They need to bring back invasion storylines for Survivor Series. The 2016 build up for Survivor Series was fantastic.
Seth rollins Could u please tell me how many PPV Matches Roman reings has wrestle until summerslam 2022 since his debut in 2012
@@faisaleqbal6471 Roman debuted at Survivor Series 2012 and he's only missed October 2018 - January 2019 and March 2020 - August 2020
@@faisaleqbal6471 around 1200 matches
every time I hear WWE/F and Invasion in the same sentence it feels like a thousand stings by a warrior wasp
my soul is stilly trying to cope with the thrown away potential :(
@@bugsquashinghero891 Yes, and no. I mean "no" because the last thing I wanna see is more of him. Seth is dirty and trashy, but he's a breath of fresh air compared to Roman. I'd rather see my boys rise up to dethrone him and be dirtier and trashier than him. Literally.
2016 was like a series finale. After that, everything went downhill
Nah I felt like 2009 was like the finale year of wwe.
Facts
@@treyvonwilliams Cap
@@treyvonwilliams cap look at todays wwe
Crazy how everyone has a stopping point of when WWE went downhill I always hear 2001, 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2016
2016 wwe hit different 🔥🔥🔥🔥
2016 was the year I got in to the WWE
Hey how old are you
Samw with me
3:00 I was there when Shane McMahon returned. Craziest live wrestling moment for me
I’m only 14 but 2016 was peak life I would do anything to go back. Wwe 2016 was amazing I just didn’t realize until now.
Peak WWE and life was before you were born :')
@@kingnick2651 ah yes because you choose when life was at it's peak.
Me too just so I could watch this live every week sadly I fell out of wrestling for a few years and missed this
Damn I’m getting old
2010-13 was sum of my favs even though i was only 5-9 lol
2016 is the year when I started watching WWE.
2016 was a damn good year for WWE because of SmackDown live it was easy the best wrestling show they ever done in WWE in a long time and I'm happy they gave Shane McMahon creative freedom at the time him and Daniel Bryan wore phenomenal and talking smack was awesome that year was AJ Styles year God I miss 2016 smackdown that was phenomenal
I would probably say this with WWE last great year. 2016 was most definitely a huge upgrade from how terrible 2015 was. Sure they were a few low points…
- Year 2 of the Roman Reigns Experiment
- WrestleMania 32 fell flat
- Fin Bálor’s badly timed injury (which forever tainted his push)
- Daniel Bryan‘s retirement
Everything else was amazing.
- The year of AJ Styles
- SmackDown Live was relevant again
- The Cruiserweight Classic
- Amazing feuds (Miz vs Ziggler, Cena vs Styles, Sasha vs Charlotte, Styles vs Ambrose, etc.)
- JeriKO were amazing
- The Authority finally ended (even though they should’ve ended at Survivor Series 2014)
- Amazing matches
- The Women’s Division
You kidding me? 2017 was another great year for WWE
You forgot the great fatal four way intercontentnal championship at extreme rules 2016
@@nickintellect6431 2017 was mid at best stop it lol
@@nickintellect6431 2017 was so mid. The WWE title was flip flopped until Jinder Mahal grabbed the title and he was one of the worst world champs ever
To add on the list,
Good:
- NXT(Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, DIY, Revival, American Alpha, Enzo and Cass, Asuka)
- Heath Slater(no joke)
- James Ellsworth(before he became repetitive)
- The Brand Split(which was good before they kept doing it)
- Tag Team Wrestling(New Day’s legendary title run, DIY, Revival, American Alpha, The Usos, The Bar, Enzo and Cass, Rhyno and Slater)
Bad:
- Universal Title Design
- Underwhelming Dean Ambrose title run
- The Wyatt Family doing nothing
2016 was so awesome, whether it was Bray Wyatt or rejuvenated Smackdown LIVE, the entire AJ styles run, everything related to Jeri-KO, Cena- AJ feud, Danielson as GM, Charlotte-Sasha-Becky triple threat etc etc etc .. it was just so good.
Man 2016 so legendary🤧🤧
Honestly, the 2016 superstar of the year is The Miz in my book. AJ Styles was amazing as champion, and he comes in as a close second, but Miz carried the upper midcard and gave the IC title the prestige it had lost in recent years.
Totally fair but I think you meant 2016.
@@andraiy644 I did, thank you. 2017 would also be fair as well.
@@sethfreakinrollins9889 Your welcome and for 2017 I would go AJ Styles.
@@andraiy644 no 2016 is aj while 2017 was aj
@@edgeisthegoat I never said The Miz was the best wrestler of 2016, I just said it's fair if you think he is. I do think AJ Styles was the best wrestler this year too.
WWE after the Draft 2016 was so good especially Smackdown Live
They really need to bring back general managers. I like Adam Pearce, but Smackdown was so good in 2016 with Bryan as the Smackdown GM and Foley/Angle as the RAW GMs. I don't know what it is, but there was something so special about having fan favorite authority figures, and the matches we'd get were quite exciting. The era of Styles and Owens as champions was really fun.
NOOOOOOOOO 😂😂😂 wtf
The last thing we need are more Authority figures
Facts Bro 2016 was awesome The General Manager Concept just Worked plus it was an Amazing Survivor Series especially cause the General Manager thing made it better.Adam Pearce is pretty Bland and but ok.2016 is the year NXT reached its popularity it brought back the Love for Tag Team Wrestling
No, we don’t need general managers or any kind of authority figures onscreen. Wrestling has shown before that the Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon formula isn’t necessary anymore. Leave that shit in the past.
@@NoxWyatt you sound like a damn What Culture or Wrestle Talk video when you regurgitate the same thing all smarks say when anyone brings up Authority figures in WWE 🤣🤣🤣
Survivor Series 2016 was greatly built, it’s legendary from build up to the show. Only thing that have come close to that is Survivor Series 2019. Survivor Series used to be my favorite ppv but they gotta get rid of it or change the format to make it more interesting. First thing I feel they gotta do is get rid of that raw vs sd angle. It’s only worked in 2005 & 2016
MITB 2016 is one of my all time favourite ppvs. Ambrose cashing in, Cena v AJ.. even had one of my favourite bands doing the theme. Black Honey by Thrice fit so well with this show .. 10/10
This vid was Nothing short of spectacular
appreciate it🤝
Man. I miss the bromance of Jericho and Owens. To this day, I believe that Jericho Owens should have main evented WrestleMania for the Universal Title. But I guess, where there is money, there is big matches.
Ahh these were indeed good times. Both shows delivered and smackdown live always felt like the better show to me
2014 is another contender but other than that 2016 was pretty damn fire
Pretty underrated
2012 is the best year
Ah yes the year that got into the love of pro wrestling
2016 is my nostalgia
Bro Ambrose and AJ, Cena what a feud 🔥, smackdown was truly the land of opportunity passed the A show Raw!
SkS: 2016 is a nostalgia filled year with many great memories!
Me *total and irreversible mental breakdown in 2016*
The promo between Ambrose and Cena always stood out to me as one of the rare promo that Cena completely sold instead of doing the "Fine speech." _rubs bald spot_ routine
2016 was a fire year in WWE especially smackdown I never really watched NXT at that year
Finally met someone who had exactly the same experience as I did back in 2016 (I was 14). Smackdown live 2016 was soo great, I too didn't pay attention to nxt.
2016 was when i came back to watch WWE and ngl im glad i came back
This was one of the best years honestly. Probably just because my mom finally got into wrestling with me during this time.
2016 is one of favorite years ever. 2019 is my second favorite year from the 2010s
2019 was the worst year of wwe
I tend to think of WWE in terms of Wrestlemania to Wrestlemania rather than calendar years. Having said that, the time period from WM 32 to WM 33 is fondly remembered. Miz's IC title run, the meteoric rise of Braun Strowmann, the growing legitimacy of the women's division, THE ROOKIE YEAR OF AJ STYLES with his great programs (With Cena of course, but I think his program with Roman was underrated), KO and Jericho, the List of Jericho, Enzo & Cass before it went tits up, Goldberg's return before he overstayed his welcome post-WM 33, the first year of SmackDown Live in general, the Usos transforming from nobodies into a great team, and probably like a dozen other things I'm forgetting. Great memories.
WWE in 2016 was like WWE in 2000. Everything about that year was awesome if not close to perfect. Minus that one bad blemish that that year's WrestleMania.
This video is bringing back a lot of nostalgia since 2016 was when I watched wwe the most. Everything about that year was nostalgic, wwe was good, tna was still tna, broken hardys, omega and the young bucks was still in bullet club and bullet club was still popular, the adpocalypse never happened yet, and filthy frank and leafy were still making videos.
100% yes, & some parts of 2017. mainly bc that’s when i was 13-15 & i had a lot of good memories from that time period
The ELITE years of Smackdown were 2002-2005, 2007-2009, 2016-2017!
Ruthless Aggression Era belonged to Smackdown in EVERY WAY!
1000000% agree
2016 was one of my favorite years for WWE. I got the Network for Styles vs Cena. The cruiserweight classic. NXT. The brand split. Talking Smack. 2016 Men's Survivor Series match is my favorite SS match of all time. It all just clicked for me. 2016 was also the first year I started watching New Japan. Great year.
I remember back in 2015 I watched a lot of old TNA. when I saw AJ Styles debut I jumped out my seat.
guy killed it in 2016, tna run will always wash his wwe run tho imo
I was at this year’s Battleground what an amazing show the Shield triple threat and Sami and Kevin what a show.
2016 was the yearI returned to watching WWE and man was it a great year to watch
Smackdown Live was so fun back in 2016. Raw seemed old and stodgy, while SDL was new and fresh. It was the same on Smackdown when Paul Heyman booked the show, in the early years of this century.
The build up to Survivor series in 2016 and 19 were really great. 2016 gave us a lot of good matches and promos were really good on Raw/SD/Talking Smack. And also, NXT and Cruiserweight bought back the pure wrestling matches that were missing from years.
My fav year i love 2016
The biggest “What If…” of 2016: what if Finn Bálor never got injured?
He would have kept The Universal Title until WrestleMania 33 if Seth Rollins never injured his shoulder
@@keonjohnson6979 nah ko would had won the title around nov
@@iidomaxamed That is true
@@iidomaxamed What if CM Punk was drafted to SmackDown Live and faced AJ Styles at SummerSlam in 2016 instead of John Cena
@@iidomaxamed What if Charlotte Flair put her Raw Women's Title on the line against AJ Lee instead of Sasha Banks
2016 was such a wild time. While the first half was ok to mediocre, the second half was just legendary stuff. Lots of new faces to the company, like AJ Styles, the return of the brand split, the roster was stacked, both Raw and SmackDown were equally entertaining, NXT was still legendary stuff, every PPV of the second half was great, and so much more. 2016 as a whole was a great year. I wish I can go back to it, good times.😌
I remember watching my very first full episode of RAW in the summer of 2016. Must've been mid July. It was simply incredible. I decided to start following the WWE loyaly since then despite watching random matches since 2013. And that's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I watched SD Live the next day. I absolutely fell for the product, and admitedly I got my new WWE crush through SD Live in Alexa Bliss. I kinda still have a crush on the Goddess ngl. I remember how over the List of Jericho was. Watching it back today I'm impressed with how the former Y2J got a pen and a wooden board over. I didn't buy WWE 2K17 bc I had bought FIFA 17 that year but I got both versions of those two games the next year. WWE in 2016, at least in my opinion, just hit different
16:25 THE NOSTALGIA!!! I used to play this song on repeat when it was announced as the theme for Battleground just because of how great of a song it was.
Each show having their own identity as you said made the survivor series raw vs smackdown concept really good
Great video. This was a great year. You should do 2004. That was a year too.
Owens as champ was perfect!!!!
No he had a lot of problems like the fact that wwe focused on Jericho and the list more than the actual universal champion and he was feuding with seth and Roman at every ppv and the only ppv title defense that wasn't against one of them ended up being his last so yeah it was fun but nothing amazing
@@bugsquashinghero891 but they had great chemistry
2016 and 2014 was GOATED imo.
Great Rétrospective Bro ! Also, If anyone headed "Straight to the bank" after this video, You are the Man! Or the Woman! 🙌🏾😎
Bizzarely i aprreciate wwe in 2015 a lot as well the main roster being mediocre but NXT being good felt like waiting to open a christams present and 2016 being christmas day, soo many of the stars of nxt that I'd watched in NXT being brought up to the main roster,
It felt like a start of a new era
Yes 2016 everything felt new . Fresh and unpredictable
finally i’ve been waiting for this
My WWE era as a kid was 2004-2008. Then I got back into it 2016-17 when I was older. I picked some great Years to be a WWE fan
This vedio made my day 💕
Definitely need to do certain yrs like 2017 -2018 horrible 2014 2012 2013
The only negative from the 2016 era was Sasha Banks constantly losing the Raw Women's Championship and then winning it back
How many total no.of matches Roman reings has wrestle yet since his main roster debut in main roster until summerslam 2022 win\loss both
I took a break from watching WWE between 2014 and late 2015. 2016 was the year that drew me back in again.
The brand split was great , freshened things up , i loved ambrose and styles feud
Anyone will have a good match with AJ Styles, he's that good 🔥🔥
2012, 2015 and 2016 are def the top 3.
2k16 was one of the most amazing year of my life I was just a 12 years old in 6th class but I watched every episode of wwe raw and smack down as well as every paper view matches that same year and enjoy it so much I never forget it bro.
I started watching wwe from WrestleMania 32 and i was just 12 and the whole 2016 was so fun and exciting for me
AJ Styles literally brought Roman Reigns to his 2 best matches in this time ever
Wow in hindsight 2016 was amazing compared to what we got after that. Should’ve enjoyed that time more in the moment. But cheers, WWE is fun to watch now again under Triple H.
2016 smackdown lives were literally goated and the miz on raw as ic champ
Seeing the album “Starboy” made my day
Shoutout the bittersweet poetry instrumental in the background
How many 2016 videos are you going to make man. We get it
Rowan to Roman So creative man nice😂😂
2016 was the last year I watched fully before 2022. Absolutely top tier
2016 was amazing the best year of WWE in the 2010s I remember how fun it was with the brand split and all the fueds they had at the time. I miss it.
Really 2016 was a good ass year no lie
I love the Women’s Revolution :)
“We’re fighting against how the women are being treated!”
WWE: “YEAH HELL YEAH LETS DO THIS!”
“But aren’t you the ones that are treating us like this?💀”
The year I started watching wrestling again
YOU JUST MADE THE LIST
2017 was really good too when taking a look back at it
I respect your opinion but nah not for me, Raw as always was awful, SmackDown wasn't awful but it was mid.
2017 wasn’t good at all:
- Kevin Owens dropping the universal title to Goldberg
- failed MITB cash in
- jinder mahal title reign
- bray Wyatt lackluster title reign
The first half Yeah but after Wrestlemania they gave up
@@andraiy644 in 2017 raw was better than smack down
@@bugsquashinghero891 No way.
The way you research for this video is respectful
As i’m sure it was for many , 2016 was the year that got me back into WWE cause of how good it was. I’m a ruthless aggression child born in 2000 and stopped watching after CM punk left in later 2013, when 2016 brand split happened It brought so much intrigue back.
As the 45th US president and WWE hall of famer. I have to say that 2016 was the year that people were hyped for brand split and I shocked everyone when I got elected president.
Stop talking.
This just me my favorite ppv of 2016 mitb
Can't wait to watch this full video but I can confidently say it was all downhill from here.
2016 was probably the last full year where I watched nearly everything the WWE put out.
Amazing video can you do royal rumble 2022 rebooking?
It was the first time I started watching it it was nostalgic for
the dean/moxley cash is my favorite moment in WWE history
8:00 how the tables have turned
16:26 This is a war! Given the storyline this was legendary!!!
I miss this time in wwe
if only wm 32 had AJ Styles vs Shawn Michaels. THAT would’ve elevated that Mania
when i think of wwe in 2016 i think of smackdown, dean ambrose and aj styles
And now were ganna talk about how great 2022 was well at least a Mid year, when HHH era started
Or don't downgrade it, besides elimination chamber and the royal rumble, WWE has been delivering in PLEs. AEW has had one of the best storylines in wrestling in a long time, Punk and MJF. Forbidden Door, WrestleMania 38, Hell in a Cell, SummerSlam and Revolution. Vince retires; and his water-spitting, stoic son in law, gains the absolute advantage in the handling of WWE booking. Gives faith to WWE fans and to those that have lapsed with a broken dream. So he says to the old regime, " out of time, so say goodbye" and gives second chances to those who were, unceremoniously divorced from the once heaven for wrestling paradise without.
That's Wrestling in 2022 so far
2016 Smackdown just after the draft was amazing
Best roster in both men’s and women’s
Only lasted a while
To me in ended when Ambrose, Mickie James and Alexa Bliss got drafted to Raw
Legendary year
2016 was special. Aj’s run didn’t disappoint, nxt was on fire. 1998 goldberg returning. i should have enjoyed dean’s reign but it was only decent and it was the right call they gave the title to aj, finally wwe doing something right for talents that came over from other promotions. hell tna got the broken hardys and la knight was starting to talk.
My most fav is still 2014_15 since 2010
Expecially Brocks Title Reign was a amazing
We all miss 2016
👇🏼
2014 2016 & 2017 were decent years for wwe, aint no attitude era but still fun
You should do a video on the miz intercontinental run during this time make a video like the Adam cole one.
I love 2016 wwe
That shield three men triple thret match is a wrestlemania main event deserve concept
2016 NBA Finals was the greatest event of that year
