Thank you for listening to the interview. I was surprised to get the invitation to be on the show, what an honor. I hope you liked it. Thank you for watching and for your support.
I love information videos. They helped me out so much when I was starting out. Thank you for making this video. What a great way to give back to the community too. The AT Pro is a great machine, :)
Magnets only find ferrous metals (magnetic). Metal detectors have the capability of detecting both ferrous and non-ferrous metals! If you're hooked on magnet fishing, imagine how stoked you would be when you start digging up old coins! There are a variety of quality entry-level machines out there in a variety of price ranges. Check out Kellyco.com where you can filter by brand or price. (Watch Finding America's RUclips channel for a Kellyco discount code) Best of luck to you, and happy hunting.
Thank you, Spud Lee. I am glad you enjoyed it. I have a playlist of my how-to and instructional videos. I will be doing more entry-level how-to videos this year.
Thank you for the help .just got my at pro today... I had a whites DFX..it's alittle different.. trying to watch as much video before I go out and start swinging...
I got the NEL Tornado and also the 4.5 inch tiny coil for the AT Pro. I got extra shafts and have my coils pre-mounted on the shaft ends to speed-up changing coils. You can get them at Kellyco. Use the promo code FAUSA (from Greg Pickens' You Tube site Finding America) for 10% off.
Hey, thanks for the tips - and those are cool finds! New supporter here and will be hitting a permission on Southwest WA this Sunday, so will use your suggested settings. I have an AT Pro w/ NEL Hunter coil, but will also be bringing my Nokta Simplex+ just for extra fun as I'll be hitting some beaches after Sunday. Hopefully will have some video to share next week.
Hey Mike! Great video brother. I am noticing that there is a lot of people using Garrett vs Minelab. I use a Minelab Go-Find 66, it works great and is perfect for what I do. I have been tossing up the idea of the AT PRO or Equinox 800 (submersible). Thank you for sharing.
My detecting friend Craig has a Minelab Equinox 800. I have to say that I am impressed with its performance. However, I am dedicated to "Made In USA" and I love my AT Pro. I also have a near-vintage Whites Spectrum XLT that is an excellent relic machine as my backup.
Very cool! Thought you were gonna spit shine that '40s wheatie 😳 LOL Then, at the end when you showed what the numbers could mean, 99 something really big, all I could think of was that stupid part of a bomb 😂😂😂 that you uncovered
The biggest target I found that rang up 99 was the lid from a 55 gallon drum. I couldn't fit it in my pouch so I had to leave it there. I am glad you liked the video.
The best metal detector on a budget would be a good used machine. Kellyco.com has a huge inventory of problem-free machines in all price ranges. Their website has a filter that includes price ranges that you can narrow a search to find the best machine for you... you can always upgrade at a later time. Thank you for subscribing, I really appreciate it.
Hello. I’m thinking of buying the Garrett AT Pro. This would be my first time ever used and owned a metal detector. I’ll be using it in Ecuador which is in South America. The soil there is volcanic (maybe not everywhere). Do you think the the Garrett AT Pro would be good for this type of soil? Plus I’m guessing that there might be old Spanish coins and hopefully good nuggets (wishful thinking I know) Thank you in advance. FYI, very informative video. Thank you
Yes, the AT series would be a good choice. Just don't forget to ground balance when you change soil types. Thank you for the comment. I hope this helps.
Thank so much for the video very informative. Can’t wait until tomorrow to get out and try the settings!
You're welcome. I hope it helps. Let me know.
So disconcerting to see it swinging in your left hand... LOL Good job. I was just listening to your interview on Relic Radio.

New subscriber here! I really want to get a metal detector. In your opinion what is the best metal detector on a budget? Or does that not exist?
