    If you have ethanol in your area, just get Ktuner, and a E35-E40 mix blend tune. Rear motor mount, PRL intake, and intercooler. At this point, with just those mods.. you would max out the stock turbo when tuned correctly. 270-280WHP/330-335TQ on dyno jet

      @@NEO_Trojanmuldrop4 the motor handles it fine.
      However, stock turbo + ethanol + boost = higher cyl pressure = possible head lift.
      I had my studs stretch. Had to replace them with ARP studs, and a new gasket. Runs great still.

    The SI just isn't super popular so it's nice to see someone who isn't a super defensive SI owner trying to convince you it was a good decision ("...I haven't put it on a dyno yet BUT I *can* tell you these side skirts have done a *lot*). I have an SI and I like it. I have looked for other cars and I am still considering getting rid of my 2017 SI but it's growing on me, again. But every other SI video (but this one) just made me want to get something else.

    • @pigeon1519
      @pigeon1519 4 года назад +1

      On 91, you should definitely be seeing higher numbers then that. The si is marketed at 205, the k tuner, you should already be reaching 240-250 Whp. The cobra intake advertises 20 horsepower gains for the race, 15 for the street. And im not sure about the other mods but you should at least be hitting 270-270

    • @nielsjacobsen5125
      @nielsjacobsen5125 4 года назад +2

      @@pigeon1519 the SI is marked 205 at cranck not wheels. The +6 map is no way near 40+50HP on 91 Period. I got a non SI and at +8psi it puts down 216HP with 95 octane(called 100 here in EU) . The intake and intercooler gives more power in the midrange but not at peak, +20HP . Sure he only is going to hit 240-250whp withe the above mods without switching to flexfuel. So mike m you are correct you might be looking at 250 with the mods you have listed, anymore power require turbo or flexfuel.

    The clutch masters is the only clutch available at this time. Also the dual mass flywheel is garbage and will break so best advise is to buy the new one out the gate and save money on dropping your transmission twice. I recently came across more information and need to make a correction. SPEC clutches is now offering clutch kits and flywheel as well.

      Hondata and K-TUNER have maps for the CVT and all these mods can be done to the engine (it's the same engine as the SI) but too much HP/torque will kill the CVT. Anything over 240 HP is probably too much.

      Besides maybe the intercooler, and downpipe, no. You'd be better off going with a PRL Cobra for the intake, anyway, as it makes the most power (compared to other intakes), and runs the best without a tune. The best mods for these cars are Ktuner, ethanol, the PRL Cobra, and an aftermarket clutch.

    • @glennthompson9133

      I suspect that Honda miscalculated the spring pressures or the material for the clutch. My '18 Si has 71,000 mi on it and the clutch slips in 5th and 6th gear above 3,500 rpm if you roll into the boost. I'm pretty sure it's the same clutch that they put in the base model non turbo cars so it just doesn't handle the extra horsepower and torque. Ordered my ACT clutch a couple weeks ago and am just waiting for it to arrive so I can change it and stop worrying about it. I also ordered the lightweight flywheel because I hate the rev hang caused by the heavy weight dual mass piece that comes from the factory.

      Jose Vega I noticed during my own research that people like to get the tune first and run a basemap then change their clutch and add bolt ons after. I’m guessing you can go bolt ons before clutch and just wear out your stock clutch. I’m probably going to keep the stock clutch at first and feel out the mods and get used to them then drop a nicer clutch. I’m probably my going to do all of the above mentioned in prep for a turbo upgrade in the further future.
