected and it was making the same noises. Factory reset does nothing. I guess the control box is euchered

Thank you holding the power button to reset it fixed my buzzing noise!!!!!🎉 subscribed
Thanks! Excellent advice on the manual ground balance....I'm going to try that next time at an ocean beach.
I had this machine for two a half years great info never stop learning thanks alote
I like the “coin” setting. I found hundreds of pieces of aluminum pop cans .
Dont use the coin setting. You will find nothing that way
Hilarious
Thank you for sharing those 8 ideas. Very useful and very easy.
Great video. You helped me figure out my issue while at the beach. You saved my day man. Truly a great video.
Thanks!
Good tips! I like the loose cable tip...
Thank you for the info I just purchased a machine and thought it was broken all it needed was a reset
Thanks so much I reset it and changed frequency and it's fine.
I want to thank you for your tips that are very helpful loose connector that's all it was your awesome something simple as that overlook still learning
Good to hear! How many people have sent their detector in for repair when it was a simple problem!
I use that chatter as a ringtone on my phone.
Greetings from Newport News! I really appreciate these tips. I am not digging yet but am considering this detector or the AT Max.
Thanks...great info !!!
You are the man sir you taught me and my father so much
Just in this one video thank you
My pleasure!

Just got my new AT Max today after upgrading from my ACE 250. It has a LOT of chatter which brought me here. You find a way to tame it?
Thanks 😍😍
Great video!
Thanks!
Great Video! Thanks!!
You're welcome!
Some good info thanks for the video.
Hope it helps!!
Great tips!
Note: my pro would shut off when I laid it down. Sent it in and AT reworked the whole unit free of charge. Now that’s customer support!
Sir Thanks! Excellent .
Great tips.
Thanks wingman!
GREAT tips THANKS and THANKS for all YOUR videos THERE great.
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this video. I ordered an AT PRO yesterday. Wondering how long it will take to figure out all the settings etc...
If your coils cracked. This wont work. But check the coil. That's another one. That was my problem yesterday.
Great tips, thanks!
Great Video, Gig! I've been missing your videos and was worried about you. But ends up i was unsubsidized, somehow. Fixed that!
Thanks a lot. I needed to see this. I have a White's XLT. Do you have a video for those?

Great video, thank you very much.
Very helpful thanks
I assume since my at max even goes crazy when there is no coil connected. I assume the control box is euchered eh?
gig master is that a Nel hunter coil
Add sand and dirt in your coil cover.
I had similarly problem
with 2 detector
no more garret at max
my next nox 800
Me too
i can't ground balance on ace300i
Just got my at pro .wish waited for the max.does the pro go on salt waters
It is very chattery around salt water. All the Garrett machines are. You can ground balance and cut sensitivity down and use it just not as effective.
great video ..
i had some that the cabel to the coil was broken , it gave the same effect totaly haewire
I will keep my eye out for that too!

Check the pod that the batteries go in for a loose wire/ connection
@@Gigmaster ok I will try that, Thanks for your help
The coil cover 2 when you're hunting at the beach and sand and other things get trapped between the coil and the cover so cleaning that out may help
Hi Gigmaster do you change your coil on a regular basis? And how long does a coil last normally?
Thanks Ben
I have had a couple of the stock coils go bad. I have an NEL right now and has lasted longer than the stock coil. Hitting rocks underwater does not help!
Does using a different frequency put less depth on your machine?
I'm new I did it 🤪
My at pro is acting weird when I plug in the headphones. Any advice.
Borrow someones else’s headphones and see if you get the same result.
Shouldnt your cable be closer to shaft...yours is just flappin around
big like
HardDiscount - please share, it could save someone from sending the detector back to get repaired like I did!
I got a garrett ace 150 that just clicks nothing else no screen nothing any ideas
Send it back!
@@Gigmaster i got it for free so dont have a receipt or anything
Number 10. Remove the coil cover and clean it and the bottom of the coil.
How do you remove the coil cover

I had the misfortune to buy one of these machines from eBay £649 what a overpriced piece of junk I sold it after two detecting trips for £300 🤬
I did the same thing only more $ I was stupid enough to buy the AT Max :(
I know how to get rid of the chatter junk it.
Great tips - thank you!
