Schoolchildren are basically being told by their parents they're supposed to feel bad about their school name. The idea that the name of the school will harm the children is ludicrous. Children are going to be exposed to names and a lot of other things they may not like throughout life and need to be able to cope with that. You can't go through life expecting everybody to change every time there is something that makes you uncomfortable. You have to learn how to cope with discomfort.
Tell all that to the children of Florida and Arkansas where teaching this history is severely restricted. Tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about the Confederacy and their own school names.
