Mate, Iggys was my all time favourite N64 game. The trippy music and overall strangeness of the game was unbeatable for getting high with friends and playing 4 player. Loved it!
I LOVED Battletanx, one of my most played N64 games for sure. It was so damn fun. I remember when I learned you could change the control scheme to rotate the tank's turret without having to turn the entire thing, for the medium tank, my mind was blown.
I loved Goemons Great adventure. Its up there as my favorite N64 games. B: 2nd Attack is probably top 2 favorite game on the system. Bomberman Hero was great too. That game was fun and the music is dope af.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who played Goemon. When I first heard the name I was like, "I think I played that one when I was younger..." and then the song from it played and it struck some chord inside me and at that moment I knew I had for sure.
As others have said, I'd put my vote in to cover more Bomberman games. Out of those, Bomberman Hero would be a great choice to look at simply because of how great it's soundtrack and gameplay are
The world is not enough is not only my favorite bond movie but the video game was a huge part of my childhood I remember inviting friends over to play the multiplayer matches and the opening level in the lobby is really fun to mess around in. Highly underrated bond game.
I fucking LOVED battletanx as a kid. Still is fun to go back every so often and do some janky split screen co-op for a few rounds before it gets old again.
One of my earliest memories of playing games was playing the multiplayer the 2nd one and on this one level where one of the spawns is in this big empty building I once spawned a ton of those gun turret power ups outside of the building while pretending to pause the game while my nephew went to the bathroom so that he'd be annihilated the moment he left the building.
I think Vigilante 8 is one that's forgotten a lot and so underrated, I played that game for HOURS. Re-Volt is another often overlooked one but is also a good time, it's pretty much a MarioKart clone but it has it's own twist and I haven't really seen anything similar since.
007: TWINE and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour are both so good! Super overlooked. Glad you mentioned them. If you liked Zero Hour, check out Time To Kill on the PS1. It's also a 3rd Person duke game, and a pretty damn good one.
Time to Kill is the best game of the PS1 imo It is as if they took Tomb Raider and made it actually fit for having combat sections, the level design is fun too A remake/remaster would probably sell really well
I literally screamed when you brought up iggy's wrecking balls! I played the ever loving shit out of this game as a kid and 100% it several times. I also played the shit out of snowboard kids 2. such a good game. so shitty that the attempt at a sequel on the 3ds totally missed the point.
I remember when McDonald's had video game kiosks, Iggy's Wrecking Balls was the only really fun game they had. I only played it a handful of times, but it was enough to win over my heart. My favorite character was always the giant mouth guy.
The N64 is the easiest way to push my "childhood nostalgia button", and the second you talked about "Weird racers" I knew you were gonna be talking about Iggy's. One of my all-time favorite games, weird as that is. Mission Impossible is actually super underrated as well.
Dude I would totally play a modern port of Iggy’s! That game was the shit! This whole video was a blast of joyful nostalgia for me, thanks for taking the time to put it together!
Man, I remember renting Goemon from Blockbuster, and not knowing what to do. I remember this Power Ranger sequence where I was fighting this giant robot, lol. The World Is Not Enough is a great game. I did my best to beat each level to unlock things. This game was also great because it had A.I to play along/against with friends. When playing the multiplayer mode we would pick the characters with the highest health to shoot at; Jaws looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I remember that one level, where you are escaping an explosion, I couldn't figure out what to do. I kept running, and side running to have the door shut in my face each time, xD.
I was a PS and PC kid, but everyone I knew who had a N64 had Body Harvest and nobody actually seemed to like it all that much. I have no idea how it ended up in everyone's collection.
HYBRID HEAVEN!!! I have been trying to remember the name of this game for basically 15 years because it's so bonkers you can't even explain it to anyone else.
"Not that anyone want's to play Body Harvest in 2021" Literally 2 minutes before clicking this video I was thinking about Body Harvest and how I wanna set it up.
I was just thinking about how Zero Hour never gets covered in this kind of lists... and lo and behold, here it is ten seconds after!! To this day I still consider it the *only* game where Duke could be considered an actual character and not just a walking collection of oneliners.
BattleTanx is so often overlooked but they were one of the most consistently played multi-player games on N64 in my house growing up. My brother and cousin and our friends must have put in hundreds of hours in the multi-player modes.
Coming as a fan of the ssx series (mostly 3, but i have some hours with 2012 and a few others). It made me overjoyed to see you mention the need for a new game in the series. Not to mention my nostalgia for n64 and you covering several that i have many great memories with. Truly a hell of an introduction to the channel. Great vid, new subscriber earned tenfold.
New to your channel Austin. I’m a 33 year old life-long gamer. I grew up playing my older brother’s Atari and NES and even though I missed the arcade heydays of the 80’s arcades were still pretty big when I was a kid. I was much more into PS than N64, my brother got me into the FF games and my eldest brother is an electrical engineer that actually helped design the PS2 and I got a free one before it was released from him. I have played most of these N64 games however. Weekends back then meant going to a friend’s with an N64 playing some multiplayer golden eye for 4 hours or so, burning some CDs and then going to blockbuster to rent 3-4 games and rock out to some music. Those were the days.
I had Iggys when I was a kid. Played it with a friend. It was so much fun. The stages where difficult and interesting, the gameplay was special, unlockables. Tons of fun 😁
Battletanx Global Assault is my favorite N64 game after Ocarina. My sister and I still beat it yearly on Christmas like we have for 20+ years. Great nostalgia
I LOVE Snowboard Kids! I was the only one in my group of friends who played it and for years nobody ever knew what it was. So I’m very happy to know I wasn’t the only one! (Same for Extreme G btw!)
Yes!! Thank you for showing some love to Hybrid Heaven!! I was convinced nobody remembered it, or even heard of it. I remember really loving the wrestling moves you could do in it, as I was a huge wrestling fan at the time. (It was peak attitude era, so who wasn’t???) It was one of my favs for the N64 as a kid.
Regarding *BattleTanx* - I owned this game when I lived on the island of Roi-Namur on the Kwajalein Atoll '99-2000 (it is well worth your time to Google that up - it's a cool place, with all kinds of forgotten history from WWII). There is ZERO to do out there when you work night shifts and have a night off after you get tired of going for moonlit walks on a tropical island beach... and, you get bored. My fellow night shift friends, or just solo - I would stay up all night playing BattleTanx, getting shit faced on Captain Morgan rum, and eating coconut crabs. It was a hell of an adventure for a 22 year old!
Fun fact about that World is Not Enough game. In multiplayer, all choosable characters are designated as being either “good” or “evil”. Which, okay, whatever. Here’s the thing though. The developers, for WHATEVER insane reason, decided to program the game to where any “good” character could not ever compete against another “good” character (but “evil” characters can). This means that in team battles, it pretty much always had to be a team of good characters vs a team of evil characters, or evil character vs evil characters. Pretty limited, but it kinda fits a theme so in a way it kinda works. Quirky, but manageable. Ah, but here’s the kicker. That stipulation. It ALSO applies to FREE FOR ALLS. Meaning, that in any free-for-all fights (which, from my experiences at least, is how _most_ people played back then) only ONE person could play as a good character. Good cannot fight good, so it forces everyone else to pick an evil character. I’d _love_ to know what the reasoning behind that bizarre and boneheaded decision. I’m also pretty sure that that’s a major factor to why the game is so forgotten nowadays, as it did put a major damper on the multiplayer experience. PS: Also, as an aside, if you choose the ski lift level with guided missiles in team matches, so long as everyone playing is at least semi competent, it’s impossible for the team that spawns in the downhill building to win, as there’s practically nowhere there you can go to to hide from the missiles. Might could hide in a room toward the back…but then you’d be stuck there as there’s absolutely no safe path for you to get to the other team because the other team can see _everything._ With the uphill building at least you have visible cover on the roof. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.
The fact that I was given Hybrid Heaven as a Christmas gift when I was like 7 is rather hilarious to me now. I was so totally lost trying to play it back then.
15:45 Running your N64 to the point of overheating because you don't have a save cartridge for Quest64. Made it to the water boss, in a single Saturday, only to have it all wiped out because of a power outage. That pain is still fresh, all these years later...
I'm so glad Snowboard kids was mentioned, I remember renting an N64 from blockbuster back in the day and leaving it on all weekend to try and beat it because it didn't come with a memory cartridge.
One cool thing i realized (since i didn't know about raguka kids) is that the green bear with cannons glued to him appears as a special easter egg in castlevania circle of the moon twice: first as the bear ring (which has his face and is essentially a joke item since it reduces all your stats by a 100 points) and you can full-on transform into him by using the DSS combination of pluto and black dog while wearing it. The regular effect of the card combination is turning into a skeleton and throw bones just like the enemy, except you have the chance of throwing a giant bone that deals more damage than anything in the game.
Bomberman 64 The Second Attack is fantastic, I'm very glad to see someone else out there gets it. Seriously, that game is a favorite of that entire generation for me.

@@QuadinarosLS You absolutely smashed the nail on the head my friend
I've played iggy.
I forgot about iggy.
I want to forget about iggy again.
I...actually played Iggy's Wrecking Ball. It was one of those games I never owned but would rent 30 times from Blockbuster whenever it was there...which was always because look at it.
Same
Me and me sister rented it so often our local blockbuster told us we could just have it because nobody else ever rented it except for us
My neighbors owned a video store and had a garage sale when they went out of business,so I scooped up that one and robotron 64! RIP video mex, vista, CA
My neighbor had it, and it was one of three games we played alongside Mario kart and super smash. Iggy's was far and away our favorite
Watching Austin Eruption videos while wrapping presents and putting up the Christmas tree/decorations. I do this every year and it's a great tradition (:
No one cares what you’re doing
@@HistoryandReviews Yes we do.
I was gonna get mad that you didn't mention Rocket, then you did. Thanks for recognizing the dozens of us that remember this gem!
BattleTanx Global Assault is ingrained into my psyche, so many nights spent beating the campaign in coop and multiplayer with my brother. "Nuke Deployed" *tink* *tink* *tink* .... BOOOM. That, the teleport sound, the bouncing betties sound, hell each of the pickup/weapon sounds hit me hard with nostalgia.
Battle tankx
Blast Corps
Hotwheels turbo racing
Golden eye
Xena warrior princess
WrestleMania 2000
Rogue squadron
Shadow of the empire
And clay fighters weree my favorite games
Always makes me smile to see a new upload. Having a rough day but this is cheering me up. Thank you!
I hope everything gets better for you. I wish you all the best and hope that your best days are ahead :)
Same!!!!!
The fact that you shouted out Snowboard Kids 2 made my entire week! I rented that game so much from Blockbusters. That's a true hidden gem right there.
Here's hoping you don't get hate-bombed like your last video. God forbid you go for a sponsorship deal and get paid for the good work you do. You make some solid content, my friend.
I think it got a lot of dislikes cause it just wasn't a good video. I don't mind sponsorships but I had to click out of that video but I didn't dislike it.
The 64 has such a weird lineup, I love that I only knew some of these games.
Mate, Iggys was my all time favourite N64 game. The trippy music and overall strangeness of the game was unbeatable for getting high with friends and playing 4 player. Loved it!
I LOVED Battletanx, one of my most played N64 games for sure. It was so damn fun. I remember when I learned you could change the control scheme to rotate the tank's turret without having to turn the entire thing, for the medium tank, my mind was blown.
...... holy crap I forgot about that.....
i will never forget the classic line "its time to kick ass and chew bubblegum.. and im all out of gum now" - Duke Nuke'Em
Time to Kill is the best game of the PS1 imo
It is as if they took Tomb Raider and made it actually fit for having combat sections, the level design is fun too
A remake/remaster would probably sell really well
Excellent video. Just got back into restoring my old N64 and have been having a blast playing the old games and even some I hadn’t played before!
Same video...but with *DREAMCAST* 😍🥰
Iggy's Wreckin Balls was a cool Monkeyball-esque thing before Monkeyball was even conceived.
(I could be wrong here.)
Thank you for still loving this glover homie :')
no probs, fellow glover homie
Dude I would totally play a modern port of Iggy’s! That game was the shit! This whole video was a blast of joyful nostalgia for me, thanks for taking the time to put it together!
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is in my opinion the best tactical role playing game ever made. Even better than Final Fantasy Tactics.
Best comment
The boxart is amazing
PLEASE MORE GOEMON VIDS. I dont wanna have to be a youtuber, but sometimes I feel like the only person who loves it.
N64 had some of the most unique games of just about any console. Wish they would still experiment like they did.
Fighter Destiny is an underrated gem, that narrator and that music were awesome. I would like you to give it some love
Tetrisphere really was the best puzzle game on the N64, happy to see it gets some love on this vid
HYBRID HEAVEN!!! I have been trying to remember the name of this game for basically 15 years because it's so bonkers you can't even explain it to anyone else.
I remember being blown away when i played conker. One of the best surprises in Nintendo history for me along with goldeneye and eternal darkness.
"Do you like having the ability to see?" in an ad read is terrifying on multiple levels.
Battle tanx was one of my favourites growing up. Used to play against my cousin all the time. Can’t believe its considered forgotten
Holy shit, I'm one of the 14 Glover dudes! I knew my mom was wrong when she said I wasn't special.
Yess so glad you brought up Hybrid Heaven. Love that game :)
Snowboard Kids 1 was awesome! Great memories playing that game with my cousins. The courses had so much personality.
Me, before watching this video: Please talk about Rocket: Robot on Wheels
Austin: I've got one last game I wanna talk about...
Me: YAY!
The cartridge of Rocket chilling on my tv stand thanks you for reminding the world that it’s great
I love how when he was asking "you know who's also cool?" The character CoolsRoy from Rakuga kids was still on screen
OH and Goemon was sick. THAT ROBOT SONG
Snowboard kids 1 And 2 and the first Goemon game were some of my absolute favz glad to see them get some love here.
BattleTanx and Snowboard Kids 2 were two of my favorite 64 games!
The fact that I was given Hybrid Heaven as a Christmas gift when I was like 7 is rather hilarious to me now. I was so totally lost trying to play it back then.
I remember Goemon games. Great childhood memories with playing those for so long.
15:45 Running your N64 to the point of overheating because you don't have a save cartridge for Quest64. Made it to the water boss, in a single Saturday, only to have it all wiped out because of a power outage. That pain is still fresh, all these years later...
What track plays during the RPGs section?
Eyyyy I’m literally playing through Bomberman 64, Hero, and Second Attack on emulator right now
Always happy to see people remember that those exist
So glad you mentioned Snowboard Kids. I used to rent that game all the time.
I'm a bit of a gaming hipster myself too, I like picking up the weird unnoticed games over what's popular.
Thanks for the tip! might have to see if it's still in the collection
I have fond memories of Quest 64. I always saw the flaws, but it still felt cozy to me. I'm gunna have to replay that soon.
I'm just gonna point out ironically that I was literally playing Body Harvest in Retroarch when this video autoplayed
Lovely vid as always Austin
21:54 Oh man i loved battle tanks! The multiplayer was so fun, and this was the first game i recall that had a shockwave that actually damaged things!
12:59 "I will never not see Pierce Brosnan as Bond"
I will never not see Pierce on the Goldeneye 64 cover as not widemouth Bond
I LOVED both Snowboard Kids and The World Is Not Enough back in the day. I vividly remember playing them both for hours.
I love that all of the forgotten games in this vid were my favorites growing up.
Bomberman 64 The Second Attack is fantastic, I'm very glad to see someone else out there gets it. Seriously, that game is a favorite of that entire generation for me.
Snowboard kids 2 was my absolute favorite game for n64! So glad you brought up this classic
I had Hybrid Heaven growing up! Holy crap, that brings back memories. I loved that game. It was such a unique style of RPG gameplay, and the story was friggin' bonkers. Ah man, glad to see it getting some attention.
Battletanx was so much fun. I loved the seemingly post apocalyptic setting, it felt very “Terminator”
