*Wow, so many likes and comments, but nobody understood why I wrote it. The reason I emphasized her Arab/Muslim origin was to make people see that the Jews are being attacked and blamed mainly by Muslims and their supporters just for being Jews. I guess that Nadia and other pro Palestinians would never protest against Muslim countries or their citizens in which people are really getting murdered on purpose, not as casualties as happens in Gaza, but on purpose, such as in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan etc. Their own Muslim leaders have murdered their own citizens! But it's easy to protest against Jews, who have only one Jewish country, and who are threatened daily for the past 100 years in Israel with terror attacks. Read some history!

If only people with an objective, deep understanding of the situation were protesting, the protests would be cordial, peacful, and merely a forum to debate. But when people who lack understanding and the ability to think critically, we get chaos, riots, and overall, unpeacful decorum.

Israel is a state party to numerous international human rights treaties and, as the occupying power, it has well defined obligations to respect, protect and fulfil the human rights of Palestinians.
However, as has been well documented for many years by the UN, Amnesty International and other NGOs, Israel’s settlement policy is one of the main driving forces behind the mass human rights violations resulting from the occupation. These include:
Violations of the right to life,
Violations of the rights to liberty, security of the person and equal treatment before the law,
Violations of the right to access an effective remedy for acts violating fundamental rights
Violations of the rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly
Violations of the rights to equality and non-discrimination
Violations of the right to adequate housing:
Violations of the right to freedom of movement
Violations of the rights of the child
Violations of the right to enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health
Violations of the right to water

If you think they're right on this moral dillema, while Western democracies are on the wrong side, seek professional help. The facts are what they are. I remember sitting in a class about the Soviet Central Asian republics about 33 years ago. We got off topic and started talking about Israel and Palestine. The professor asked me what would I do to solve the conflict. I said if I had that answer I'd be teaching the class while sitting next to my Nobel Peace Prize. Right now, all I can see happening is a cease fire from both Israel and Hamas, release any hostages who are still alive, and go back to the negotiation table. Israel doesn't want a one state solution with Palestinians, the Palestinians don't want to share the territory with the Jews in a two state solution, and one of Hamas' key objectives in the destruction of Israel. It's also partially devolved into a proxy way between the US and Iran through military aid. The best solution now might be a truth and reconciliation process like South Africa did with UN Peacekeepers coming in like in Rwanda and former Yugoslavia. But they have to be willing to talk to each first. It's a mess.

Hamas won't release the hostages, they could have the last ceasefire when they promised to release all the females, kids, and babies, but they didn't.

@@BobSacamano666That’s what I think the endgame is going to be, unfortunately. I watch a great channel called “Ask Israeli, ask a Palestinian “. Overwhelming the Israelis say a two state solution will work, while the Palestinians say nope, it’s our land-the Jews have to go. So they have work together to share the land. I agree that the powers that be right now would never acquiesce to a Palestinian majority in the Knesset or a Palestinian PM. I think that Netanyahu will burn Israel to the ground rather than give it up.

Both sides on this issue demonstrate a mid-East "desert-brain" mentality. This "dispute" has gone on since the days of Abraham and his two sons. The hubris of the student protestors has disrupted campus life (and closed down public bridges). It needs to be stopped...Permanent expulsion from Columbia (and other universities that protesters are infiltrating) is the way to end this silly mess. @mistahmath5063 13 дней назад

The first stage is demoralization, which can take 15 to 20 years to achieve. That’s the minimum number of years to re-educate a generation of young people who grow up exposed to the ideology of the country. This is the power of ideology at work, and that generation will eventually replace previous ones over time, first in the workforce, then by having their own families.
Once demoralization is completed, the second stage of ideological brainwashing is destabilization, which occurs in a 2 to 5 year period. According to Bezmenov, what matters during this time is targeting a nation’s essential structural elements - economy, foreign relations, and defense systems. The subverter - in this case, the Soviet Union - looks to destabilize each of these areas in the United States by considerably weakening them. This is what most people think of when they think of an enemy state doing something against their own nation. Pardon me as I cite a really nerdy example that could potentially be a destabilization attempt.
The third stage - crisis - takes up to 6 weeks to manifest, which then gives way to the final stage. There have been plenty over recent years, like in Ukraine and Israel. However, those crises are outright acts of war, so they’re a lot more overt. Meanwhile, there have been other examples like the Arab Spring, as well as various revolutions during the 2000s like the Orange Revolution in Ukraine and the Rose Revolution in Georgia, among many others throughout the world.
The final stage is normalization, which is the ultimate goal of ideological subversion - changing the hearts and minds of the people from the outside. The preferred outcome for the subverter is that no one truly notices that there was any subversion at play. In the case of the Soviet Union, their goal is to make the people of the west question the capitalistic system and their powers that be, enough to spark revolutionary action.

I fully agree with you, she should have been asked that question. If she can't condemn Hamas that will be the (giveaway) that she is not honest. I thought she showed fake sympathy in this video and tried to justify the threatening behaviour of the pro-Hamas mob. In my opinion, she is a liar and does not care that the Jews were threatened and harassed at colleges. If she cared, she would do something to help them, but I have a feeling she won't.

@@rayzor5289 Well since she claims to be so "loving" if she sees a mob of protesters surrounding Jewish students and blockading them so they can't walk away, she should walk over and tell them to stop. That would be a good start. If she denies the harassment against Jews she exposes herself as a liar, and if she sees the harassment and does nothing to stop it then she is NOT loving and she only proves my point.

Nadia is right that the main message has been blurred. Most protesters probably want a ceasefire and aid to Gaza, but sadly I see alot of flags there calling for Revolution against Israel, which means more violence. Also the "From the river to the sea" message is a very provocative and divisive slogan, not at all peaceful.

I respect that you understand "From the river to the sea" the way you do. Still, every person who says that phrase assigns their own different meanings, and I respect that too. Many who use it wish the best for all people. There is a very wide diversity of meanings that people assign to it. The situation is complex.
