- WrestleMania 23 is one of the most underrated WrestleMania's ever. From the build that began at the 2007 Royal Rumble to the Road to WrestleMania all the way to the actual show. Everything was perfect. Some of the most fun few months I ever had as a wrestling fan. Undertaker was better than ever, Shawn Michaels was out to prove he was still the showstopper. John Cena and Batista were the champions. Rated RKO was in full force. It was just such a fun time.
Yet somehow this WrestleMania gets forgotten, even by me? So why not go back to 2007 and remember this Mania. Lets remember this underrated classic and see the Ruthless Aggression Era at its finest. Lets take a look at What Made WrestleMania 23 So Awesome?

It should’ve been the main event in my opinion. But it was good regardless.
No it was jbl vs John cena wrestlemania 21

Yo edge is low-key one of the best villains in WWE history.
High key
I can't think of a better villain since him and Randy Orton. Maybe Punk, but I could never hate him, I was a Punk fanboy back them
the best*
Jbl too
Looking back at it now I can only respect him. He made me literally HATE him so much as a kid. He was so good in that role.

Batista > Boring Strowman
Yo....Undertaker vs. Batista was such a great match. I didn’t expect it to be THAT good back then, and HBK vs. Cena was an AWESOME main event. So many other cool matches too.
This is why I love this mania. It had everything.
Undertaker Vs Batista should of been longer n the main. Event
Cena vs HBK is pretty underrated tho
@@XVNRX And should've won the Slammy Awards too. But here's a sad fact. This WrestleMania was the last WrestleMania for Chris Benoit until the whole Benoit controversy happened at that time.
@@usamazahid3882Thats when everything changed
It’s hilarious how we all hated edge with a passion. Lookin at it now, I can really appreciate him as a great heel
The thing I loved about this show was that the two world title feuds were face vs face and they both worked. That's how good the build was.
This guy is absolutely underrated like SERIOUSLY underrated this guy deserves WAY more subs smh yt give this man the recognition he needs
Batista vs Taker, John Cena vs Shawn Michaels iconic
Awesome title matches. This mania really delivered.
My early early childhood
Undertaker vs Batista should’ve been the main event

April 1, 2007, a date that will live on in my memory forever. This was not only my first WrestleMania, but my very first WWE ppv. I was able to watch this with my huge family and it was so beautiful. We witnessed history, awesome matches, awesome star power, awesome theme song, brutality like none other, ridiculous/funny moments, and so much more. This was in a way, the ruthless aggression version of WrestleMania X-Seven which is not a bad thing, as it showed everything what ruthless aggression was all about. I’m sorry for the long comment, but when it comes to this WrestleMania, I have amazing memories of me and my cousins as younger kids/teens.
Same! I had a good memory of watching this with my family, crazy as hell as a 7 year old lol.
Same
My first WWE ppv was wrestlemania 36 TvT (I started watching wrestling when I was taken to smack down by my dad in march of 2020)
FACTSSSS 😭😭😭😭💯💯
The head shaving was cringe tho. Vince and Trump should apologize to Britney Spears.
Edge loses at WrestleMania
Cena and HBK put on a classic
Undertaker wins the Big Gold Belt
Vinnie Mac loses his hair
Stone Cold stuns Big Bad Donald
Mania 23 was special but we only appreciated it more after 2007. It was our last true tv14 wrestlemania and it made us love it even more.
Wait u pulled the fire alarm? Damn living out every kids dream

HBK should have won
@@Nyeshi HBK time was over at that point.
@@MyPersonalAccount124 it wasn’t over for another 3 years but the truth is, he didn’t want to hold a world title again even though he was offered many times. He didn’t want that spotlight and being more in the scene being the champion.

Literally just watched this 2 weeks ago. Was a great ppv where 2 of the world championship matches delivered. And Undertaker in the best shape of his life right here
That Cena Entrance tho, “Is this Fast and Furious J.R?!” Little did they know how intertwined the Fast series and WWE would eventually become..... cough cough Rock cough cough Cena cough cough
*cought* *cought* Ronda *cough*
This was like wrestlemania X7 for the ruthless aggression era
Batistas entrance in this Wrestlemania is so simple but it feels so big. Him posing on each side of the stage is just so amazing and it hyped you up.

Wrestlemania 23 had the coolest and most unique logo in WM history.
Yeah has that Ford vibe🔥
Even the arena looked so cool😭
Wrestlemania 18 and 23 stage and arenas were the best imo
WM 23 and 25 give me the same vibe man
When Jeff Jumped and took out edge, 14 year old me thinking Jeff ended that mans whole career!
The dead man vs the animal
The champ vs the show stopper

One of my favorite manias ever. Grew up on this era love this.
Chris Benoit vs MVP was a classic as well.
yeah I was wondering where that was
Hella underrated
Yes, mvp should've won
They forgot the ecw originals vs the new bread. Kane vs The Great Khali. And Ashley vs Melina.
One of my favorite Wrestlemanias and the build up was so good. Such a good time to be a fan, unfortunately a few months after this amazing event things went downhill...
Wayyyyyy downhill...we've never really recovered since.
We won’t speak of June 24-27, 2007.

A reason I'm a big fan of your channel is not just that you're describing childhood nostalgic wrestling but somehow you actually make the vibe feel like I'm in the past. It's interesting.
I was at Wrestlemania 23 and I can easily say it was one of the best days of my life! Definitely my best day of 2007.
I’ve never clicked so fast in my life
😂 😂 😂
I love the way how you pull my memories back to that year by that *it's 20XX year* intro
This was one of the first Wrestling DVD’s I watched as a kid. Brings back so many memories.
This was during my senior year of high school, so the all grown up theme hit me in a big way.
In my opinion this was the last peak of wrestling.
1st - the late 80s
2nd - Attitude Era
This WrestleMania really was one of the all-time best. Literally my ONLY complaint about it is that Undertaker Vs. Batista shouldn't have happened so early in the PPV.
I figured this channel almost 1 year ago and since then I have watched almost every video. The video topics as well as Pav's commentary make the videos masterclass
Wrestlemania 23 will always have a special place in my heart. It was 9 year old me first Wrestlemania! Considering I’m from England, my brother and cousin stayed up till 4am watching it and I was just in awe. An event I’ve watched more than any wrestling event I can bet. It was just special and that Cena entrance is still top tier. Love you Detroit!🙌🏾♥️
One of the Manias that brings back awesome memories 🥲
Still had the best pyro intro I ever saw, just my opinion. Was so incredible.
2007 may have been the best overall year ever 💀. Why did this unlock so many memories I forgot about. I’m so glad this was the PPV My parents ever bought for me.
Childhood memories are better than rewatching while being older.
I remember watching john cenas entrance and being in "AWW" now im like "its a v6"

I got suspended from school the Friday before wrestlemania 23 and all weekend my grandfather threatened to not let me watch wrestlemania on Sunday, but bless his heart he still let me experience it!
This was the only paperview my dad ever got for me as a kid and till this day I remember it being the highlight of my childhood
As a kid Im not go lie.. The Vince and Umaga vs Trump and Lashley was the main match I was looking forward too 😂

This money in the bank ladder match was the first wrestling match I remember watching and I've been hooked ever since.
Happy you're back, great video
2007 was also a rough year for Kanye West: His mother died in November. 2 months after Graduation was released

2007 was a great fucking year
Ths video was fun. Keep it up Pav.
i had this show recorded from the tv to a vhs tape. and saw again and again back to back, thank you for the memories
Let's take something into account: Both world championship matches were face vs face rivalries. They managed to pull two great storylines, and intertwine them in the buildup, without turning any of the performers heel, only betrayal like Batista leaving Taker and Michaels kicking Cena but none turned heel. Magnificent!
2007 was a very great year! Well except a few things but still true!
Hey man glad your back hope you are doing well, loved Wrestlemania 23!
Batista and Taker one of the best rivalries in smackdown history I was a complete creature of the night back then and man the match delivered

John cena vs shawn micheals was iconic. Because these are my top 2 favourites.
when you realize you could switch undertaker and shawn michaels in each title match, it still would have made two potential classics/dream matches. at least in my opinion please don’t go off 🤣
What's funny is Taker fought Batista and Cena fought HBK at WM23 and then 3 years later, it would be Taker fighting HBK and Cena fighting Batista at WM26.
@@loganmcdonald568 i never realized that, but retrospective me thought this would have been the perfect mania for cena vs taker, and probably would have stolen the show, but the spinner belt wouldn’t have looked good on taker
