Very useful to me as I try to address this problem with my car (2014). This has been giving me trouble for three years and the first I heard that it might be a PVC valve is when I bought a replacement Mass Air Flow Sensor for $181 and the manufacturer (Duralast) included a bulletin in the box! I haven't taken it out of the package yet and am going to take a look at the voltage readings first. The PVC valve is a much cheaper fix than a new sensor. The dealership told me the "fix" was a new wiring harness - for $2,600. I'll try this first. Good video. Many thanks!

  • @RedTekno

Nice! I was about to change the PCV after not finding anything wrong and troubleshooting everything. There are a few things left if the PCV doesn't fix it. The dealership couldn't fix the issue, charged the customer for a new MAF (customer just had a new autozone MAF) and the update and returned the car in the same conditions while telling him they could fix it by installing a cold air system for like 1k 🤦. Good that I found your vid. I needed reassurance 😁. 🙏

I was lucky to get away with just cleaning the MAF and replacing the PCV valve with the new replacement part and then clearing the codes on a 2016 Nissan Altima SL 2.5L!! Thank God I didn't have to flash the ECM.

This issue's been around for a while. Have a 2011 Altima, same problem. Went to the dealer, they said the MAF was bad, replaced it and reprogrammed the ECM. Light came back of around 40K miles later. I cleaned the throttle body and the light went off. I think the throttle body's are supposed to have regular maintenance. The code comes back after about a year or so, 15-20 miles but cleaning the throttle body gets rid of it.

I bought my 2013 Altima new and have put close to 170K miles. Just recently did the P0101 code appear. I changed the MAF Sensor and that fixed the issue for like a month. Now I have the check engine light on again. I did see on another channel that they also replaced the PVC valve when they changed the MAF sensor. I didn’t do that. I think I have the orange PVC Valve. Now I just hope I don’t have to reprogram the computer, but since it’s a 2013, I’m probably screwed. 🙂

I’ve been so frustrated with my car and the Nissan Dealer 😤 my altima has been giving me issues with this P0101 code for like 3 years. I have tried cleaning the MAF, replacing it, had my throttle body replaced by the dealer and I even replaced the pvc valve and had the dealer “reprogram” my car after installing the new sensor. You guessed it still get this code after all this! My altima struggles to accelerate and need to ease my way into the freeways. I feel like the dealer isn’t fixing the “main” problem to keep siphoning money from me. This code and problems comes up when my car struggles to accelerate and going uphill.

All nissan 2.0 and 2.5 get this code because poor design of pcv system. It draw smokey oil fumes through air cleaner which often micro sprays into intake getting the sensor dirty and or dirty throttle body . I have also found rodent nests in intake pipe that cause the same code. Also causing this code is cracking in the flex pipe before the throttle body. If it was electrical problem you would have many other codes particularly oxygen sensor codes.

I'm trying to figure out whats going on with my 2015 Nissan Altima while I excelerate to go faster the excelerator knocks or makes a weird feeling on the foot petal while excelerateing. I was told that the transmissions on this series starts to go out in them or fail after the transmission gets about 80,000 miles on them and my car is right at 78,400 miles. So does anyone know what the problem is? I just got a tuneup on it a couple days ago and it still does this hiccup every once in awhile while driveing it.
