I like seeing dude play the front line because he's so different than some of the other pros. A lot of the other pros run around like crazy and use nutty movement to win fights. But dude just plays it smarts and wins games without the need to do any fancy insane movement. It kind of proves that in this game good game sense and strategy is the most important.
hey DUDE, i've been playing since Splatoon 2 but seeing how you actually think in-game and what I should and shouldn't do depending on my weapon really helps and I see the game in a whole new way! thank you and road to 200k!!
Honestly I've learned that for the most part just have good spacing. I used to be a lot more aggressive and just get up close and splat with my flingza, but vertical flicks can be really effective as it outranges a lot of shooters. Or if you're using a brush or something, getting up and close to your opponent can pressure them out of an area or they panick and you can get an easy splat if you're being smart about your positioning.
First game, while weird, was also a perfect example of "just because you play a slayer doesn't mean you ONLY slay". You recognized that your team was bad at painting, and there were many times where you chose to paint instead of push forward because pushing forward with no paint control would be suicide. Was a really interesting thing to see and reminded me that I should look for situations like that more often when I get "skewed" team comps!
You are the calmest player I have ever seen. Your play style allows you to give a lot of good on spot explanation and reaction which makes it super helpful for beginners. Another nice video. Keep uploading!
dude! i started watching your content from your cameos in @Jaymoji videos and i can say with 100% confidence that im really glad i did 🥰 even though i'm not a competitive player, watching you play is genuinely really cool and i love it every single time i'll try and join your streams when possible. thank you for doing what you do and congrats on 100K subs!
Not dying is more impressive than getting a ton of kills. I play slayer but if I see 3 dudes running at me and I’ve clearly been seen I’m not gonna start firing and hope I can take out 3 people before they can kill me, screw the objective or whatever, disappear and find a way to ambush or otherwise be annoying until you can make a play. This game really rewards not playing it as a traditional shooter.
As a beginner who’s been stuck at B rank for a bit, i wanted to find out how to improve at splatoon a bit, and then i found this channel. Seriously, your way of strategizing has helped me so much while playing myself! You’re such a cool guy Dude!
Jumped in when a month after Splatoon 3 came out. Already failed 10 S to S+ rank up battles, so many 2-3s. Am a splattershot main so looking forward to learn from this! Wont give up!
Love the video, I feel like I try to do this same strategy when I play, just that the teammates I get never follow through with kills. Realizing to not over extend is a great tip though, something I find myself doing too often.
Hey dude, I picked up splatoon 3 for the first time less than a month ago, and your educational content has nearly gotten me to S rank. Love it brother 🤙
Hey dude I was the sm chops in the first game and I was pleased when I splatted you but it’s so interesting seeing your mindset. And it’s even more interesting that because you’re a professional player . Keep up the brilliant content , congrats on 100k
As someone who has always played the slayer role in splatoon I always rely on videos like these to help me make sure I’m doing my role right and not going in too much and dying too much or stay back way too much and not helping with fights, and also to learn things I didn’t know, thank you for making this video! (Also yes I’m a tad bit late but we don’t talk about it :) )
Videos like this are SO helpful. I really appreciate hearing your thought process and why you take certain fights. I am trying to learn to play more aggressively in a smart way (aka…not just running in and trying to fight everything all at once). This is really helpful. More like this please! You rock, Dude!
Solid vid as always. Could you do an inside the mind on positioning and decision-making when playing anchor, especially the super long range ones like e-liter and hydra
DUDE I've been following your content since Splatoon 3 dropped and I've got to say, I love your input on competitive splatoon and your mechanical skill at the game is phenomenal! I'm soo glad you fixed the title for this series! The description still says 'Inside the mind'
I started watching competitive splatoon about a year and a half ago when I used to play casual since splatoon 1 but this has gotta be one of the most helpful videos yet as a splattershot main for years. I would always just rush ahead and go for as many picks as possible while my the rest of my team push objective but now I know when to take fights and when to give jumps etc. Appreciate it man!
In a way, the way I play Slayer weapons is pretty much observing then push while the team is busy. Not much of being supported so how you said it is how I see where my mistake goes.
Another banger video once again, DUDE. Finally got to S+ with the tips you said so thank you very much and LETS GOOO! I'm so ready to reach S+50 even though i'll suffer haha. Love your videos DUDE, can't wait for the next In The Mind! Hope to make it to streams soon since sembreak is coming :DDD
Aaaayy let's go! A video to help me get better with Splattershot! I already got to S+0 using Hydra Splatling. Very satisfying weapon to use. But I need a change of pace and I've been challenging myself to use weapons I don't normally use. Keeps me from getting bored of the game and helps me get better :)
I know it's just a game, but seeing this dude play really does inspire me to get better :) Been playing since 2 but fell off a couple years, so I feel like a complete noob again.. lol Also Dude only has 100k?? Get this man more subs 👏
Can you make an Inside the Mind guide on how to keep your wits about you and not panic in fights? I think it'd be really helpful (like all these Inside the Mind guides) to players like me who are relatively new to Splatoon.
Hey DUDE, the biggest thing I learned this video was to have patience when your slaying. I’m very much of a rush in type of player and since this is a very fast pace game I thought if I wasn’t I’d lose all the time. It’s important to assess the enemy team and know when and when-not to challenge people. THANKS A TON #Dude200K
What that hell man! I watch a few of your videos, and practice/implement what you explain and show....and I git gud. First is was your video on knowing when to attack/defend, then it was the motion control video, NOW THIS! Hell, I went into my first Anarchy Series an hour ago in Splatoon 3 with 4 wins 3 lose, Ranked up from B- to B, AND GOT A DAMN TROPHY! Stop it. I'm gettin gud and leaving my comfy casual baby Turf War position.
The disconnecting thing? That happened to me. I got a super jumper and got the kill message and he kept going and killed me. Then the end screen froze and disconnected me. That was the last game till s rank. I got the next game though. I’m silver. Yay
Hey Dude, great video as always. While it isn’t as big of a topic as which fights to engage in, I was wondering if you could do an Inside the Mind or maybe just a small video on how you use the map more mid-match. I see you pulling it up somewhat frequently, and I don’t really know why since I just use it to superjump after I die lol. Keep up the great work!
Although I know the reason why, I still agree. Would love to see this video. And to answer your question, pulling up the map allows you to see the main gear slot for everyone. It gives you a general opinion of how your opponent and even your own teammates are going to play. If someone has ninja squid, they’re probably gonna be more front line. If they have sub save or power, they’ll probably be tossing out a bunch of bombs. If someone has bomb defense or ink resist, they’re probably gonna play back line and be more passive. Also, the map shows your teammates location as well as anyone they’re currently engaging with. Always try to keep track of where all your opponents are. If you can’t find someone, see if someone’s not already engaging with them. Map also shows ink coverage so if you ever engage, you know your exits. Left side of map is painted so exit that way; right side is not painted, do not retreat that way. Once you put all this together, you can start formulating plans. Example: right side is painted but enemy tri-slosher with ninja squid just got a pick so will probably paint a little and shark; not safe to engage right side of map until another teammate helps. Stuff like that
I was wondering if you could make a video talking about the general playstyle of the weapon types (shooters, sloshers, chargers, etc.) I would love to see something like that
This is great and all. But how does a short range slayer play effectively against a team with a good eliter player or good charger? On an open map like hammerhead or Mahi or on some modes museum. That literally splats you whenever you try to get close to throw bombs. Those matches are always instant losses for me if my team doesn't have a long range weapon to fight back.
use any cover possible to defend yourself against the charger, if you have a special that can make people move consistently (killer wail, tenta missiles) make sure to target the charger with them for a few seconds to move without cover, it’s really damn hard
@@lilybun2 the issue is I don't have those specials on the weapons I use. My teammates don't bother trying to get the charger either. They just run at the other short range enemies and get killed/the charger gets them. It's stupid how much the maps favor chargers
Would a splatana stamper (not wiper) be a good slayer? This weapon is my baby but I really don't know how to play as effectively as a splat roller (my main from past games)
I finaly found a pair of stealth jump shoes but i already have em with special charge up... so i gess no stealth for me at least untill i find it in other shoes
Can you do a video on tips for beginners who r struggling to find other splatoon 3 players to play in tournaments with 😅- or something along those lines- ye thx
I usually main inkbrush but I’ve been using the splatana stamper in splatoon 3, do you have any tips for flanking or contesting objectives for that weapon? You would think it would be very similar to the brushes playstyle but I find it a little hard to use in some situations, especially with the zip caster as a special
hi pls can you do a video on different weapon roles? I want to make x rank in 3 but i get confused when you say that players gonna be anchor like what does that mean lol
I used it a lot back in Splatoon 2, but only the “Neo” version that comes with the Beakon and Missiles, so let me give you my take on that one, just in case they add Neo Sploosh-o-matic with the same set in Splatoon 3’s future update. I went with a Swim Speed + Special Charge Up focus build - breaking into the enemy’s home turf to plant beakons for my teammates while painting as much as I could. I would also avoid most fights, relying mostly on sneak attacks (even without the Ninja Squid) or after unloading the missiles. For ranked matches, I played quite similarly, placing beakons in advantageous points and building up specials to launch as many missiles as I could to assist. Since the Sploosh paints really fast and cover a lot of ground in front of you, it’s really perfect to make a quick getaway. I don’t know how many times it saved me from being ganged up on, being able to paint and run off super quick, which I can also use myself as a bait to lure enemies into my teammates to let them do the killing blow. It’s a really good “support” weapon in my opinion. The base Sploosh in Splatoon 3 is all right, too. It definitely pairs well with Ninja Squid, provided you can get close to the enemies quickly enough, as even other close ranged weapons like the Brushes are easier to close the gap on the enemies (especially since Brushes can disorient the enemies with all the ink being sprayed about). Of course the classic follow-the-curling-bomb trick and pop up to splat the enemies works, too, but you can’t get someone in a single attack, so it’s not as good as using a Roller. Lastly, the Ultra Stamp, I feel as if the vulnerability timing is wider and I found myself getting splatted from a frontal fight more often than in Splatoon 2. So it feels kinda “unsafe” to use it in Splatoon 3…
taking the tower is the backliners job, not the slayer in a case where there isnt a backliner, the weapon most effective for defense is the best choice (long range, crab tank/bubbler e.t.c) game 1 would be sloshing machine to help with fizzy bombs from the back, game two would be the splatling, game three either rapid or junior
