Great video. Used it to replace my grill today! Took about a couple hours for me. The one thing I wished I had more insight into was how to unhinge the top 6 tabs/clips of the grill from the bumper

Took me about 4 hours in the dead of winter to do this... some clips needed heating from ice n stuff and had to hack off the middle support that's behind the grill. This was just to fit the mesh one I got... Thanks for leading the way though!

I have no problem with the grille. I just wish they would get rid of the fake vents especially the ones on the sedan's rear bumper.
The sensor is i. The front, far as I know nothing is in the rear ones

Edit: For EXT models. There's clips under the signal lights you have to get to start pulling the bumper off.

Got mine installed. Was a pain but only took about an hour. Fitment was 8.5/10 pretty good but not perfect by any stretch.
All that work to take the bumper off, just to get the car to look like what it should have from the factory. Honda/Acura has to stop thinking these beaks look good.
I tried to remove the eyebrow trim and followed your steps by there something hold it located in the middle of the bumper. I tried to pulled it out but it won't badge. Is there any hidden clip underneath?

Any reason why my eye lids don’t pop off that easy? I pressed down on both openings at the top, and they do pop off. But it seems like there’s something else holding it to the rest of the grill. On the inner portion of it.

@@CartmanxBrah the broken clips that connects the eyelash part to the middle part of the grills makes a slightly bigger gap but it stays put. And the top part of the middle of the grill doesn’t connect to the hood but you can barley notice
Does the Honda logo holder just swap over?
I put mine on a while ago and have a new one now but I couldn’t get rid of the gap on the top of the grill, wasn’t noticeable unless right in front of it but was irritating 😭
Yes same here, I don't think the grille was made in the right size so it doesn't line up with the original Honda bumper, in my case the screws don't line up and the gap at the top is too big to force it to clip onto the bumper.
Cannot get the grille top piece to stay in place. It's that or those clips up there must of broke when removing the oem grille. Kind of wished this video had a zoomed angle instead of fast forward as those clips are super easy to break.

Have you noticed a significant drop in ECT on a track day with this new grille? Im hitting 105c ect with my custom tuned +9psi map when pushing hard.
+Marion San Pedro Unfortunately, we have not tracked the vehicle since the install. At the moment, we do not have any exact figures, but yes, we do anticipate a good drop in ECT and engine oil temps. Heatsoak is the biggest enemy of this 1.5T motor during prolonged drives or track use.
While this may very well increase cooling, does it however mess with the aerodynamics of the car and increase drag?

No, I don't believe you can just do a complete bumper swap like that. This grille works on both bumpers though.

my honda civic ex 2018 has a chrome logo and the chrome eyebrows with a matte black peace right below it. If i get this and install t will that matte peace be gone also and the whole things be the glossy black? because i dont want part of it to be glossy black then have the matte black right below it because then it will look bad.

I have a question. For anyone who knows. My wife's civic touring has a radar sensor in front do I need to worry about anything when I take the bumper off?
No the sensor is not attached to the bumper.. just be careful with the fog lights

Is the stock Si emblem removable and is it able to be mounted to this grill?
no its not compatible, however you can buy an aftermarket ebay one if you like that has two screw and nuts with washers to tighten behind the grill.
My cars a 10th gen and when I finally go on to put the grill it doesn’t fit my car. The placements are different 😣

How do you connect the grill to the top of the bumper my tabs are not snapping together?
I had same issue with my gfs honda grille install just now (still not done got too dark out) but I came across another video where the guy used zip ties to solve that problem. You'll get a nice clean flush fitment. Try it. I'm going to do that tomorrow (9/18/21)
@@NATO714 I just put screws with lock nuts on the middle by the emblem and seems to work good ziptie didn't help me and the would only be temporary since they can come loose
Pretty much the only issue I have with the 10th gen! that horrible looking front end. This resolves about 75% of it but there's still something off about it!

Yes, definitely. Just keep in mind it is glossly black, and your factory grill is matte black, so this one will make your sedan look more like the Hatchback and Si (which both have glossy black grilles from the factory).
Seriously thinking about getting this for my Type R. That solid piece restricts air flow, half the grill is non functional on a car that gets hot really quickly

do you need new bumper clips?
It is possible to reuse them, you are more likely to lose one than break it. But a good idea to have spares handy just in case.
