Personally, I love it that Christine is so protective of Bill's dome. Besides, it's funny. We all want Bill's dome to be safe and well-cared for, for a very long time to come.

I wanna say I had a RS detector when I was young too. I just can't remember the actual brand back then. I wish I had stuck with the hobby when I had it. I would probably have a lot of silver coins from that era.

I still have my AT pro. It served me well. Going over my yard many times, I found a couple wheats and a few copper memorials. Then I bought the Nokta Kruzer, and found a war nickel and a couple more newer pennies. I then bought the Legend and found a merc dime and a Rosie, a really old pocket knife and a couple more wheats, all in my yard, stuff the older detectors missed. I don't plan on resurrecting the AT pro. 😊

Morning, this I can relate because I have a Garret. Solid 50’s usually nickel, sometimes pull taps, 70’s to 80 could end up as zinc pennies to copper Pennies, higher 80’s are clad to silvers.. :)
Thanks for the intel. Yeah, it is always a challenge switching up detectors. I will try and get it out more often!
Back in the day, when I had the Garrett ace 400, my dream machine was the AT PRO. Its a great machine. I went another path though, bought an XP ORX and a Minelab Vanquish 540 later on. You always brighten my day, with you´re banter, please keep it going :D

I’m loving this, that is the same detector I have and now I’m learning more about it😀 I have found 4 silver rings and one bracelet in the last few weeks. Yep 75 is a penny and a 81 can be a dime or penny. 89 a quarter 😀
Thanks... nice, I have had the AT for so long and it has been sitting for too long. I have been trying to mix it up with the detectors and it was awesome to find a silver ring with it.

Yeah, I was just concerned about this little one because it had made it to the road and that could have been bad.
When I was thinking of breaking into the hobby, I searched Garrett metal detectors and that is how I found digging SoCal I went out last week in between the rain and got a 44 walker Philly love from Toledo.
Remember where everything was so simple? I do.

Alabama bought first detector from Kelley-Co. Have bought more from them. Have old Garrett that I need to pull out and use.
Yeah, it seemed to be the goto for detectors back in the day. I like switching it up and working with the different detectors. I now need to get out the Minelab pointer but wow the Garrett is just so good.

I still have my at pro. I don’t use it much since getting the simplex, but still use it for old trashy sites. Still finds the silver coins. And apparently, silver rings-congrats. Catch you on the next one.

On the beach or sand volleyball courts I use my Nox 800. For anywhere else it is definitely my AT Pro. Still my favorite machine.....

No no no! I rescued a water turtle from the middle of the road to keep him from getting run over.
As I was carrying him the rest of the way across the road towards the water…. He bit a small chunk out of my finger and I was holding him back by his hind legs. Yes the turtle can reach that far.
We I got to my friend’s friends house I washed it and poured rubbing alcohol into the wound. I guess that I was in shock because it didn’t hurt.
Then I put a bandaid 🩹 on it and it healed nicely.
You can’t even tell that a small chunk got taken out. If I hold it up to the sunlight I can see a faint line.😊

Even after the axioms, manticores,..and even more expensive machines have passed over many times, I still got the best ever(in 15+ years), right in between the unfilled holes and dug up, thrown aside canslaw, a 2,53ct radiant cut diamond in 5,5gr platinum ring.

Whoa, that’s weird. This morning decided to take out the AT Pro but had to change the batteries first also. No ring though, but did get a $1.10 in change and a twine bracelet with tiny pieces of silver beads. Nice vid and keep your hat on.

@@DigginSoCal Is it a safety alert watch? My mum has one that keeps dialling my brother to come rescue her when she bumps it. Then one day, she actually fell and it didn't respond!
Most of my best finds in the past were with a Garrett ATpro. Good machine.

Most of my gold has come in at the mid 40's, I notch out 35 and below it eliminates bobby pins ,nails and bottlecaps. But not all foil. and I have found a gold bracelet at 38.

When I started, I never hit the grass. I have grown to love grass hunting. When the beaches are not producing, I can always count on good finds in the grass. I think most of my best finds ever have been in the grass!

I bought an AT PRO. I haven’t gotten to use it as much as I would like. But I could clearly see the screws and nails on the surface of the ground but the detector kept showing that it was 6” to 8” deep. After I picked up the screws and nails nothing was in the ground.
Amazing how many targets how many holes how many steps you took when you pull out the AT pro now all you need is a predator small blade red handled shovel
I remove my battery pack after each use I have ran into corrosion once and had to get a new battery holder. I water hunt so I think maybe they got wet, but I greased my O- rings and no problem since. Mine is an AT Gold, basically the same machine.

That's going to be a real change from the Minelab machines, for sure. Still, it works very well. Did you actually have corroded batteries in it?
After decades of happily using other Garretts, I quit the hobby for years because of the Garrett AT Pro...random chatter on every swing, non-stop unrepeatable 1-way signals, unbalanceable, etc... / Finally discovered Minelabs & have been doing great ever since. / Nice dome cover. 😄

I use only Garrett detectors, and like you guys use their pin pointers
