    I've had this game since the 90's, and a couple times dug it out of my box around 2015 to play with some people who had never seen it and were used to their ps4's with amazing graphics... But when we played this we would always get super into it and laugh and shout at each other... Sometimes it's the simple games that are the best.

    The first time I played this game, it was while renting it for a weekend from my local store. I ended up buying the game when they were selling their n64 games to make room for ps2 rentals. I still have the truck the game came with

    I just noticed that you are the one and only game reviewer on my subscription list. I don't know how you do it, but I find your reviews very engaging. Usually I only watch reviews on games I've already played but I find I come back every time a new upload comes up. I get excited because it's almost as if I forget you even exist until I see your videos pop up. This is also the first time I've glanced at your subscriber count since subing too and, my goodness, you've grown 3 times as big. Congratulations. Keep up the good work.

    I have this game for 1 reason. 2 Player mod with tanks. Race and shoot against eachother on a dining table. It's simple but damn so much fun. MUST have for the multiplayer N64 gamer.

    I never played the Micro Machines games on the Sega Genesis. But would absolutely love to play it and own it on my collection, as well as the European exclusive Turbo Tournament on the Mega Drive, after seeing multiple gameplay videos on RUclips. I happened to stumble across Micro Machines 64 Turbo at one of my local retro game stores at a very cheap price. The fact that they kept the classic overhead view was awesome. I'll be sure to pick this one up.

    I absolutely loved this game since day 1. The courses were all so well thought out and I often played them just to see the cool effects like being sent through that science experiment in your video. Don't know how I was so good it it back then because now I get frustrated at the bad camera angles and extremely touchy controls.

    Now this is a series I haven't seen in ages. I used to play Micro Machines on CD-I of all things and it's one of the few worthwhile games on the system. I've never heard of this entry before, but I'll definitely be on the lookout for it now. The lack of music while racing irks me a bit, as it feels like a lazy way of getting around the limitations of the cartridge format, much like what happened with Duke Nukem 64.

    I remember playing this game with a family friend (a crush of mines at the time) dropped by my place. I would always go easy on her lol. I loved the game but traded it in for Mario Kart 64. They are both great games. Hope Nintendo could make a sequel to this on the Switch

    I just recently bought Micro Machines Turbo 64, and at first I was turned off by how loose the controls were. But with enough time, I managed to get used to them a little. Pretty sure with enough time, I'll be able to master it. Mind you, I never played the original Genesis game, nor the European Mega Drive exclusive Turbo Tournament, but would LOVE to! Turbo 64, as hard as it is, isn't a bad game at all!

    **EDIT**
    I feel like I didn't buy it, because i assumed that it would be from a rear-cam perspective, like the majority of racing games on the console. Pleasantly surprised by this!

Worth playing even today especially if you like playing with friends in your actual room huddled around a big tube tv having a few drinks and great fun! I wish more people loved playing split screen then i could invite them to mine for some goldeneye and mario kart tournaments :)

    i got this with my nintendo 64 which my nan got for around july 1999 if i remember likely. got it from some add in freeadds . cant remember all the games it came with, but it was bloody many. and if i remember likely she got it all for £160. shamefully in 2001 my nans house got robbed and i lost everything =/ still pissed about that haha. didnt start over again until like 2008. some of the games i still ain't got becaue of how pricey they are.. Makes me sad that some crack head went on to sell it all to some other twat for way to cheap.

    This game always felt like a letdown after the Mega Drive ones. The cars / courses lacked inertia / speed and the features were cut down too (there was 8 player without a multitap too). Having said that I did play the PS1 original of this a lot back in the day and have this N64 version sat ready to try out so it'll be interesting to see how it compares in terms of feel.

  • @Imgema
    @Imgema 8 лет назад

    As far as i know (and correct me if im wrong) the PS1 version runs at 60fps. If that's true, it makes this version an inferior port. Which is a shame considering the stronger hardware.

    • @lordmaximus780
      @lordmaximus780 8 лет назад

      The ps1 version does look sharper but didn't realise there was a framerate difference as well. Looking it up though the PS1 was running at 60fps and there is no mention of it doing the same on the N64.

    • @FranciscoFJM
      @FranciscoFJM 6 лет назад

      The PS1 does indeed run at 60 fps but there´s framerate drops everywhere, so maybe locking it to 30fps was the best idea for the N64 version. Also the n64 version looks betterm the cars have a higher poly count and the particle effects are much more realistic

    • @BazTheStoryteller
      @BazTheStoryteller 8 лет назад

      The music is different, the characters don't look as good and the gameplay was not as good. The PS1 version was more crisp and feels better in my opinion. Much like A Bug's Life and Gex, some games were made for the PS1. But for the N64 versions of those games, it's like trying to put Crash Bandicoot on the N64.

    • @Dosunceste
      @Dosunceste 8 лет назад +1

      Baz The Storyteller Why was the gameplay not as good? Lower framerate or lag in the controls? I ask because I am interested in buying the N64 version but have only ever tried the PS1 version.
      BTW Crash Bandicoot wouldn't be problematic to port to N64, it would have probably missed the FMVs and had lowered quality music though.
      On the other hand fighting games (due to N64 pad layout) and adventure games with big assets (due to cartridge space limitation) would have been problematic to port over N64.

    • @FranciscoFJM
      @FranciscoFJM 6 лет назад

      The PS1 version had better music and the characters looked better because they were rendered with CGI. But when it comes to gameplay, the N64 version looks better and runs better, also the difficulty was balanced in the N64 version because the PS1 can be extremely cheap sometimes.

    This game is definitely one that requires a crap ton of hours to master, yet so incredibly tedious and boring to bother with. The decision, by it's developers, to force such camera angles, blows my mind. This is an easy pass for me.
