    Somehow I missed this video but its succinct and factual. And since 2016 I have implemented this approach with great results! It makes SO much sense and I highly recommend the books. They were essential for me as I am the type that needs to know WHY all this happens. And Norm delivers a great and detailed analysis of the reasons. I am a recovered SIBO, IBS and reflux sufferer thanks to the Fast Tract Diet!

    This is interesting. Could you do a video on this diet about what exactly to eat and not to eat?

    I've dealt with type 1 diabetes since I was 14 months old. I'm the only type one diabetic in my family. I had a double transplant surgery done on August 28th 2017, to cure my type 1 diabetes. The diabetes itself destroyed most of my muscles, nerves, veins and tried to take out most of my organs. I developed gastroparesis in August 2012 and as of August 2024, I was diagnosed with SIBO. In January 2013, I ended up being hospitalized for E-coli found in my blood. I'm thinking somewhere along that line I had developed the SIBO. Do you think that's possible? Please let me know if so. Thanks!

    aaaaaaa I told everyone, the surgeon, my doctor, everyone, that I got lpr symptoms when releasing gas from my stomach (but they didn't care and looked at me like a hypoconder).
    And when I started to swallow these air bubbles instead, my voice got twice better.
    Also I kept telling them it was not food because I could fast for days or even just drink water and still get lpr, and even after not eating a single time in a day I could feel stomach contractions (refluxing) at night. I could even hear litteral sounds in my belly at the middle of the night... wtf (like I had a living parasite in there screaming for food lol)
    Also every time I really struggeled was when having massive relapse just after one meal. I think mby me taking 5 iron tablets at once did it just 2 weeks ago...
    Also for some reason peppes pizza also kills me and makes me relapse to lpr, but much other pizza does nothing bad with my symptoms, especially if home-made... !
    When I did nissed fundoplication, my LPR reduced by alot, and tbh I was more happy with that part than the bettering of the acid reflux part. LPR is the worst... prior to surgery I could talk 1 to 2 hours max and lose my voice for days, it was real hell tbh
    Also idk if it helps but first time my LPR was suddenly was rocket high just after one night (which is when the real hell started) was after I ate a dish that mixes flatbread and christmas rib broth
    (is the same happens now if I eat peppes pizza, not normal pizza but peppes pizza. Also dominos pizza btw)

    After almost every meal while I’m digesting the meal I fall asleep sitting straight up at work. I have bm and then I wake up. It’s like clock work. I’m gonna lose my job.

    I have the fast tract diet app, but it doesn't list brewer's yeast. Where would that fall on the list?

    • @DrNormGutHealth
      @DrNormGutHealth  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, Yes it lists brewer's yeast as well as nutritional yeast and another version from Bob's Red Mill. Try search function or check the supplements table. They all fall between 1 and 2 FP points per serving.

    Doctor , while I get the logic of your approach , it is hardly possible to be on such a diet for vegetarians and vegans . So the solution has to be how to digest these hard to digest carbs than avoid them ?

    • @DrNormGutHealth
      @DrNormGutHealth  2 года назад +7

      I hear you. Controlling the amount of hard to digest but fermentable material in your diet is more challenging for vegetarians and especially vegans. But knowing the FP points of plant-based foods is very helpful for making the best choices - for example, choosing sushi or jasmine rice over brown rice, wild rice or basmati rice. Some vegetarians are more flexible including eggs and fish. They will have an easier time.

    Why would this system be more effective then carnivore?

    • @DrNormGutHealth
      @DrNormGutHealth  7 месяцев назад +1

      The FTD is a system comprised of three parts; controlling the amount of fermentable material (FP points), identifying and addressing underlying causes, and improving pro-digestion behaviors and practices. Carnivore is very low in fermentable material (FP points). Though it's not zero, since you get some carbs in dairy, shellfish, etc. Carnivore is great for some people, but others are not up for that. And while likely healthy, there is a lack of long-term data on full carnivore.

    Sweeet.poatoes should still be good right ? You have to have carbs to build muscle there's no way to put on muscle mass unless you eating more than 2300 calories wich only maintains your body's weight
