Salmon run at EggVP definitely helped me in ranked, I call it Crisis Training. It helps me focus/escape in situations that would otherwise be my downfall.
100% SR is a great place to practice mechanics, especially movement. You get really good at dealing with moving through enemy ink, doing tricky movement around walls, and disengaging and repositioning, that definitely transfers over to PVP. Plus, SR gets so intense in EVP that PVP modes feel so chill in comparison. Having only 4 enemies you need to watch out for in PVP feels pretty stress free. Granted I am only at the beginning of S+, so my rank isn’t that high in PVP. Plus, there are other pros that have dedicated more time to SR that are absolute beasts. Brian is a pro that does a lot of SR videos and the are godly. Also latteboi is another great RUclipsr that shows that clean high-level mechanics really shine in this mode. Their movement is just beautiful. I really feel like dude could be great at this mode if they give it some time to learn the strats and find some of the cracked teammates that exist above EVP 200.

There is more overlap than you suggest. There are differences but it isn’t extremely different. They both require advanced movement, solid aiming, quick thinking, and good situational awareness. I use SR as my mechanics training mode, and I have found it really prepares me for PvP fights. All this video shows is that Dude can fail jumps he isn’t familiar with and wasn’t prepared for the level of knock back that exists in this mode. Take a look at some videos by Brian. They are a high-level competitive player that has been doing a lot of Salmon Run in S3. Also, latteboi has great SR videos with mechanical skill that is next to godly.
There's a really good series her on YT for learning about Salmon Run, theorizing the what strata rn. One BIG TIP I use now is to save a gold egg to shoot at another boss. You can actually one shot fly fish by aiming at the gap right in the middle, right above the pilot.

Not to diss his skill but dapples is a huge chance increase to beat Cohozuna. Like no joke, it has the highest DPS in salmon run after a dodge roll and it melts him. That exact dapples rotation was the first time I beat Cohozuna too, after having done about 80 runs across most of the rotations before it 😂
@@uponeric36 I know what you mean as certain weapons just has better DPS or straight up high firepower. My fastest time on beating a Cohozuna was when I got the Grizzco Stringer, it just obliterated the poor thing.😆 Still, it was impressive since it was his first go and all!

Squiffer is probably one of the better weapons against cohozuna because it has the huge damage multiplier of all charges and the quick charge time so it’s best to just whale on it if you’re able

What a fun video! When I got into salmon run at Profreshional, things just get hectic at times. I get pitiful loss streaks due to very inconsistent randos that are either good or bad like for me it’s not even funny for my perspective.
You can do more damage to Cohozuna by targeting his belly. With weapons, however, they'll do next to nothing if you attack him too much, at which point it's better to hunt bosses until he's vulnerable again.
I’ve made it to evp 210 only 2 times. This latest explosher rotation and some other random one. Explosher on mudmouth and flyfish were perfect. And it’s awesome seeing one of the most competitive players struggle so much. Even more than me. But it won’t be like this for long cause I’m a casual player.

We had someone disconnect and it was on a full boss meter game we somehow won the 3 rounds at executive vp then beat the boss at the last second and we got 10 bronze scales and 1 silver we got scammed
Please do some more SR videos in the future. Not all the time, but at least once a month. It's a nice change of pace and you actually seem human because you aren't destroying the enemy an insane amount of time like when you play ranked lol
8:12 This bit made me realize just how little dude played salmon run back in 2. Grillers used to only drop 3 eggs, but they were so hard to deal with that it was the most difficult wave by far (even if you did everything right you'd still fall short of the quota unless you worked insanely fast). Because of that they were buffed to drop 5 eggs instead back in Splatoon 2, and I guess Dude never ran into Griller wave after the buff, lol

ppl want you to use ur specials but unless you are in a very bad spot using ur specials early can lead to a wave 2 or 3 wipe cause you never know what wave is going to be the hardest

honestly i love salmon run! In S2 i honestly sucked at ranked, the highest i got was S+..5? but in salmon run i was always trying to beat HLM and its soo fun. Same thing in S3 now, i dont really enjoy ranked too much but salmon run feels amazing
