- Ah time for part 2. The best WWE PPVs from the second half of the 2000s, the best WWE PPVs from 2005 to 2009. As a 90s kid, the 2000s were my childhood, and wrestling was obviously a huge part of my childhood. From 2000 to 2009 we got some of the best WWE events of all time. I am so happy that this was the decade i grew up in. So many amazing Royal Rumbles, WrestleMania's, SummerSlams. The second half of the 2000s, saw the rises of John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton and Edge. Saw HBK and Undertaker get better with age. So many amazing moments and PPVs. Lets get nostalgic and look back at the best WWE PPVs from 2005 to 2009

Armageddon 08 holds a special place in my heart simply because of Jeff Hardy’s WWE Title victory. I legit was the biggest Jeff Hardy fan during that time. I was so happy when he finally won.
so in india in 2008 not many people used to have a PC which has a good internet. and many people use to go to the cyber cafe to access the internet and i was only 12 years.. and when i saw the result that jeff won the wwe champion.. i went out of the cyber cafe just to celebrate and screamed like an idiot
Same here. I remember watching SmackDown every week, watching all the PPVs up to Armageddon, watching Jeff constantly have the odds stacked against him, it was just an amazing moment when he won. Quite possibly the best underdog world championship win build in WWE history.

2005 will always be my favorite year of wrestling they have HBK versus Kurt Angle,Triple H vs Batista, undertaker versus Randy Orton and edge versus Matt hardy which kind of trash but look, John Cena versus I don’t know literally everyone inside the med card and I just love this year so much

2008 & 2009 were the last times we got some ppv names ( for the time) Backlash, No Mercy, Unforgiven, No Way Out, Armageddon, Vengence, Judgement Day! Truly an end of an era

These days were golden, My first season mode,Who ran over Teddy Long. Playing Gm mode and booking Cena for every match, good times.

2005-2008......where the YEARS, they bring me back to watch wrestling, I wasn't watching wrestling since Taker beat Hogan for the WWF tittle.....yeah that long, for me Wrestling was a childish thing and I missed the entire Monday Night wars, the rise of WCW and the birth the the Attitude Era, even I knew that Goldberg, Stone Cold and the Rock were killing it, I didnt watch any of it...................until 1 day, I stumble into a PPV, I dont remember the name, I just watch EDDIE GUERRERO vs REY MYSTERIO fighting for a kid.........I was ike, WTF? but I watch it, and I never saw a Rey Mysterio or Eddie Guerrero match ever in my life, and for 10 or 15 minutes, my jaw drop to the floor......I tune that week Smackdown and I watch Batista destroy some guy with a Batista Bomb......and UNDERTAKER was still in SD and he was the most badass man I have ever saw, putting down fools, then Eddie pass, and I couldnt stop watching and You Tube was a thing back then, that allow me to catch up, I start playing matches of the Attitude Era, the streak, Brock Lesnar, Orton and the rest was history. I watch every Wrestlemania , every Rumble (2007 man, my favorite RR of all time), every Cena vs Edge, oh man this period of time, sooo good, and I was a University freshman student, and still love every bit of this time, ruthless agression era is my favorite era of WWE.

I keep telling y’all 2007 has the best 6 PPV start ever like it’s really unmatched. 2007 is my fav year in wrestling and that was a great year
2009 stands out to me because Rey and Jericho had a awesome series of matches that were like WCW level and that was the year where Punk became the Straight Edge Messiah that Seth Rollins's gimmick clearly rips off.

09 was the last good year for wwe imo. after that year most people became part timers such as hbk,taker,jericho, etc. Smackdown was always better than raw during that time its just that raw always had the star power.

Same I grew up in the pg era and Punk was my GOAT as well but even tho we didn't grow up in the ruthless aggression era that doesn't mean we didn't have fun but yea the rise of Cm punk, the pipe bomb and the Cena vs punk feud will always hold a special place in my heart that was my childhood I actually started watching WWE in 2010 my first match I watched was streak vs career that made me a WWE fan

End of absolute peak WWE like end of 2007 if you were born in 1998 or lucky enough to be born in middle or earlier 90s and remember all the Austin rock stuff and everything the tag teams making it legendary and everything your lucky !! but from that time to about end of 2007 man oh man.. You had to live through it to understand the greatness of it can not be explained not to say there weren't more great matches more great moments and even years but from 90s to 2007 was something DIFFERENTTTT

It was truly awesome. From 2002 until 2009 I was glued to the television twice a week every week. It was once in a lifetime and being there was even better.
I am surprised you didn't include Armageddon 2006. That was an amazing ppv
One Night Stand 2008 didn’t get included either but it’s still holds up better than most of the recent Extreme Rules PPVs

Backlash 2009 is one of my favourites of all time, I first got exposed to WWE through video games & DVD’s. I remember watching Backlash 2009, Extreme Rules 2009, Attitude Era Collection dvds, Royal Rumble 2010, Unforgiven 2006 & WrestleMania 27.

Wrestlemania 23 was so hype bro bow you gonna pick backlash over it.. undertaker vs batista is one of my fav matches of all time, no cap. The money in the bank was insane this year. John cena pulling up in the mustang and beating Shawn Michaels. Such an iconic PPV and the theme song slaps too!

Solid list!! I'd put armageddon 2008 on the same pedestal as No Way Out 2003, it was a one match show but seeing Jeff Hardy finally win the title is just as special as Eddie's moment. plus, the personal build for hardy was a really good long term storytelling!

I briefly watched WWE in 2009 and then just officially became a fan of wrestling in 2010 and the rest is history.
oh and WrestleMania 26 is and always will be my favorite first wrestling pay-per view that I've watched during my preteen days.

WrestleMania 22 was my first ever WrestleMania and as a 9 year old I was mind blown. Still get goosebumps thinking about it, still my favorite WrestleMania of all time. Unforgiven 2006 is my all time favorite WWE PPV, felt so good seeing Edge get sacrificed.

9:46 that was one of my favorite matches endings in the WWE, it was fun to see how they ended the match
2005 was the year I started watching I mean I kinda watched a little bit in August but I really started watching fully when Eddie Guerrero passed away and my first ppv was Armageddon 2005 because before hand I played the smackdown games and my favourite matches to play was the hell in a cell match and when I heard undertaker and randy orton we’re gonna fight inside hell in a cell I asked my mom to order it and she did and the ppv was ok but the hell in a cell match was pretty damn good then i saw every ppv (except ecw one night stand) onward in 2006 and a lot of them were and some of them were not (summerslam,cyber Sunday,survivor series and December to dismember). But 2007 is where things were turned upside down I mean this whole heartedly the only ppv’s I liked were New Years Revolution,royal rumble, wrestlemania, backlash and survivor series I’m sorry but 2007 was my least favourite wwe year I mean the year started off on shaky ground we had John cena vs Kevin Federline, triple h tearing his quad and 2 people dressed as Donald trump and Rosie O’Donnell WHAT THE FUCK?!?! 🤦♂️ then it just kept going downhill stars like edge,undertaker,Bobby Lashley,Shawn Michaels got injured hornswoggle was Vince McMahon’s illegitimate son great khali was the world heavyweight champion and my interest was hanging on by a real short thread the only thing keeping me interested was John cena as wwe champion then he got injured and I just threw my hands in the air and just quit watching from October to January around the royal rumble
the 08 Cena comeback is also my favorite moment ever . I was 8 years old. it was such a surprise. Time flies like nothing else
