7 Slytherins That Weren't Evil - Harry Potter Theory

- Опубликовано: 23 июл 2024
- Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Slytherin house. More specifically- we’re going to be discussing the morality of some of its former members.
In the Philosopher’s Stone, Hagrid once famously remarked that “There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin.”. However, there are of course a few big issues with Hagrid’s blanket statement. The first issue being that Hagrid is blatantly exaggerating and generalizing- of course there were bad wizards who came from other houses. The second issue with his statement is the wording- as many people have interpreted it as ‘all Slytherins will become bad’, when what Hagrid really meant was ‘all bad witches and wizards come from Slytherin’, which is also not true.
The fact remains that at the end of the day there are witches and wizards (who have come from Slytherin) that ended up just fine- or at least had some form of character arc involving a change in their moral compass. In today’s video, we’re going to be taking a look at some of those characters.
7. Phineas Black
I know what you’re thinking- wasn’t Phineas Black the awful prejudiced ex-Hogwarts headmaster that everyone hated? Yes, certainly, but that was Phineas Nigellus Black- this is Phineas Black, his son. Just because he shared a name and blood with his father, it didn’t mean that he ended up anything like him. In fact Phineas Black was a source of great shame for his father. Why? You might ask. Well, as it turned out Phineas actually believed in muggle rights- a belief that got him disowned by his father and removed from the Black family tree. Phineas, as it turned out, was a genuine person.
6. Andromeda Tonks
Andromeda Tonks, born Andromeda Black of the house of Black, was an English witch that married muggle-born Ted Tonks. Given that she came from the house of Black, a family of pure-blood supremacists, it should come as no surprise that she was disowned by her family for her marriage.
Together, her and Ted had a daughter- Nymphadora, who we know as a respected auror and member of the order of the phoenix. Andromeda was certainly no evil witch.
5. Horace Slughorn
Horace Slughorn was an English pure-blood wizard born sometime between 1882 and 1913. When he attended Hogwarts as a boy he was sorted in to Slytherin house- and because he embodied many aspects of Slytherin house- he embraced it. When he was older, he even became head of the house- a role given to one individual responsible for looking after and disciplining the students of the house. Given Slytherins reputation for producing dark witches and wizards- this role took someone with a firm hand- and though Slughorn can seem quite aloof at times- he is incredibly sharp and even more powerful. With all of that said, however, the only thing that Slughorn was really guilty of was being a bit of a social climber. That, and wanting to be liked by many. Deep down Slughorn certainly wasn’t a bad person- and the pivotal role that he played in the Battle of Hogwarts should be more than enough for anyone to forgive his less favourable traits.

Hagrids whole life was ruined by a slytherin he’s a little biased bless his heart
Very much this.
I saw a theory once that Hagrid himself was a Slytherin since he had access to some of their areas. He's bitter towards them now because one of his own housemates betrayed him.
@@Takisan111lol maybe 🤷♀️
@@Takisan111 Pretty sure he was a Gryffindor

I feel like Regulus Black doesn’t get enough credit for what he did
Yes exactly!
Thank you for saying that

Yep
@Suchita Agarwalla not in the movies and its a blasphemy
Thanks movies
(Still love them, but theres things i wish were there)
Here is my favorite Skyrim quote:
"What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"
I think it's better to overcome your evil because it shows character development and you are capable of making your own decicions
Nobody is born good. It is a myth that people are inherently good.
Snape in a nutshell
My anwser,Both
@@AllThePeppermint You must be religious.
Just because someone is ambitious doesn't necessarily mean they are evil. It's just evil people are generally ambitious.
Omg ik u
exactly
Yeah! Evil people are ambitious but that doesn't change them being evil!!! It just means that good people should try to put more efforts in their goodness!! Our elders tell us " If terrorists are so determined to kill people that they suicide then why good people stay back while protecting" its like that.... But other Slytherin are truly evil!! U cannot say they r not evil just coz they r ambitious... Those 2 definition certainly are not mutually exclusive
So true.
"It's just evil people are generally ambitious." Not in real life.
Evil exists in all humans, whereas not everyone is ambitious. Big difference.
The most heartbreaking part of regulus black was his relationship with his brother both thought they hated each other but both actually loved each other regulus actually is the true hero of the first wizarding war because he gave up his life for the greater good and to destroy voldermort and didnt let anyone know about it
They should make a spin-off with RAB as the protagonist
I honestly like Slughorn. He's intelligent enough to know real talent when he sees it, and ambitious enough to try and "collect" the possessors of said talent.
I actually like him, too. He was intelligent and seemed nice.
Finally a respect to Slytherin.
Tbh, Slytherin is the most popular house in the fandom, I don't think the "finally" fits in there. It's commonsense that slytherins don't have to be bad. Look at Regulus, he died a hero.
Lol what are you talking about, literally every youtuber I’ve seen talks about Slytherin not being as bad as we think even though they are written to be the jerk characters.
Everyone talks about Slytherin, because it's the house that so many hate to love. Gryffindo by default is heard of a lot due to being hero house. Hufflepuff is cool, because Newt Scamander has made them that "cool friendly" house that people can be chill with...
Where is the love for Ravenclaw, the house of magical world's geeks and nerds.
Omg a slythiryn like me! Finally
Slythiryn, Slythiryn now, now, Slythiryn
this bias against 11 year old children because they were sorted into a certain house is rediculous.. it feels like they were pushed into the dark side.. the greatest example of that is severus snape..

I have a feeling that for slytherins that attend hogwarts at modern times, like our time, Wouldnt be hated as much since they arent classified "the evil house" anymore since some slytherins helped defeat Voldemort and there are more Half-bloods and Muggleborns
We need to have more Harry Potter spin-offs to help understand several characters
I think we'll get something like the new Star Wars universe. The Harry Potter universe is amazing and there is so much history to explore. WB will do it eventually. Meanwhile I can't wait for Hogwarts a legacy.
@@HarshManohar I would love to see an origin movie for when Hogwarts was first opened
Just leave the original series alone. If you keep adding and adding to it, like jk is now, it just detracts from the actual books. It’s like when Disney releases live action remakes of old animated films, just leave it and enjoy it for what it is. Wow that sounded very ranty, sorry
@@pianomanwithapianoplan504 Agreed... they need to branch out from the main Harry Potter storyline and that’ll be where the future is content wise
THE NEVILLE LONGBOTTON SERIES
Draco could be considered because of how he was beginning to change towards the end and for him eventually becoming more accepting of muggles and half-bloods. Plus the way he didn't give Harry away when the Trio were brought to Malfoy Manor.
Also during a deleted scene of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 Draco changed sides
@@universeengine3499 Thanks for this.
Don't forget his son!
And just the fact that he didn't kill Dumbledore when he had the chance. That's why Snape had to make the killing blow - Draco hesitated, and couldn't bring himself to do it.
@@rbbecker73 Draco really grappled with completing the job of killing Dumbledore. The two half-hearted attempts with the cursed necklace and the poisoned mead. Then in the end, even with Aunt Bellatrix egging him on, Draco couldn't bring himself to do it. And this was despite the many previous times Draco has badmouthed Dumbledore throughout the years.
But as far as Snape is concerned in this whole situation, he had the unbreakable vow between him and Narcissa, administered by Bellatrix. But even more important is what Dumbledore ordered Snape to do so to avoid Draco from damaging his soul from committing a cold blooded act of murder. Snape knew that Dumbledore was dying anyway from him making contact with the heavily cursed Gaunt ring/horcrux. So it was agreed between the two of them that Snape was to do the job of killing Dumbledore instead of Draco doing it.

I would say that most Black family members that are disowned (with the exception of Sirius), would likely have been morally good Slytherins. I mean, we do know from Slughorn that Sirius was the only Black who didn't ended up in Slytherin and of the Black family members that we know the reason of why they were scorched from the tapestry, it was always for going against the grain when it came to the family values. Or in other words: if you were openly not a bigot, you were a disgrace in the family...
I also like Slughorn's character and his place in Slytherin. He is the perfect example of a morally good but ambitious opportunist. He never did something really evil and despite his prejudices, it is his eye for potentional and ambition that made him a true Slytherin. He wouldn't be hindered by something as silly thing like blood status if his student showed talent, ambition, charisma, looked like someone who would make it in the world. And no matter who they were, if he saw the worth of a student who showcased the traits of someone who had in them to become very successful, he would do anything in his power to make sure that they got the right connections, introduced them to right people and steered them in the right direction.
He thought Tom Riddle could be the Minister of Magic. Not entirely wrong tbh as young Tom Riddle was a powerful and charming wizard.😂
@@harukrentz435 And if Tom's interest were so small, the office would have been his. He was a very charismatic man who managed to rally a lot of families behind him and was magically very strong. Tom had many qualities that would have served him greatly if he ran for office and Slughorn saw this as no others.
Unfortunately for anyone, he had completely other, more hidden ambitions...
@@BjornV1994 yeah young tom riddle was so scary, imagine him as minister of magic then revoked the secrecy agreement. There would be blo od everywhere.
@@harukrentz435 He would be horrifying as the minister of magic but I do think that his approach to use his power would be more refined than he did as Lord Voldemort. He wouldn't immediately revoke the statute of secrecy but over time he would be more and more ruthless against muggle and more so against muggle-borns.
Well Tom did possess those qualities. He was gifted magically, he was ambitious, and he was charismatic. The thing is he was the dark side of those qualities.
Someone who was Slytherin should be on this list is Leta Lestrange
I feel like even tho Draco Malfoy was a bully to students, especially half bloods , I think after the battle of Hogwarts he became in overall good person
That's true in the last 3 movies he wadnt evil he was broke and him being a bully to other blood status s other than pureblood was something his father maybe wanted him to do
Confirmed by canon
I know we all agree that The Cursed Child is bad, but one thing they did get right, was that Draco got his redemption. He married a witch who believed in muggle rights, raised his son to be accepting, and stopped Voldemort from coming back. I really wish this happened in the books but I guess knowing that he turns out better is enough
He wasn't a bully to half bloods. He was a bully the mud bloods.
He helped harry at one point too

Loving the consistency🙌🏼
I personally think that Narcissa Malfoy should have also been in this list because although she supported her husband who was a death eater, all she cared about was that her family, especially her son was safe from harm.
That's just about ANY mother. That doesn't make Narcissa special at all.
@@Sharon-pb7so but It doesn't mean that she is evil
I agree. Narcissa was not evil. She loved her family and wanted Draco safe. She turned against Voldemort when Draco's life was in danger.
@@peggyknecht5551 True, but there’s still ONE thing that bugs me about her. She technically didn’t like Astoria because Astoria taught her children that muggleborns aren’t any different from them. So technically, Narcissa is against muggleborns.

I seem to recall Merlin took over as head of Slytherin house when Slytherin was forced out.
I mean Heads of Houses are Hogwarts teachers... I don’t recall Merlin ever teaching at Hogwarts...
@@daniellushbaugh4693 I find it very likely he did. I seem to remember hearing he came to hogwarts at a higher age than 11.
He wasn't the head of house but he was a Slytherin himself
Last time I was this early Salazar Slytherin was arguing with Godrick.
The hat itself says that Slytherin people are cunning. It means that they will befriend the powerful and give them loyalty. The slytherins being evil was a prejudice made after Voldemort. In the books, the hat itself said that Gryffindor and Slytherin were the best of friends (Book 5).
If Snape had been in a different house... Could and would he and Lilly have been more than friends
Yes I think that's part of why Harry forgives him, he realizes that if the hat had placed him in Slytherin, which it threatened to be may have ended up very much like Snape.
Possibly and it might have also changed his personality completely. Assuming that Dumbledore believed that Snape could’ve and should’ve been Gryffindor, that puts him in the same house as Lily as well as the Marauders which leads to a number of things
1. He’s in the same house as Lily so he’s able to see her more often and the Hat sees traits that they both share which works to his benefit. If it works, then Lily falls him sooner and therefore not James after he grew up
2. He’s not with Lucius Malfoy and other Slytherins who would go on to become Death Eaters under Voldemort so he’s not as influenced to join them. Remember with his abusive father at home, the future Death Eaters are essentially a gang that make Snape more welcome
3. Not as likely as the first two but still possible- the Marauders might not have targeted him as much or at all. One of Prongs’ reasons for picking on Snape was the fact that he was a loner who mingled with other Slytherins who would become Death Eaters. By being in the same house, it’s possible that similar to Lily they may not be as quick to pick on a fellow Gryffindor. Not saying they treat him like a fellow Marauder but at least on good terms.
@@Wolf-wc1js As for 3 I think that Snape and Lupin may have become friends, James and Sirius however were always sort of jerks. Not just to Snape.
No i dont think it made any difference. Lily was known as a very compassionate person and was good friends with snape even after the sorting for many years. It was clear though that she broke ties to snape and moved further toward James after she defended him against James. An event that embarrassed Snape and he lashed out at her and called her a mudblood. that hurt lily deeply and snape later regretted it severely. so it was snape's own actions that pushed lily away.
@@DaDunge Sirius just did whatever James did. James hated dark magic which was why he bullied Snape and other Slytherins. If Snape was a Gryffindor he wouldn’t have been influenced to go to the dark arts which means Snape wouldn’t be bullied by the marauders. Also James was a pretty good person. He stuck with Lupin when almost everyone hated werewolves and was willing to break the law to help Lupin by becoming an Animagus.

Slythrins aren’t evil it’s just their competitive and ambitious nature that makes them hated
No, Slytherins aren't evil, but they aren't hated due to their competitive and ambitious nature. It is the fact that they value their ambitions more than everything else, and can henceforth be mean at times if anything else isn't a priority. Also, a fair number of the slytherins during the 1990's (the main timeline), were children of death eaters, this is why they were considered to be so. Not every slytherin was bad.
Not even that, Slytherin's value a certain moral flexibility. That is they value goals rather than means. That's not to say that the end always justify the means but they are more inclined to let it than others. As someone once explained it to me: Slytherin is about knowing what is important to you and what you are willing to give up to achieve it.
Not Ambition but ambition.
There’s not a single slytherin from harrys year who supported muggleborns or harry and his problems if there would have been then they would’ve fought in the war alongside
@@DaDunge and that something could even be their own lives, if a Slytherin has decided that a cause is worth it, they will give up anything to see it through. I mean look at Snape.
@@Evaristo.Fernandes hahaha well thats on the author, also to be fair there was an age limit as well when they evacuated all students below a certain age, for all we know the younger slytherins were with Harry.
I guess Narcissa could possibly be included in this list? Although maybe her actions at the end of the deathly hallows were only to protect her son and not because of her actual change in heart
No her actions were good and brave but how does one action of bravery and good measure up against her life?
@@DaDunge I agree with you. That’s why I was hesitant to say this
Narcissa was much nastier in the books than in the movies. All her ‘good’ deeds were purely out of self-interest.
@@noelleggett5368 Not self interest, love for her son. Dumbledore would not have faulted her for that. That said she is a pureblood supremacist even if not a deatheater herself.
@@DaDunge Reread Half-blood Prince, Chapter 6: Draco’s Detour. Narcissa is particularly nasty to Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Regulus Black and Andromeda Tonks are my favourite Slytherin (Scorpius Malfoy too, though I don't approve of Cursed Child, I do see him as a Slytherin)
Love these vids, hp for Life 😁
I could see Draco being put on this list. Obviously he was a real stinker with trying to kill Dumbledore and all. But having Lucius as a father Draco made some choices that showed he wasn’t evil.
he was a coward who failed at almost everything he was made to do. Just because he was less than capable of evil than Voldemort, doesn't mean he was not evil.
@@SantomPh exactly he was still a racist fat shaming bully who thinks he's better than everyone else because of his last name
I cried to Kreacher's story in books they should have included Regulus and Andromeda in movies 😭
the whole idea is that Regulus sacrificed himself (sadly, for nothing) and that Andromeda was shut out so much she didn't even live anywhere near Hogwarts. And no, they should not have been in the movies. Learn how movies are made first.
As a Slytherin, thanks for this! Horace Slughorn and Regulus Black are my favorite Slytherins; however, let's not forget that even the Malfoys were somewhat redeemed at the end of Deathly Hallows as they sat in the Great Hall after the Battle of Hogwarts.
they were cowering in a corner during the battle since all 3 had lost their wands. The wand Voldemort used prior to getting the Elder Wand was Narcissa's
Albus: I don’t wanna be in Slytherin. Harry: ur named after three great wizards and one of them was a slithering. The last wizard is me, obvs.

I had thought of Draco Malfoy.
Can anyone else appreciate the irony in the fact that James and Sirius (two wealthy purebloods) hated Slytherin and Voldemort's ideology so much that they bullied a poverty-stricken half-blood?
Oh please, Snape's half-blood status was never the reason why he was bullied (Remus was a half-blood and James has a half-blood son).
@@paulyb7267 yeah it was because he existed
@@dharaandsisters6128 Or maybe it was because Snape was a wannabe Death Eater who was deep into the Dark Arts and who was part of a gang of Slytherins that would regularly terrorize and bully muggle-born and blood-traitor students (Snape called many people mudbloods).
Severus does deserve to be on this list, but let's not ignore his unfair teaching methods (favoring his house's students & intimidating other houses needlessly) & particularly bullying Harry "for the fact that he exists" (to paraphrase James Potter).
Part of that was because of him hiding his true role as a double agent, and having to protect Harry. But mostly because of the pain it caused Snape to see the mistakes he made with losing Lily's friendship and his blaming himself for her death. That and him looking like James was hard for him. Snape did not pick on Harry so much after Voldemort came back , if you notice. He had too many other things on his mind
Yeah, let's forget that Dumbledore unfairly awarded points for extracurricular activities that were against the school rules and for courage to his former house (Gryffindor) AFTER Slytherin had already been declared the winner of the House Cup - and he awarded them just enough points to beat Slytherin. He had more than enough time to award points to Gryffindor BEFORE the final ceremony because Harry was in the hospital wing for three days after his confrontation with Prof. Quirrell and Voldemort but he didn't, probably just so he could piss the Slytherin students off. He should also have TAKEN points from Gryffindor because Harry, Ron and Hermione broke into the underground chambers, what was against the school rules, and risked their lives without even informing a teacher.
Why didn’t harry potter talk to dumbledore after he died in the portrait
He did in the books

@@cassandraxianbautista1060 Movies can’t get everything in. That’s why I’m of the opinion that they should’ve done a TV series instead of a movie series.
I think Leta Lestrange should’ve been on here, considering her arc in Crimes of Grindelwald and how she sacrificed herself to save Newt and Theseus at the end of the movie she truly represented the “good” in Slytherin her ambition as well as her deep love and pure heart drove her
When I first read the books even though it was obvious I was supposed to hate Snape I noticed that when ever there was danger he was the fastest to step between the danger and the students. There wasn't even time for thought, it was instinctive for him. They portrayed this well in the movies too. A man with that instinct couldn't really be bad.
Even though he “redeemed” himself I still don’t hold Snape highly in the morality department. He chose to give Voldemort the prophecy knowing it was going to lead to a child’s death. He only changed because of a frankly unhealthy infatuation with Lily. If Voldemort went after anyone else’s baby Snape wouldn’t have batted an eye.
Yeah I wouldn’t say he wasn’t evil. He just is not as bad as everyone thought he was. He still bullied a bunch of people and probably killed many while trying to work as secret voldy agent
Ehh he was also pretty young when he did those bad things. Like many of us we make pretty bad decisions when we are young. It’s more of who you become vs who you were.
Snape would’ve been in early twenties when he made those mistakes. I’m not totally proud of all my early 20’s decisions either
Like Batman Begins....it’s what you do that defines you. And Snape’s later bravery certainly made up for his early shortcomings

You are dead since 1996
Great video.
it occurs to me Leta Lestrange is absent from this list. A Slytherin who sacrificed herself with the same Love Magic that protected Harry and then in turn protected Newt AND Thesius from Grindelwald's Fiendfyre.
Also, I wouldn't count Phineas Nigellus Black as "evil" either. A raging jackass? Absolutely. Pompous? You betcha! Arrogant? Definitely. High on himself and his self-worth? Yup. But ultimately he helped - even begrudgingly - when it counted. Or at least his portrait did and as we know, portraits are proportionately as much as the person puts into them. Since the least popular headmaster of Hogwarts was full of himself? It stands to reason it's a 1:1 copy of the living person as if his last thoughts were imprinted on the canvas and the portrait just continued on where the body left off. Not evil, but definitely a dick.
Astoria Greengrass is also absent as it was confirmed she too was a Slytherin and like Draco Malfoy, had a big time change of heart after the Second War. Same goes for Draco himself actually. And IF we're putting in Albus Potter? Scorpius Malfoy counts as well.
While statistically speaking it is more common for Slytherin to produce bad eggs, for every 11 rotten eggs in the dozen, there's always 1 golden egg among the dozen. Even if at first they do not see it in themselves. Conversely, not every Gryffindor is born to be a hero or a noble person (Cormac McLaggen, Romilda Vane, or Peter Pettigrew anybody?)
Really is interesting how Harry’s son was put into slytherin. The cursed child probably did the story of Harry and Draco’s children as much but was an interesting read.

Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of HARRY POTTER THEORY
You started this video saying that Hagrid commented about witch or wizard going bad and Slytherin House. Hagrid did tell Harry that in book one, but Ron said that to Harry during the Sorting Ceremony (Draco) in the first movie. Makes more sense coming from Hagrid. Should have kept that in the movie. Love the videos - Thx.
it makes less sense when Ron says it, given his brother Percy was pretty much a Slytherin despite being sorted into Gryffindor.
What I like about Professor Slughorn is that even though he's a bit of a gold digger, he's still a nice guy and he'll be respectful to you even if you don't have anything to offer him.
This vdo is motivating because yesterday I found out I am a Slytherin in Pottermore .
My patronus is a bloodhound
Nice! I am a Ravenclaw and my patronus is a fox terrier
@@ella.swift13 oh wow 🥺
I always wanted to be a Ravenclaw 🤧
But ya .. all slytherins are not bad
Same, Slytherin house and bloodhound patronus 😅

@@lincolnexaron864 aww thank you
@@mxrvelxbts_foreverr.6264 I got you! I have 3 friends who are slytherins, and they are great people.

@@mxrvelxbts_foreverr.6264 That I love slytherins, I honestly think we need to see more of your house, its really an interesting house.
"Who gives more shape to sentient history the good, who adhere to the tried and true, or those who seek to rouse beings from their stupor and lead them to glory?" Darth Plagueis
What about scorpious as he is very kind hearted and in the book he is hugging albus without thinking . So like he should be on this list
I love slytherins🐍🐍
I refuse to accept cursed child as canon.
I only considered it for Scorpius Malfoy.... Its tragic that JK didnt write it to explore a Potter in Slytherin... would have been a fantastic series if the cursed child was Scorpius and Albus would be great friend and his struggles in his house would be a great thing
@@SasukeUchiha723 albus would never be in slytherin because Harry already told him that he can just choose his House. Also a Potter in Slytherin is a dumb idea. Now a malfoy in Gryffyndor would be a much better idea because Scorpio would never know that he could choose so it would be a great shock to Draco that he was in the opposing House.
Ravenclaw here, my take on slytherin's are thus: I sort of classify slytherin's as the survivors and ambitious of the wizarding world. During the battle of hogwarts, slytherin house saw the dark lord as invincible, and rather stay and be wiped out, left to ensure there own survival. They would rather serve a strong evil, than die defending a weak good. In the ministry, slytherin's are the type who will blackmail, bribe, and backstab to advance or keep their positions. They are a very focused and goal driven house to be sure. Some of the traits of slytherin are actually quite admirable in many ways. It just makes them rather abrasive to most other houses.
They didn't leave, they got kicked out by the Gryffindor HoH, all over 1 girl saying what everyone else was thinking
This was s0 good!
Do other houses that did evil.
Cursed child is so wrong. He tried to pull his father's trick.
Thought it would be an interesting contrast idea video.
Love that you included Snape. And agree, he wasn't evil.
I feel that I have to quote something J.K. Rowling once said concerning Snape: "You can't make him a saint, he was vindictive and bullying; you can't make him a devil, he died to save the wizarding world." Snape was a complicated man, and intentionally written to be morally gray.
@@joelferguson8862 Yes he was ambiguous so the reader or viewer could decide his persona. Alan made him the way he thought Snape should be. JK recanted a lot of things about Snape. She said Harry and Snape both were good but flawed. She said, " the one who sent to care the least, loved the most". I think she was surprised how much people loved Snape. He was voted the most favorite and loved character in the HP series. Actually, he sacrificed his life for others to keep them protected. In my religion, he most definitely is a saint
I agree that all of these would be on this list, but just in a different order, for me, personally.
They are in no particular order
@@HarryPotterTheory oh, okay, I just thought they were in order, as my mind could see how this order reasonably
Harry Potter theory: puts albus Severus in slitherins who weren’t evil
also Harry Potter theory: leaves out scorpious Malfoy
Andromeda Nymphadora 'Tonks' Black was a member of Slytherin?
Tonks was in Hufflepuff.
@@TheTrex9000 thanks a lot. Didn't have the books right on hand to refute it, but somerhing about that ' fact' didn't ring true to me. Probably should have looked on wikipedia's website for the answer.
what about Scorpius Malfoy? He was even better than Albus.
And what about me? Im a proud Slytherin, but I'm not evil.
" We are all capable of great good and great evil but its the path we chose that determines who we are."
When i took the pottermore quiz i never expected to be sorted into Slytherin, i thought i'd get sorted into hufflepuff (due to my sensitive and caring nature) or ravenclaw (due to my creativity and inquisitiveness) i thought I was too nice and not nearly ambitious enough to be a slytherin, but the one slytherin trait i do possess is my resourcefulness. I can make the best out of any situation and easily perceive the simplest most efficient solution to a problem while others are forced to overcome them the hard way. After researching good slytherins and morally gray slytherins i relate a lot more to my house (particularly merlin)
Scorpius Malfoy should have been included
Two more people deserved to be on the list- Draco Malfoy and Astoria Malfoy
Her House hasn't even been identified.
Harry potter ads on a Harry potter video, it can't get any better than this
I kind of feel bad for Slughorn though.
Don't worry Harry, you're a great wizard.
Hermione Granger in Philosopher's Stone, talking to Harry
❤️
@@zofiaadelechua3730 😀👍
Cannot see why that line was in the movie. Harry doesn't cast a single spell in The Philosopher's Stone.
@@WatchThatFirstStep True but he does become the youngest seeker in quidditch
Well, I think that I most certanly deserve to be on this list. Change it now or my father will here about this! Oh and Potter if you are here, watch your back! Now I better go and finish my task for the dark lord.
Snape first impression: worst teacher! I hate him
Snape last impression: the bravest man I knew!
He was literally a spy under Lord Voldemort ooops I meant You Know Who’s nose
Wait You Know Who didn’t have a nose 👃
(First impression on me NOT HARRY)
Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter's friendship while at Hogwarts in Slytherin would be interesting to see.
Also to get a point of view of the rivalry with Gryffindor from the other side.
Not every intelligent person is a ravenclaw like Hermione
Not every brave person is a gryffindor like Snape
Not every kind and loyal person is a Hufflepuff like Andromeda
Not every evil person is Slytherin like wormtail
Not every ravenclaw is creative : Lockhart
Not every Hufflepuff is kind to all : Zacharias
Not every gryffindor is brave: Wormtail
Not every Slytherin is evil : Slughorn
Sorry I don’t know what did Zacharias do?
@@Lenoure he was, you know not imapartial and had a feeling of dislike towards Harry, In a quidditch (half blood Prince) match in which he was made the commentator he was just making
foul comments for Harry which I think and maybe most of the people think is not a trait Hufflepuff house favours.
I wouldn’t call Lockhart not intelligent (dumb) he was pretty above average to some of his teachers but nothing crazy, he was favoured by his mother as he was they only wizard (he had 2 older sisters that were squibs) and his mum made him think he was special , but when he went to Hogwarts he really wasn’t any different, getting to the point, he was a pretty intelligent student and man for actually creating the plan to steal people’s achievements (it wasn’t right though) but I would most probably replace the sentence with “Not very ravenclaw is creative” because he just took credits for other peoples hard work so I would say he was just a lazy dude who was raised wrong
@@Malak75921 I know about his life story, and now I come to think about it, you are correct 😅 ty.
@@Lenoure He was a total D-Hole to Harry.
🐍💚glad for this video!!
In some ways Draco belongs on this list. Certainly not up at the top or anything but down somewhere at the bottom. Yes he was Jerk in school and said some awful things. He was a bully but he never really did anything except run his mouth until Halfblood Prince. Except for breaking Harry's nose, everything he did was under duress. If he had refused, Voldemort would have killed him and his family. In the end he wasn't able to go through with killing Dumbledore. Then in Deathly Hallows at Malfoy mannor Draco didn't conclusively identify Harry even though he knew it was him. Draco seemed more concerned with getting his wand back than capturing Harry and he showed real concern for Crabbe after they escaped the burning room of requirement. Draco, as I understand it abandoned alot of the pureblood mania instilled in him by his parents after the events of Deathly Hallows. Draco wasn't a Saint but he wasn't a complete monster either.
Draco was a coward who increasingly got trapped in the escalating events as the story goes on. Like Mundungus Fletcher, he was kicking and screaming to be let out in the end and had a lucky escape. Not really heroic.
I’m a little upset that Draco Malfoy wasn’t included in the list. He may have started out as a bully, but he was far from evil.
True
“Help..” Draco malfoy when he was hugged by voldy
@Fenja 9.2 He lied to Voldemort to save Harry though, when he is asked if the disfigured person in front of him is Harry he recognizes him but says it's not him. A bit like his mother lying to Voldemort about Harry being dead.
Though, he is still an asshole, I doubt he changed his opinions on muggle born, for example.
@@zofiaadelechua3730 lol pretty sure anyone not named Bellatrix would not be ok with Voldemort hugging them
He is tortured people
Scorpius malfoy who became best friends with Albus Potter should have been an honorary mention. I’m pretty sure that several members of the house of black that were disowned were Slytherins like Cedrella Weasley née Black grandmother of the Weasley family.
Many don’t consider cursed child canon
what is the name of the music in the video ?
Thank you ☺️🐍
How come Wormtail was in gryffindor?
Because he valued bravery and that’s why he admired James, Sirius and Remus.
Well he was Because remember The Marauders *Sirius, James Remus And Wormtail *aka* Peter Were All in Gryffindor!
The Sorting Hat felt sorry for him
@@YellowBear-kx1ff No,he didn't. He admired the marauders because of power, why else he went to Voldemort's side
@@lucalucai1832 I know he was
Imo Draco is not totally evil, but his father is..
No, Lucius wasn’t exactly evil because like Draco put it himself, he’s entire family preferred a world without Voldemort.
Unlike Bellatrix who simply loved Voldemort the Malfoys were being forced in some way.
@@bruhtnt4258 I see your point, but in the film of COS, Lucius was literally about to Avada Kadarva a 12 year old lol at the very least, Lucius’s actions are further down the spectrum of evil than Draco’s. Lucius is also one of my favorite characters btw despite him being a racist elitist (good bad guy).
Merlin looks like that guy from A&P Reacts. I keep expecting him to make jokes while listening to heavy metal music.
You know it’s bad when it’s easier to count the members of the house that **aren’t** evil 🤪
