In this video, I'm testing out the EsseEsse Abarth 500 that I bought from Shifting Metal subscriber, Julien. This EsseEsse upgrade kit has to be fitted by a Fiat dealer within 12 months of the car being registered and gets a special stamp in the service book! Check out whether I think the extra £2500 was well spent back in 2010!

Smart looking little cars and that one has some grunt! It's actually more fun driving a nippy little motor when they are well balanced, the future is small!
I serviced that car for my brother last Summer in my workshop here in France cleaned the underside and waxoiled it too along with a new BMC air filter.
It's a good little car.

So want an Abarth but just not practical for my day to day needs as to small so will need to wait a few more years.
Great video Joe, miss Luigi the esseesse had some fun with that car. It certainly puts a smile on your face and the exhaust note is addictive! Always got around the 40 mpg in sport mode glad you spotted the TTC button.

Had a couple of Italian cars that steam up when the air cons of. If you leave the air con off for a while I find it eventually clears up. Trouble is the problem returns every time you turn it on/off again. Other thing it might be is on a fiat I had before as part of the AQS it has a motorised flap to let fresh air in / recirculate. This of course breaks and so would sometimes leave it stuck shut hence constantly fogging up.

Great car but i think the ride is rough, for me anyway, but they are alot of fun.

Hi I'm midway into purchasing an abarth 500 essesse but like the car your covering here in your video the car I'm purchasing hasn't got drilled brembo brakes so I'm sceptical as to whether I'm buying a standard abarth that's had some essesse bits added on or cloned ? Is there a way to authenticate the car as I'm paying a pretty premium for the car ?
There should be a Fiat/Abarth stamp in the service book from when the kit was fitted
