    Engines are common throughout VAG range, main problems are the oil cooler leaking coolant in the V, injector seals and if its not had regular oil changes, the dredded timing chain rattle. Should be a ZF8 box too? If so thats due its 2nd service. I bet its never had its first one though😅

      I bought a vauxhall insignia with £15k of extras. It was a vauxhall employees car and the extras are a tax dodge, too difficult to fully explain but basically when he buys the car from vauxhall at the end of 18/24 months then they discount the valuation based on min spec car by cost of extras. Ie basic price new 35k, extras 15k. Valuation after 2 years 20k, price paid by employee 20k - 15k = 5k.

      @Mac_F87 mm still put pressure on the gearing inside the box and it wasn't built as a hand rest so even the slightest bit of weight will not do either boxes any good over time !! Suppose it could be said it's neclagable of just how much damage it could cause !

    • @Mac_F87
      @Mac_F87 21 день назад

      @ you seem to be confusing the ZF8 or modern automatic with the old cable actuated automatic gearboxes. The ZF8 or modern automatic is electronically actuated. I’ve had 3 cars with a ZF8 gearbox now. No amount of pressure on the gear selector is transmitted to the gearbox. As I’ve said, there is zero physical link between the selector and gearbox. So pressure applied to the selector isn’t in turn transmitted to the gearbox. The TCM only allows change between park, drive and manual mode which in turn allows gear changes via paddles, is fitted, and tiptronic (nudging the gear selector) nothing in between.
      The only physical link is the manual park release cable for if the car loses battery power so it can be towed etc.

      Yes, I'm the same, sold a mint low miles mii the other week, non recorded, hpi clear from a national auction, 1 owner, only no, it'd gone thru copart last year as a cat s with rear wing damage, customer paid for a full check and there was hell to pay, they went nuts, I did a refund sharpish, auction didn't want to know, I'd paid top clean money for a cat s. Insurance companies actually don't have to tell hpi.

    Mate do yourself a favour and just pay the 100 for a copart membership then bid on them when they’re crashed you get a lot better prices and some cat S are literally replace the wing or door and you’re good. I’d say don’t go front end damage because there’s so many parts to get, go rear or side (but try keep localised damage don’t get one where it’s been wacked front back and side). We’ve done a few cayennes always paid less than 9k and last one was a 2017..

    Any way you have a second chance you can buy my 2018 discovery 2,0d hse luxury in black, massive spec a lot more modern inside than the porsche it's done 52000 and can be yours for £24000 the hse luxury has about same spec as your cayenne but the another £10k on top in extras

      @leedstown 21 день назад

      @Dan-78 around £26k for a 2018 hse luxury but then mine has 22"alloys most are 21" mine has Digital cockpit most have standard round clocks, mine has fully painted bumoers and side mouldings, the rear bumper looks awful when standard, don't compare with a standard hse the lux has Opening pan roof it doesn't open on a hse plus front and rear heated and cooled seats, lane assist, self parking, Adaptive breaking, electric fold up and down second and third row seating, Windsor extended leather,, Tvs in headrests , cruise control, electric boot open and close etc
