John Hancock is a complete clown. Just listen to the hypocrisy in this video. One minute, he’s talking about how he doesn’t care about value and it’s not about the money. The next minute he brags about how expensive his Clay Fighter is and how he’s been “offered hundreds of dollars privately.” Do some research on his “museum” as well. He’s a snake looking to score for his personal collection…nothing more.

John Hancock is a saint. He deserves a lot of credit for all the preservation work he’s done. It really hasn’t been until collectors in this modern post real retro age and the digitization of games that people have been working so much to preserve games and more. I love that people love these games so much they work not just to collect them but to preserve them and their history. In the future in 20 years from now I think video game and digital media history will be of far more importance to society than it currently is. Your channel and videos like this will be looked back upon not only as time capsules but of the history of gaming. It may seem a bit niche or silly now but gaming is only getting bigger even in my lifetime. I am excited about gaming now, I was excited as a child with an NES and OG Gameboy and I’m excited for the future of gaming.

Conker's was the most common clearance game in 2001 or so. I remember seeing dozens of copies at different times clearanced for $10. I still can't believe it's considered "rare" for how many copies they made and didn't sell.

that's actually the point made in this vid. Conker's isn't rare. It's just very collectible and highly sought. Very similar to Earthbound, another game that isn't rare but became a cult classic and is now sought. Sculptors Cut is actually sort of rare.

I had a hand in Stunt Racer 64. Just to let you know, yes, it was a rental-only title. Midway wasn't keen to push it hard at retail, I think, because it would compete with their internal SF Rush titles. That's just my ill-informed speculation, though, as I wasn't privy to biz talk.

17:55 I probably should have kept the box and things when I bought my copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day 20 years ago [I do have the gaming magazine companion]. But I got it because I wanted to play it, AND I am still playing it. Phenomenal game. It's a truly fantastic game. Even the side games are worth the price of admission.
I did play it with my son, who is 26 now. I didn't think it was too much for him, and I was right. But things did get weird when he searched for the cheat codes and asked me what some of them meant.

This whole collecting for games you will never play is a waste of money. They pay hundreds of dollars so they can Just brag about it and let it sit on a shelf. They get their high from the act of collecting but once they finish collecting they move on to collecting other things. They make these videos to promote the value of their collection. You wouldn't even know it is valuable if not for these channels. But are they really that valuable? All these guys do is artificially inflate game prices and preying on the morons who believe their bs. Also they don't even make quality videos and they are asking for patreon money so you can fund their collection and vacations and other expenses.

Dude Beast Wars was awesome and it was because it actually made sense. The old Transformers didn't. Machines that transformed into machines? What's the point? Why not have a machine that provided the benefits of both a giant robot and a car?
But with Beast Wars it made sense that they transformed into animals because they had to. It was hazardous to stay in robot mode too long while outside of their ship, due to all of the unstable energon. It was a survival mechanism. This meant they had to be much more strategic and tactful both for the characters in the show and with the writing. The show in general seemed much more cerebral. Beast Wars never got the praise (or game) it deserved.

I loved Beast Wars as a kid, I saw it before I knew it was different from Transformers. I know that sounds weird but that was the order I saw them. Here's what I hate about Ebay, every time a seller list a game, they list it as "rare" just to make a sell! Yet, there's maybe 50 others of the same game listed. Also, (although I like these guys) it's videos like these, that make sellers put ridiculous prices for games, and to add, as they said in the video, then you get sellers who just reseal games, and claim that they are brand new! As for those of us, who just want to play a game, instead of just showcasing, and leaving them in a display case,...we're better off, just to download, and play off an emulator, than to pay outrageous prices!
