- 2016 in the WWE was such a special year. Especially the second half, and no other show captures how awesome 2016 was in the WWE, like Survivor Series. A show that featured the very best of Smackdown taking on the very best of RAW. All the wrestlers that made 2016 so awesome, in one match. Team Smackdown had WWE Champion, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Shane McMahon and Bray Wyatt. They were up against Team RAW. Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman. Stacked was an understatement. 4 months removed from the WWE draft it was time to see who the better brand was, and this match was a classic. One match that perfectly captured the epicness of WWE in 2016.. That alone made this show unforgettable.. however that was not
Goldberg made his return to the WWE after 12 long years away to take on Brock Lesnar, and what we got was something we never expected.
Lets go back to 2016 and take a look at Survivor Series 2016

Smackdown in 2016 almost felt like the attitude era's smackdown....
Edit after one year 😂😂 : i had accidentally written attitude era it felt like the Ruthless Aggression Era i just mixed it it up back then XD.

From the Mens RAW vs Smackdown Survivor Series Elimination match, to Goldberg vs Brock, and basically everything in between. 2016 gave us a really good Survivor Series show.

I really wish we had survivor series like these where the world champ is in the 5 v 5 match too and there is buildup just for the team we didn’t have it in the ones after 2016

At least we got probably Brock's two best matches since his return because of the whole champion vs champion thing.

@@ayaan8443 The Raw vs Smackdown match didn't even happen every single year since the first brand split. And there was only one time where the two world champions were in the match and that was in 2016. Batista was in 2005 while Cena had a one on one match.
That Men’s 5 on 5 match,holy cow. That might be my favorite match ever. The storytelling was amazing,the superstars in the match were amazing,everything was amazing.
It is a tragedy that Meltzer never rated it 5 Stars.

Goldbeg v Lesnar started at 10pm. I swear me, my squad and everyone around us that night were like these guys are gonna go street fight style for an hour. That 2 min match was the biggest shocker. That POP was crazy!!
2016 was my favorite year of the last decade. A new era, the return of the draft with the inclusion of NXT talent too. Dream feud between Cena and AJ starting, so great.

Bro...Survivor Series 2016 was goated!! Me and my boy were there live too...and that Men's 5 on 5 match was soooo sick! I remember we saw this guy after the event, and he said he came all the way from Australia to see Lesnar vs. Goldberg and it didn't even go 2 mins hahaha..

Survivor Series was my favorite PPV from 2016. Survivor Series 2016 is right up there with 2002, 2003 and 2005 as my favorite Survivor Series PPV

2K17 and 2K18 were not that good at all. 2K15 and 2K20 are worse but more well known due to how bad they were. 2K16 and 2K19 are the only WWE2K games this generation that I think you could give a 7/10.

This was an very good Survivor Series. I went to this PPV in Toronto with my fiancee, my nephew, one of my best friends & his fiancee. I say it was one of the best PPV'S from 2010-19. The ovation Jericho got was insane. Biggest pop of the night. Was surprised on how quick Goldberg vs Lensar was but it was very smart booking by the WWE. Can't say that now about the creative team
I was not able to go to this show live but I did get to go to takeover Toronto. Between the tag team match of DIY vs the revival and then the male survivor series match I have to say that was one of my favourite weekend of wrestling

I didn’t forget tho Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 GM mode episode 2
I was so broke when I was in my wwe phase that I never left, but my first PPV ever was wrestlemania 31 and I remember seeing the SVR 16 dvd in Walmart for like 5 bucks and it was 2018 and I remember in the tiny apartment acting like it was a live ppv and just had so much fun and then my mother got wwe network and it made me explode with enjoyment.
2016 was the first I watched wrestling. SmackDown was AMAZING! AJ Styles was THE MAN, Goldberg CLAPPED Lesnar and THAT Survivor Series tag match is EPIC!
I love this ppv, to bad I fell asleep during the kickoff tho. I got cold under the ac that night, but I watched it the next day and it was awesome.👏🏽
The hype was real too back then seeing AJ and seth in the same ring together, knowing that those two would competing with one another in different teams.

That survivor series just felt different, it was not a revamped version of bragging rights or completely pointless like 2015. It had marquee matches , excellent storyline matches like Sami vs miz and probably the best survivor series match in 2010s.

Personally for me, the latter part of 2016 (September-December), was amazing! However, I think Goldberg should've left after losing the Universal Championship to Brock Lesnar. Because that match with him against the Undertaker was painful to watch, not gonna lie.
