The n64 brings back so many great memories for me, I remember playing games on this system with my brothers and my friends ALL THE TIME. Ogre Battle 64 is my favorite game of all time. They haven't made another game like it, and it has the distinction of being one of the only RPGs on the system.
I believe Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine was a (mostly) blockbuster exclusive, where if you wanted a copy to own instead of rent you needed to buy directly from Lucasarts online store. Also Sin and Punishment is worth adding to any collection, it's a JP exclusive but easy to play without knowing Japanese, and the cutscenes are in English so you can follow the plot as well more or less.

There is a secret unlockable 4-player co-op mode and tons of other secrets in the game!

San Francisco Rush 2049 is STILL probably one of the N64 racing games I’ve spent the most time on ever. The exploration, the speed, the stunts, etc were just spectacular!
Nice collection. I bought the N64 for my daughter back in 04/05 (she was 9) and loved Yoshi's Island and a lot of the games out on that system. I ended up on a personal quest to collect every game at the time as the system was almost 10 years old then and carts were being given away at yard sales for $1-$5 (except the Mario titles). I probably had 75-80 games, and most of the boxes. I would buy box lots on eBay as well to get a few boxes I didn't have. It was a great collection, along with my Atari 5200 collection. I left the N64 and collection with my daughter when her mom and I split. Her mom ended up basically sold it for pennies basically giving it away and I was so pissed! I would have bought it from her along with the PS2 fat collection with DDR metal dance pads, hard drive, and the works. I had so much stuff pre-2007 that I would still love to have now - not to sell, just to play. Divorce sucks!
Two games that immediately spring to mind: 1) Mario Tennis, awesome game, very simple controls which actually enabled an amazing array of shots. As a four player game I think it was only beaten by Goldeneye. I also had a soft spot for Mario Golf. 2) Spacestation Silicon Valley, one of my favourite games from any era, weird puzzles, bouncing your microchip into new animals and discovering their skills... actually, it's an odd one to describe and I think you have to play it to understand it, but it was great fun. Also, honourable mentions to Donkey Kong 64, again brilliant four player action and Pilotwings 64, which was such a wonderfully rewarding experience. Damn, I miss my N64, some of my best gaming moments were on that console... wandering out onto Hyrule field and seeing the size of the world in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, was breathtaking... repeatedly failing to perform a 1080° was frustrating but felt awesome when it finally landed... every single moment of Banjo-Kazooie was a joy. Edit: Scrolling through the comments and saw this brilliant game: Jet Force Gemini! I remember being really excited for it's release, reading all the updates in N64 Magazine and actually going to the game store to wait for it to open... there wasn't a queue lol! Never did that for any other game. I can't believe I forgot about it. Those giant ants exploding when you shot them was so satisfying 😂
I actually went through my n64 collection the other day and only have 20 games. For some odd reason I thought I had 30-35 games. I really wish I had picked up the ones I would constantly see at the thrift stores in the early 2000's for a couple bucks a piece. Also passed on a n64 pikachu edition that was complete for 8 bucks in 2002 at a thrift store in Chicago. Oh well.
Some of my favorites that I didn't see here are: RoadRash 64, BattleTanx: Global Assault, and my favorite racing game on the N64 is Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA
Man, halfway through this video and already I'm planning on digging out my N64. So many great games I completely forgot about!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for this😀
Saw a lot of great ones there. The ones for me that stand out as missing unless I overlooked them are Jet Force Gemini, Turok Rage Wars (loved those two so much), Snowboard Kids and Mischief Makers.
You're an awesome dude MJR. -Space Station Silicon Valley is a cool and unique game. ...Yes, Indiana Jones is hard to find as it was a Blockbuster exclusive.
Hah. Zero Hour has a special spot to me. First M rated game I bought without my parents consent, and my mom almost went and chewed out the guy at KB toys for selling the game to a 14 year old
Nintendo value n64 games at $20 as evidenced by Mario 3d all stars among other things. They aren't going to give fans 20 n64 games on a mini console for $80.
I would get RUSH 2 - Stunt track music is awesome and growing up I spent way too much time playing that level. Overall, just another great Midway game for the late 90's. I would check it out.
Vigilante 8 and it's sequel Vigilante 8 2nd offense are two n64 games I will never stop mentioning because for a series released on multiple platforms it's a major hidden gem car battle series.
such an under rated game that was a lot of fun to play, I wish I could play it again. seeing this comment really made me smile knowing im not the only one in this world who enjoyed the game!!
I see that your missing a few n64 games MJR (These are from my collection and there are still MOAR N64 games out there): Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA Rush 2049 007:The World is Not Enough Mario Party 3 Pokémon Stadium 2 Megaman 64 NASCAR 2000 Knockout Kings 2000 WCW Mayhem Conker’s Bad Fur Day The Next Tetris Mario Tennis
All of the RARE titles were absolutely amazing. And as far as shooters go Ive personally played Turok 2: Seeds of Evil to death! Such an amazing soundtrack and really vast levels. Also loved the ATLAS Snowboard Kids 1&2. Lets be real, a majority of all of the "major" or "typical" games ive owned and loved.
Jet Force Gemini, Best 3rd person Sci fi game on the system, great epic soundtrack, and compelling story with multiple playable characters, made by Rare, must buy!
HSV Adventure Racing - Clone of Beetle Adventure Racing, but all of the cars have been replaced with VT model HSV's (Holden Special Vehicle). It may have only been released in Australia, not sure. But the Aussie voice-over and V8 engine audio track replacements are so worth the buy!
Funny, my first N64 game was Wave Race as well, it certainly holds a special place in my collection. It was our first and only game for a few weeks and my first time really seeing a fully 3D game! Maybe I missed these in the vid but a few other great games are Conkers Bad Fur Day, Gauntlet Legends, Pilot Wings and you have to get Tony Hawks Pro Skater.
Unfortunately they are ridiculously expensive now but Bomberman 2nd attack and Ogre Battle are some of the best games on the system! Have any desire to get them?

Looks like you're missing the first Extreme-G (I think I saw the second one there). Definetely a good racing game. And I have to agree with you about Duke Nukem Zero Hour. I really enjoy it (I have it with box and manual) but the control scheme is pure jank xD
Wish you gave a little love to the wrestling games on N64. I understand if you weren’t a fan, but a few of the most revered wrestling games of all time are on N64
I have two n64 consoles . One is modded to work on flat screen tvs , the other is original to work with CRT tvs I am using a cheapo Radio Shack HDMI converter on the origonal console. The problem I have found with both consoles using both Brawler 64 controllers and Tribute 64 controllers is that i have to go to options and turn the horizontal and vertical settings to minus 15 on both controllers on both consoles or the aim point or view point swings very fast , uncontrollable. At minus 15 they are pretty close to normal but at minus 15 they should be barely moving. never had this problem with the origional n64 controllers. Any ideas as to why this is happening ?
Great video, MJR! To clarify on the Ocarina of Time version differences, N64 got 3 versions as you stated: 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2. The way you tell the difference is on the back of the cart, there's a number engraved into the label. If it's just a pure number (e.g., 04), then it's 1.0. If it's a number with the letter A (e.g., 08A), then it's 1.1. If it's a number with the letter B (e.g., 12B), then you have 1.2. Each version had minor differences, but from a speedrunning perspective (which is my primary interest), these version differences often had glitches that were patched out. So for some speedruns of the game, we opt to use V1.0 or V1.1 because of exclusive glitches. There's also other minor intricacies; for example, when you boot up V1.0 of the game, the N64 logo that shows at the start is much brighter than V1.2. :)
BTW: I got those N64 cartridge labels here: www.etsy.com/shop/SzabosArcades - Thanks for watching! 🤘

@@UltimateGamerCC Goemon's Great Adventure was released in the United States. I own it.
@@tampabaytradeday786 anytime i've ever seen it is as a E Rom.
Divorce sucks!
man, i put so many hours into F-Zero X on the N64!
Such an excellent racing game.
@@danieljimenez1989 indeed it is! the soundtrack as well is great!
Two games that immediately spring to mind:
1) Mario Tennis, awesome game, very simple controls which actually enabled an amazing array of shots.
SILICON VALLEY! Awesome ! but like my #1 has to go to conkers bad fur day
BattleTanx: Global Assault (N64) is one of my all time favorites.
There is a guy named thabeast who is beating every single n64 game in random order on console, pretty cool series
Thanks for your work at SIERRA I'm 48 still playing games and remember your company's work on the IBM Aptiva. Keep rockin dude!!
Oh well.
Rush 2 is one of the funnest racers out there!!
Some of my favorites that I didn't see here are: RoadRash 64, BattleTanx: Global Assault, and my favorite racing game on the N64 is Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA
There's a copy of BattleTanx Global Assault near me and it's making me want to get an N64 and the whole nine.
Rush 2 is a great classic. agreed.
First M rated game I bought without my parents consent, and my mom almost went and chewed out the guy at KB toys for selling the game to a 14 year old
That Zero Hour is running at Zero frames.
It’s still a great game once you get a grip of the controls!
No Conker’s Bad Fur Day? Wow
Its the most expensive title now and has been for some time. If you didn't get it back in the day you likely won't now unless your a serious collector
How much does it go for
@@Eddy_827 about 100
So glad to see a Revolt mention in the racing games section. I loved that game when I was a kid. I'd really like to revisit it to see how it held up.
I had it on the PS1. It was fun as hell.
That duke nukem game I've heard of it but never realized they actually released it. Great vid
Man, the N64 version of Forsaken is still a stunner.
Still waiting for the 25th anniversary N64 Classic Mini 🤞
I believe it's the N64 controller that is holding that up.
Nintendo value n64 games at $20 as evidenced by Mario 3d all stars among other things. They aren't going to give fans 20 n64 games on a mini console for $80.
There will never be an N64 classic mini unfortunately.
@@LordelX I think you’re right. It’s a shame as (along with a Dreamcast mini) it’s the only mini console I would buy.
I would get RUSH 2 - Stunt track music is awesome and growing up I spent way too much time playing that level. Overall, just another great Midway game for the late 90's. I would check it out.
Rocket, underrated gem. I’ve never met someone in real life who knows this game. One of my favs
Love this! So nostalgic. You have a treasure there
Love body harvest. Game was literally terrifying as a child lol.
Vigilante 8 and it's sequel Vigilante 8 2nd offense are two n64 games I will never stop mentioning because for a series released on multiple platforms it's a major hidden gem car battle series.
I forgot about those
@@powerfullance1898 a lot of people do they were better than the later twisted metal games (3 and 4)
I can agree with that, V8 was one of my favorite projects.
It's Friday and a new MJR video too, awesome!!!
You know it!
my favorite N64 game was "Jet Force Gemini" . any one else think this was the bomb?
such an under rated game that was a lot of fun to play, I wish I could play it again. seeing this comment really made me smile knowing im not the only one in this world who enjoyed the game!!
I remnber the dog and the ant enemies yes it was fun
Same here, good to see someone remembers it.. Definitely an epic adventure, and then that soundtrack, seriously so underrated!
Well, if you have Rare Replay on Xbox One, you can play it there alongside most of the Rareware classics!
I totally missed Harvest Moon for the "n64" System. It's the Stardrew VValley of the good old days. And this game was such a beauty.
I see that your missing a few n64 games MJR (These are from my collection and there are still MOAR N64 games out there):
Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA
Rush 2049
007:The World is Not Enough
Mario Party 3
Pokémon Stadium 2
Megaman 64
NASCAR 2000
Knockout Kings 2000
WCW Mayhem
Conker’s Bad Fur Day
The Next Tetris
Mario Tennis
Space Station Silicon Valley? That Duck Dodgers Game?
Wasn't Blast Corps part of Rare Replay? So technically you can play it in HD!
Yeah, must've slipped Jason's mind. Can't blame him really, dudes got tons of games.
I loved playing banjo, glover and rocket robot on wheels as a kid.
I just bought an N64 & it takes me back in time & I love it.
It makes me sad that no one ever talks about Road Rash 64... I hope it gets a remaster some day
Road Rash 64 was so badass!!
I loved that one, with the expansion pack too
Saw WCW NWO Revenge, but you need the other AKI wrestling games!
I loved the Duke nukem Game! We used to play that allmost as much as goldeneye!
Yup the multi-player was pretty sick!
Jet Force Gemini, Best 3rd person Sci fi game on the system, great epic soundtrack, and compelling story with multiple playable characters, made by Rare, must buy!
Forsaken is amazing once you get used to it! Very underrated game!!!
Just bought a new n64 from japan, can't wait for it to arrive!
Where? How? I want one
@@proud90skid15 On ebay from a Japanese seller
The Duke has better frame rate if you turn off hirez mode.
you can use the 2nd controller as a 2nd analog stick for this game, 1 controller per hand. 8:52
The New Tetris and Bust A Move 99 were my favorite puzzle games on the system.
The star wars games were amazing.
Funny, my first N64 game was Wave Race as well, it certainly holds a special place in my collection. It was our first and only game for a few weeks and my first time really seeing a fully 3D game! Maybe I missed these in the vid but a few other great games are Conkers Bad Fur Day, Gauntlet Legends, Pilot Wings and you have to get Tony Hawks Pro Skater.
same bro. wave race blew my mind the first time playing it.
Conkers was the best. Hands down.
Every 64 collection requires Ogre Battle! Nice games though MJ.
You, sir, must be a Person of Lordly Caliber.
Indiana Jones is a Blockbuster exclusive, I would imagine that’s why. Great episode! Thanks!
13:59 rumble pak is outstanding 👍
My favorite wrestling games are the GameCube day of reckoning games
Wcw vs. Nwo world tour, and whatever the THQ wwf game was, were my favorite. My buddy also like raw/warzone of course too.
:)
