GearHead704 yeah brother don’t know what I was thinking by not looking at the instructions but it’s fixed. I hope to get the push rods in this weekend.
I did the same thing when I got rid of my thermactor pipe.it was amazing how much carbon build up there was. Mistakes happen brother just better you caught it in time. Great video look forward to seeing the next one.
That's easy just swap to an aluminum intake.. In that years there was no smog ports on heads. My 78 is all original an no smog crap besides intake mounted egr from exhaust
Bailey wilson there are 2 all ready in the front of the heads 4 comes in the pack. Just say if you bought aftermarket heads you would more than likely need all 4. You can buy just 2 if you want but I just got the 4 pack just to have extra. I did just use 2 of them.
Brandon Knight yes you can or you can remove them and just cut the tube off and flip them we’re the solid side closes off the holes these plugs aren’t that expensive if you decide to use them hope that helps.
@@Mattys91gt you want to try to get them flush is there any carbon buildup inside? That could be holding you out. If it’s in the back of the head then you shouldn’t have an issue if it seal’s up.
@@DEMONFOX5.0 I don't feel many threads and I know nothing about the car it does seem like the motor was pulled because the block was painted blue and u could see a new/old set of timing cover gaskets and cut ground wires
We all make mistakes, But not everyone is man enough to admit it. Great job brother keep the videos coming!
BREW2L thanks brother hate doing things twice but it happens. Just don’t want to miss lead anyone and give the wrong information.
I'm glad you found out about the ARP specs before you got the motor back in the car. I'm looking forward to the push rod install.

Good stuff as always man! Looking forward to seeing that red demon hit the road again! Keep us updated!
Mike Chappell thank you for watching. Yeah I can’t wait to get her back on the road again.

Foxbody Mike thanks brother yeah glad I got it addressed. Yeah these plugs are great it’s amazing how much carbon is built up in there.

Brian Dubbeld thanks. It’s the little things. 👍
Good stuff
Great upload! 🦊🤍
Thanks.🙏🏻
What else you lack to get it on the road besides finishing the motor and installing?
Shane Batten not to much more still have a few more things to do hopefully I’ll get the pushrod’s in this weekend.
Great install video, thanks for taking the time to upload. Now, how would you remove it if needed ?
People usually never take them out. Thank you it’s a easy and simple install.
Also it’s threaded in the ID as well.
I was wondering the same . Trying to remove one right now lol
Do I have to plug the smaller hole next the the one you plugged?
You just have to plug the one you seen me do in the video leave the other ones alone and you will be good to go.
@@DEMONFOX5.0 thank you I appreciate the reply! I ordered the plugs and should be able to get this job done this weekend!!
@@visco_ties3875 it’s a pretty simple job to do compared to most lol.
I want to take smog off my 1979 Ford F-150 custom have you got a video that shows how start to finish ?

I’m confused why you needed 4? You only used two of them correct?

DEMONFOX 5.0 alright just making sure thank you!
Question, cant i leave the tube in place, cut and crimp the end?
Brandon Knight yes you can or you can remove them and just cut the tube off and flip them we’re the solid side closes off the holes these plugs aren’t that expensive if you decide to use them hope that helps.
Brandon Knight there is a link in the description if you choose to use these plugs.
I've built many small block ford's an none of them need head bolt thread sealer iv never found a block that threads into water jackets..
if u see this I'm trying to put these in with the motor in I'm having trouble
It’s best to run a tap in if you haven’t already to help clean the threads out.
@@DEMONFOX5.0 I cleaned them out the best I could but I couldn't get them flush with the head is that going to be a issue

I used a spark plug to plug that
Yeah that’s what we used back in the day as well.
🔴🇺🇸🔧👍
Why can't you just use a short grade 5 bolt with some loctite on it??
You can. These are just what they put in from the factory.
