No too long ago my car just started stalling out on take off, would have to hold the gas down a bit at stop lights to keep it goin. Pulled the MAF sensor and inside was a tiny spider that was dead hanging on one of the wires. Got it off and car ran like new again.

My 2008 Scion XB was running extremely poor. 300,000 miles on it. Changed Ignition coils, Spark plugs and cleaned MAF sensor using rubbing alcohol. IT WORKED. One point to make. Disconnected the battery so the MAF and its computer etc... sync up after it all put back together. GOOD luck and GOD bless. JC

Thank you!! Dealership wanted to charge me $71 for this. Took less than 5 minutes to DIY using your video.

USED MASS AIR FLOW CLEANER ON A 1999 MERCURY AND GUESS WHAT; NO HESITATION ON ACCELERATION . RUNS SMOOTH NOW& GOT PASSING GEAR BACK WITHOUT DYING ON ACCELERATION

  • @Sunyataji

Not done yet! That part that you sprayed is the temperature sensor, there are two resistors (for air flow detection) down inside the hollow tube that also need to be cleaned.

Thank you so much!! Instructions were easy to follow...did this myself after watching the video. Removed the part to check it first, then used the MAF cleaner mentioned, and put the part back in.... no issues. Took my van for a test drive right after and now the stop/starts are so much smoother than they were prior. Cost was only $9 as I had to buy the MAF cleaner. :)

Thank you for this teaching. I had slow start took a few seconds and sometimes longer. Then it didn’t start at all, After changing oil it started but still slow. I checked this sensor and also put oil on o ring and tightened screws well. It’s starting quickly now. Hopefully remains like this. Thank you so much. From Northern Ireland.

Thanks for the video. My Corrola has 219000 miles on it and yesterday it would start but would not stay running unless I kept my foot on the accelerater. A 9 dollar can of mass airflow cleaner and following the steps of your video fixed the problem. Bless You.😊😁🇺🇸

Thanks Paul for sharing, you prove the the saying "there is no such thing as free lunch" wrong, for Christian we can have a free sharing. I am not a rich man that is why as much as possible I do my own fix if I can. Have a blessed Christmas Rick

I am very skeptical when it comes to cheap fixes. I've, had two Toyota Camry's in the past, both being 6 Cylinder models. I'm very familiar with this acceleration issue as mine's did the same and other V6's I've test drove. Skeptical but willingly to give it a try, IT WORKED immediately! how something so small can make a huge problem. Thanks for sharing because I'm sure I would have paid a lot going to a auto shop. total out-of-pocket was $3 and change, best money I've spent and a long time

Well, my Impala was barely trying to start and really sounded like it didn't want to be bothered. Well, I took ur advice and It Sprung to Life ! Wow! You were spot on and I sincerely want to thank you.👍

  • @danielmogos8990

Mass airflow sensor is basically a very tiny electrical resistance. The way how is measuring the air, is pretty ingenious.

I haven’t drove my car for a month and the mechanic’s told me it might be a engine problem or something with the fuel system , so I checked my fuse box and it was a bad etcs fuse #10 and my car is good now.

I usually let mine dry for a half hour before reinstalling. I also spray down inside the housing. I think there is another wire in there. 2006 Toyota Matrix 4WD. You can also use an app like Torque with a Bluetooth OBD2 reader (mine has an on/off switch-I just leave it plugged in and off unless I'm using it) to make a note of airflow at idle after cleaning sensor. This will help you determine when to clean sensor.
