- WrestleMania 21 is one of the most important WrestleMania's of all time and especially to my generation, it was the night that the future of the WWE was laid out and cemented. Stars like John Cena and Batista officially had made it to the top of the WWE, and right below them they had other stars like Edge and Orton making thier names. It was an amazing night that also featured the last match of Eddie Guerrero's career, the first ever Money in the Bank match, the first STREAK story line match and the legendary dream match of Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels. It was a night that I will never forget. So I thought why not go back down memory lane and relive WrestleMania 21

Man I love the video that you did man I understand why and how WrestleMania 21 was very important not only for you but also for me as well because that's for the first time sis of the year 2000 and I've been watching WrestleMania since I was a kid before 2000 why do I understand that WrestleMania 21 was very important and you right you said it right above your lungs to make those future men like Bautista John Cena Edge and Randy Orton mean something and throughout the matches rivalries like Randy Orton and The Undertaker in 2005 one of the best rivalries I ever seen from that year John Cena and Edge in 2006 Batista and the Undertaker in 2007 that you have a match with an rivalry for wrestlemania 23 with Shawn Michaels versus John Cena for the WWE championship not to change the fact that those two were WWE world tag team champions at the beaten Rated-RKO Edge and Randy Orton those two sons of b****** with at the top of the game then the match on Monday Night Raw happens to be one of the best matches in RAW history John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels in an episode of Monday Night Raw Batista oh my God go smackdown episodes crazy we had Bautista and Undertaker battling out for the world heavyweight Championship especially the 15-minute match at WrestleMania 23 then the most craziest match at backlash 2007 the last man standing match what's happened Batista spearing Undertaker on to the other side of the stage exploded crazy then when Edge cashing his money in the bank contract for the second timenot to change the fact he kind of took it for mr. Kennedy but anyway Edge cash it on the Undertaker after epic brutal steel cage match between taker and Batista Mark Henry come out of nowhere eternity and being undertaker's ass then ask took the title for him after hitting one spear priceless then the matches with Cena and Orton then the few matches with Edge and Batista the triple threat match at Armageddon 2007 involving the Undertakerthen the match with Edge and Rey Mysterio at the Royal rumble 2008 John Cena's epic return at the Royal rumble and then winning the Royal rumble match the epic triple threat match at WrestleMania 24 with Cena triple h and Randy Orton Randy Orton crazily retaining the title with a punt on triple h and John Cena after being hit with the pedigree by Hunter that special main event Edge and The Undertaker for the heavyweight championship of the world WrestleMania 24 then the battles The Edge and take it hat that ended up being crazier with the TLC match Undertaker had to be out then Undertaker return to ended the rivalry against Edge inside the hell in a cell match at SummerSlam 2008 then the matches with John Cena and Batista then the fact that WWE was booking Jeff Hardy and he became WWE champion at the very end of 2008 Armageddon 2008 Jeff Hardy swanton bomb on triple h and edge after edge just got hit with the pedigree and goes on and on what a way to start off on how WrestleMania 21 was so important not only for the future but for those four men John Cena Edge Dave Bautista and Randy Orton shout out to the homie @WrestlinGifs
WrestleMania 21 was so important because it was a changing of the guard where John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton and Edge took over WWE and became the Big 4 while Angle/HBK match was one for the ages. Cena, Batista, and Edge became main event players on this important night while Orton, who already an main event player was able to pull of an classic with Undertaker. Angle vs HBK was super perfection and legendary.
This important WrestleMania will be known for John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, and Batista being WWE's Big 4 ,the first MITB and the legendary Angle vs Michaels match
This show was basically a repeat of WM14 with the coronation of Austin but with Cena and Batista.
Elvin Martes Tbh I don't look at WM 21 as a repeat of WM 14. WM 21 was an important changing of the guard where John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, and Edge being WWE's top leading stars throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era.

Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels was a match I didn't appreciate as a kid, but now I see it as one of the classics.
Makes me sad when hearing stories that Eddie Guerrero vs. Shawn Michaels was meant to happen at WM 22, that would have undoubtedly burn the house down.
That match would've been EPIC! It would've broken the Meltzer scale lol

Cena became a star, Batista became a star, Rey got that rub from Eddie, Randy proved himself, Edge insured his future, Shawn and Angle put on a classic, Undertaker's streak was recognized and got a classic, Triple H's reign of terror ending, Hulk Hogan got inducted into the Hall of Fame. Surely WrestleMania21 was Ruthless Aggression version of Superbowl/World Cup.

my FIRST ppv watch was WM21. the excitement for this night was sooo heavy. still one of my favorite childhood memories. you literally watched john cena become JOHN CENA. loved this wrestlemania so much and it will forever have a spot in my heart.

When you run it back. This was one of the best Wrestlemanias. Easily. The way they wrapped Kurts Olympic medal win into his storyline. Gotta applaud the entire WWE for this one. Every single matches performance felt so important. Just about every wrestler mattered and their stock went up. So many of these guys went on a wild run after this.

This was my first Wrestlemania I watched on PPV and I must say, this is what made me love wrestling growing up. I was a Ruthless Aggression Era kid and I'm proud to say it.
WrestleMania 21 was the first WrestleMania I ever watched (via DVD), so this ones very important to me. But with that said, it's damn good.

Yeah this Mania was my all time favorite as well. From the stage setup, to the fued stories built up by the funny Hollywood skits, the matches were top notch, Angle vs HBK the ultimate classic matchup, plus i had the video game on Xbox and the DVD set later on.
I clicked this video so fast when I saw it! I was 12 at the time and I got tickets for my birthday to go, I cried when I opened them. It’s the only WrestleMania I’ve been to, I feel so honoured to say I saw this show live.

I was an Attitude era kid and missed the ruthless aggression era(regrettably so) and these videos helped catch me up. Like you said in the Wrestlemania 19 video what a time to be alive, a great era for sure! Thanks for making these videos it's fun to see how WWE keeps evolving thanks again on filling me on what I missed.
This show was when my wrestling interest was peaked. It’s shows like this where legends are made. It was also one of the rare WM that wasn’t in a stadium, which was kind of wired. However they did prove that they don’t need a giant crowd to make a spectacular WM
This wrestlemania takes me back with all the matches that had alot buildup. My favorite being Shawn michaels vs Kurt angle build because it was so good. I liked the batista triple h build too. Overall I enjoyed this mania and that first mitb match here was insane and this mitb match hasn't been topped since

Well made video and a great point. Really one of the most pivotal manias to date for all the reasons you stated: establishing the Faces and Heels of the 5-10 yrs, bringing focus to the streak, introducing MITB as a big factor in the title picture and a dream match to boot between Angle and HBK. The following Manias may have had bigger crowds, venues, budget but this one had the most importance to transition WWE from the attitude era and establish the main guys. Well done!

I think we can all agree that 2005 and the WM was the apex and epicenter of the Ruthless Agression Era. And in that one night Four stars became bigger than they would be without that night. Was in 3rd Grade so excited for this Mania with Kim Possible so the Drama coming out as well. 2005 was so amazing.

This was the first WrestleMania I bought on PPV, and I had so many friends over to watch it. It started at Royal Rumble that year, and we had a party for all 3 PPVs. Great times I'll never forget.
That RKO from the chokeslam and the two count had my heart feel like it was about to stop. Undertaker was my all time favorite wrestler and didn't want to see him lose at Mania.

I was born in October of 97 so I know of the attitude era and it got me into wrestling. When this happened it felt like a breath of fresh air just like the attitude era but this time it get better and that makes me so glad I grew up in the ruthless aggression era
