Just picked up a 2003 Cayenne S with 260,000km (161,556 miles) for AU$3000 (GBP1584) so I did slightly better, considering that the average price here is far higher than the UK. It does have a few small issues (needs rear tyres, broken bonnet cable, old wrap needs to be removed, radiator expansion tank leaks) but I'm very pleased with the value. Thanks for the review, I know what to look forward to when I pick her up next week.
You are a clever guy, arm chair critics will always be out there, I enjoy watching what you get, yes it is a big gamble with used cars, but I think a gamble that will always leave with at least something, if not your dream come true vehicle. I say just keep on doing what you do best. I just brought a 2005 Cayenne Turbo, I think they really are under valued. I look forward to more content from you, I also recently brought a Fiat 500 Abarth in red... I have a BMW i3 REX coming soon... Take a bow, you have inspired me to follow my passion.
I picked up a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S last year and spent months turning it into an off-road monster. These are modern classics for sure. Love the looks. Enjoy!
I’d love one of these for doing long distance journeys (which I do fairly regularly) but I don’t think I could stomach the fuel cost right now. I generally hate SUVs but I’ve always liked these.
One thing you need to do is leave it in auto mode but manually downshift with the buttons on the wheel to get it to 1st. These cars always start in second and hurts the 0 - 60 acceleration.
Do not apologize to anyone, you did nothing wrong! It’s yo’re hard work, money and cars. You can brag all you want and keep making interesting car videos. I enjoy them.
Love these. Bore scoring and coolant pipe issues were the only real issues on the 4.5. CD ROM based Nav at that age. SIM card slot to the left of the PCM screen above the Repeat button. Push it and it’ll pop out. 👍
Great vid Never thought you come across as bragging, if anything more the opposite , humble , Honest, decent, transparent and funny in your quirky style of humour
Lots of car for little money and sounds awesome!! Needs bigger wheels to fill the arches. Wouldn't like the fuel consumption though! Enjoyed the video 👍
19mpg is still better than my old evo ( 2.0L 300bhp 4wd auto) that did 16mpg on average! 610£ a year road tax for a two litre!!😂 Overall another great vid joe, don't take what people say to heart, if you don't take risk there's no chance of reward
If you plan to keep it see if it has had the plastic coolant pipes replaced, they will fail, the ones that sit between the V of the engine, it is a big job to change them, they can fail dramatically or if they leak gradually they can drip onto the torque converter over time and trash it. No air suspension on it is one less headache. They are awesome, love driving it
My old boss had one of these when they came out, I remember he took it to Porsche for a service and the service cost close to what you paid for the car! You got a bargain there, hope you get a good turn at it. Great channel btw
Also you are 100% right, you are taking a risk, I buy cars at the auction I've got lucky and I've got burned, so hearing you talk about it rings true. You have to take chances.
As a fairly new subscribers loving your honesty and rants👍 I love that V8 noise definitely worth taking a punt as you say worth a lot if just broken up. Looks like it's been cared for
I looked up when auto playing, missing start of video and tittle.. I thought it was a 2005ish audi a3. When you said it was nice I thought must be 1.8T. Must be colour and angle. Hope I'm not only one ha Great content pal.
Not my type of thing. But so many have been horribly abused - this example to have survived in this condition 20 years on seemingly looks to have been loved and well treated for most of its life and I can see why you were drawn to it. There aren't a great number of good early Cayennes left - I can see it as a nice car for pottering around on a weekend.
Great commentary I seen plenty of guys on RUclips and I give you 5 star 🌟 good luck in your channel How about getting a LPG conversion mpg will jump to double and engine will last longer make sure you also fit oil drip to LPG THANKS Chris
It looks better then most the square cars they are for sale now it should keep it’s value my wife’s 03 Ford Focus ebony has front heated leather sets but she never turns them on so to get my own back when she gets in my Astra I turn the air-con on and the heath off😂

Great bargain and a lot of car for the money. Probably a strange question but just wondered if you had trade plates attached to the cars when driving for the videos?
This is a nice car and at a bargain price. I have a pal, who, like myself, does a very minimal annual mileage and it's a great shame that the annual road tax for such vehicles is £600+. I only have a small turbo diesel hatchback, which is over £300 and his rarely used Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 crdi is in the aforementioned £600 bracket. For us both, it'd be better if fuel duty increased and road tax was scrapped altogether. Some chance ! Even electric cars are going to be clobbered now.
I was just wondering how much would you buy a 16 2.2turbo diesel CDti with full service history and 25000 miles on the clock and very good pint work and good wheels
amazing car at that price, it looks well. I think if fuel cost is not an issue it's a great option. the interior of Porsche have that touch of class, looks effortless, clearly is not though. what are your views on second and Porsche's in general? more bother than they are worth? or a shrewd choice? particularly at the lower price point? All best.
I think the service intervals are every 2 years or 20k. Many Yanks would have an aneurysm with the distance between oil changes, insisting it must be changed every 3k or maybe in 5k if there're feeling brave!
Yeah, but their oil quality is often terrible and its questionable if their often used "drive in oil change"-place even changes the oil sometimes. Still, its probably mostly an old myth that lives on over there.
No! I couldn’t stomach the fuel economy for daily use. I always like the idea of keeping the cars I really like but in reality I always seem to sell them, if they don’t have an explicit purpose!
Lpg is a dying brand, I have an lpg car and its getting harder to find stockist and there's strong rumour that this government is planning to ban the sale of gas in 2-3 years 🙄
7.6 to 60mph is not brilliant for a V8 with 340 bhp considering my old Saxo VTS which was only a 1.6 16v would do that obviously on top speed the Porsche would overtake a Saxo but yeah you did well for £2 grand as nowadays theres nothing much out there for that money unless you get a little Citroen C1 or a Suzuki Alto not exactly Premium Porsches lol
Power to weight is what makes low speed acceleration numbers, and considering its over twice the weight of your saxo, its bang on for what can be expected for its time period.
That is probably very true and I've definitely experienced that. Bought a Boxster for £1500 last year then spent as much on a new roof and upholstery! 😅

That's why I bought a 2000 Boxster S for a weekend toy. I love it. Go drive a Turbocharged Cayenne and get back to us. I'm researching early Cayennes now. I plan on getting one in the next year.
