2022 new subscriber thanks for the help brah just showing love like you been giving us. And you been saving us money
3 years later and you're still helping people with this video. What a good guy!
6 more years and still
I have never in my life commented on a RUclips video. After siphoning fuel (to remove water that wasn’t there) replacing the spark plugs, and pulling/testing the fuel pump on my armada....I found your video. Mine wasn’t a piece of fuzz but a small mosquito. Could not believe something so small would prevent the truck from getting past 2k rpm. No more hesitation, running great. A million thanks!
SCBiggie I’m so glad you got your vehicle fixed. Thanks for watching
After a week of trying to get my daughters 2006 Altima to idle I found your video last night. This morning I did exactly as you in the video. A small piece of trash fell out. Sprayed with MAF cleaner, let dry and reinstalled. Cranked it up, idled and ran fine during a test drive. Thank you sir!!
No problem I’m really glad that this video helped out. don’t forget to subscribe and hit the little notification bell to get all the brand new videos coming out from oz mechanics
Great job! It's good to see a guy who is not a parts changer and cares about customers.
You win the "Angel of the Year" award. Fly on.............
thank you very much :)
I was so pleased to watch this. After being all over RUclips for what I believe to be an air flow issue, you were the only one to show the tach and explain what your problem vehicle was doing. My initial start rpm went to 600, disengaged MAF start held 1200 rpm at idle. Wow. Thanks to you, this might be where I need to start looking. I will let you know how it goes later. Need to buy cleaner but nothing open here at 6:30 pm. Off to supper, laundry, homework and chores for tonight. Sincerely, single mom, Full time RN.
What's the name of the scan tool u use
GUY, you just saved my life hours looking for a freaking video,
man thank you
Hey thanks for watching. I'm glad you liked it and it helped out
someone can help me please, thanks.
Oz Mechanics hey man, i cleaned it, and it seem to be fixed, but it keeps stalling and also i gotta hit the gas lots of times so the temperature goes up until it reaches the middle or either the car would, well, turn of and it shakes, and after that its normal, and if i let it rest for 2 hours the engine gets cold and i got to do the same thing again, i clean the throttle and clean the MAFS and also replaced the thermostat so idk, i have a 2001 toyota corolla so if someone can help me please, thanks.

Cesar Golindano start off by checking your check engine light with a scan tool to see if you have any codes
Oz Mechanics not a true station
I love that you investigate why the part is not working instead of just replacing the part!

I should have watched the video before I bought the Sensor for a hundred bucks!!! Thanks for taking the time to make and post this...
This video( and my skepticism) just saved me a couple hundred. Mechanics and auto parts clerks were saying I had to buy this and that but all i ended up spending was $8 for the cleaner. THANKS!
no problem. im glad this video helped out. feel free to support the channel to keep more videos like this coming. there's a support button on my screen. and always thanks for watching
This was the problem my 2006 Nissan Frontier was having. I wish i had found your video sooner. I do apprishiate the help you gave me on a past video i commented on.
cal88usa no problem thanks for watching and keeping my videos relevant
sorry to hijack this but wondering if that 06 Nissan had mid-band/entering highway ramps jerking/hesitation and fuel smell in interior at startup due to rich shutdown??
Thanks for the video OZ. Very helpful to someone who know very little about MAF sensors.
BadAss!!!👍 I'm having issues on my 2003 Saturn Vue 3.5

I thought that was a good video and quite informative. You seem like a nice, honest man....my hat's off to you. My girlfriend has a 2012 Nissan Sentra and her "check engine" indicates Mass Air Flow Sensor (module) so we'll try the clean first. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

DedhedWaldo no problem. Let me know if it works
Awesome video and the best part to you are honest I do most repair in my cars I'm a vw & audi fan and most fails for these cars are relate to the map sensor when is about loosing power or boost 2.0 vw jetta sometimes give you this trouble just because the map is dirty or also the throttle body 1.8 turbo manifold pressure/boost sensor (g31) p0238 code is also relate to the map sensor only takes 10 minutes clean it clear codes and your back with not lights ..this could sometimes the cure at least you have some leaks or wire bad connections ..I'm not a mechanic i just a simple computer tech that goes beyond my knowledge keep the good work my friends greetings from Houston..
Great job! my daughter car was having small problem tried this and it worked. Thank you
Hector Cavazos bo problem. Glad this video helped out
Thanks! just got this code and light on a 2013 VW Passat. Gonna check if its dirty right now. Just gotta figure out where it is first. Hopefully cleaning it will do the trick! Great tip Oz!
Thank you so much we had the same exact problem and we're able to take care of it ourselves
Thank you very much for sharing, this a great video.
Thank you for not just changing parts... Great job..
Thank You so much for posting this video! The place I went want to charge me about $500 to $700 to replace my air mass sensor and sparks plug!
katietang50 yea all shops are different and all cars as well. Like the Ford F-150 5.4 3V engines are e pensive to replace the spark plugs. Can run from 300-500 a piece
Thank you so much for the info!
@@OzMechanics LMAO B.S
It's amazing that part worked after you banged it on the desk!
Mine has two fine filaments that would break easily by doing that.
Great video. We will try this as our 2005 loses power after replacing plugs camshaft sensors crank shaft sensors but not mass airflow yet.
Love this guy very helpful videos! Keep posting even on the smallest fix cuz some of us aint that much of car guys lol but im learning
Eduardo A. Sanmiguel thanks. It really means a lot when I receive messages like yours. Main reason I make these videos.
Oz Mechanics oh definitely brother i always wanted to get into cars but just never got the opportunity and ended up being a mason which i love doing...but now that one of my trucks started messing up instead of paying someone a shitload of money i started doing things myself and almost all of my own fixes have been done from watching ur videos..thanks again and keep up the good teachings man ur awsome! Take care
Awesome, my man! Thank you.
Thanks just what I needed to know.
Thanks for the information, which I found well presented and clearly explained. Nice to have your kind of experience and support available to help avoid budget busting dealer charges. I'd rather have grease under my fingernails than charges on my credit card!

question?? I got a infiniti g35 04 and was wondering I put on a intake not a expensive one does the maf sensor require cleaning? I cleaned it with maf sensor cleaning did a full tune up and it felt fine all of a sudde it feels sluggish take off is not so good and on long run it's fast, what's ur outake on the jet performance maf sensor? should I go with oem or try the maf from jet performance??
Great job buddy fix my problem in minutes
thanks oz!! i needed that.
Had same stalling issue... Thanks :)
Thanks being a honest help! Blessings
thank you for this video. I took my car to a mechanic today and he told me that was my issue and it would be $300 to fix. oh wow I will attempt to fix on my own

+David Hess hey that's for watching feel free to subscribe and share
i have a 99 s 10 , 2wd, v6, its indicating p0101 and p0103, what do you recommend before replacing the sensor? I've checked it it looks pretty clean.
Thanks for that video!
thanks for the info , big help.
I have a 2011 Chevy cruze, just bought sensor, already had the cleaner,I'm gonna try to clean it,I do not like messing with cars,I'd rather a mechanic do it but this seems easy, thanks so much hope it works☺
Thanks for the video. I have a 2000 Mercedes ML430 but this video answered my questions. I have already ordered a new Bosch air flow sensor so I missed the opt of checking for it being dirty, blocked, etc. But, I have 180,000 miles so it's not a big loss, the way I figure it. I bgt it for $138 instead of $399 retail or $260 from my mechanic. Amazing what parts cost. I don't see over $15 dollars worth of material in it. Maybe I should get in the making-air-mass-sensor business!
Thanks for the video Oz. Quick question. If the MAF is replaced and still doesn’t start, I had a second code along with it, what else can we do or check, troubleshoot? I have a 2012 Camry.
I had the same problem.Good job!!
Got it fixed homie. Thanks!
Thank you Oz, your video was very helpful, I just saved some $ by watching your video, gracias
no problem. thanks for watching
Good man (sent from North Wales UK)
Decent vid,Oz, you forgot to say, " do not use carb cleaner since it will leave chemical residue that will keep tripping the light"..Use MAF cleaner only.
I actually watched a video they showed different methods of cleaning it. All did they damage but yea carb did the most out of them
hi oz very help full appreciate your video saved me a lot of work well I've got another question my 2000 Pontiac sunburned completely died on me while I was delivering it has gas and gas is getting to carb battery is good do you have a general idea what I should look for to diagnose my problem?
Great video thank you....👍
Great job i just got my maf part hopefully it works
Always vacuum the air box when changing the air filter. You have to get any loose debris out of there. Use top quality air filters and change them on schedule. If you live in a dusty area, you will need to change the filter more often.
+John Ferguson good input
good tip. I will be checking mine and cleaning it. thx.
great video hopefully it works on my car thanks
Awesome Video-Thank you
Good information. Very helpful...
very helpful video Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this information Sir I appreciate it very much
I'm having that problem on my BMW X5 right now... I already ordered the part right now before watching this video but tomorrow when I go pick up the part I'll try to clean the old one and put it and see if the problem persists and I will return the new part 😉
Thanks
just had a question do u think that has to do with high rpm lags like i feel wen i take off on my car its a 01 maxima 5sp i feel a lil lag around 5 1/2 and red line not to much but i owned this car for 6 years and i do notice a lil lag from wen i got ut and my mass air flow senser is bad asweel but ones i rev it or worm up the car it starts with no problems.
Sup bud.. saw your video nice one another Mechanic wouldn't say anything they'll just charge them for the new piece and labor.. hit the customer in the head. Nice video glad to hear you was an honest Mechanic.
AWESOME Thank you man
Please can you help me...I remove the cable of maf sensor when engine is running to check the sensor is working or not ,so the car no stop and i see the check engine light appear..how i can remove the check engine light???
Good vid mate!
great video thank you
Thanks (her) car was died -running rough - New M A Flow cost $100. Looked inside mine it had a deerfly in it. Runs like new. you saved me a lot of money. Thanks davy
I am so glad this video helped out. Makes me happy to know the vehicle is up and running
Why didn't your air filter , filter out the Deerfly, DT ??
gary miller I’ve seen plenty of vehicles that whenever someone replaced the filter they didn’t completely close the housing
Thanks bro, something so simple saved me from 💰💰
I have a 1998 Mercedes slk 230 when I put my car in the on position my radiator fan turns on at full blast and doesn't turn off and doesn't let the car start at all. I have noticed that my car has been doing this at random times for the past couple months But it always started up in a couple minutes after the fan Stop. I have been looking into forums and they say it could be my mass flow air sensor BUT my check engine light never popped up only when I disconnected the sensors plug it did can you help -thanks
After getting an 'engine check' light on the dash of my 2015 eco-diesel (traced to a mass air flow sensor issue) I was able to clear the light simply by changing the air filter. I found a mouse nest build-up on the intake side of the filter and after vacumming the filter unit completely and changing the filter, the light cleared itself after about 5 miles of driving. Try this 1st - it costs little to nothing and should be done anyway.
I have a 05 Nissan Murano and I have already replaced the maf senor it was reading the high temp code but my thing is now is that it has a hesitation at start off after it gets warmed up... does this mean my tcm needs to be rest/relearned?
A mechanic who likes to save car owners money? Cost of cleaning versus part replacement. Wish I could find a mechanic like that.
thanks a lot for your good information.. i have the same prob to my car.. i will try to check it..
You are clever. Thanks for the info.Greetings from Iraq.
