- Over the course of 4 years Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, and Triple H told 4 of the best WrestleMania stories ever. The streak had become a phenomenon at that point, but that was beside the point. After retiring Shawn Michaels Triple H and Undertaker put up one match in hell in a cell as a love letter to the hell in a cell. It was simply known as the end of an era.

It bothers me how people compare Triple H vs Taker to current storylines. No, you cannot have something like that until Roman, Seth, Mox, Bryan, KO, all reach their final years. Triple H vs Taker had three careers worth of build. You cannot recreate that with a couple months build for current stars.

It probably will. Once all of the current storylines are wrapped up the writing will be phenomenal. But for now he has to try to make do with what he's got.
The greatest HIAC of the last decade..Nothing comes close..The star power,the story,the wrestling and the crowd..

Watching this makes me even more upset that they had the streak end. This was the perfect story if Triple H and HBK can't break the streak it should of never been broken.
Yeah, it was such a silly decision especially since Lesnar didn’t even need the W. He was already “the guy”….they threw the streak away for absolutely nothing

Nah Lesnar Breaking the streak was perfect. I alwasy knew he was going to be the one to do it since Lesnar had Takers number back in the early 2000's. If anyone was going to do it it was going to be him.

This match was something special for sure. The story, the violence, the Sweet Chin Music of HBK then the pedigree of HHH...holy crap, this was spectacular especially when Taker kicked out.

The rivalry of Undertaker vs Triple H and Shawn Michaels is probably my most favourite rivalry of all time. It feels very unique, it doesn't feel like a normal wrestling rivalry, it feels more like a epic warfare of a great fantasy or mythology. 💜
Probably bc there’s so much history there. Taker & HBK were always WWF/E guys & HHH has been there since 95……it was definitely something special.
I always felt like HBK vs Ric Flair was sort of chapter 1 of this story. From 08 to 12 those 5 guys told a really interesting story of Legacy and immortality

Tbh it's one of my favourite WM build and the match itself was a masterpiece. Seeing undertaker kicking out of Sweet chin music followed up by Pedigree was just beautiful. Phenomenal video man.

This was definitely one of the best matches we fans have ever gotten. Everything about this was perfect. The storytelling, the buildup, the reasonings, the drama, emotion, all of that. HBK, HHH and Undertaker have given us so much memorable moments throughout their careers and it all led up to this absolute beauty of a match. I remember watching WrestleMania 28 with my fam live, and our reactions to it were insane, when the Superkick/Pedigree Combo happened, we thought it was over and when the kickout happened, we all lost our minds. HBK’s selling of everything that was happening in front of him was absolutely realistic and perfect, I love it. I swear this match had it all, the violence, emotion, beautiful commentary with JR and King like old times, Attitude Era like crowd, and so much more. This match will forever be one of my all time favorites for giving us one hell of a time and it was a great closure for us Attitude and Ruthless Aggression fans. Absolutely amazing retrospective, homie.😊👍❤️
My favorite WrestleMania match of all time was Shawn Michaels vs undertaker, I teared up a ton when he retired. It genuinely made me sad at the time, he was just so good at everything and entertaining in every aspect of wrestling

That sweet chin music pedigree combination made almost 99% of the audience believe in the fact that the streak is over. The greatest kickout/nearfall in the history of Professional wrestling. Only Kenny omega's kickout at 1 from revolution 2020 after getting hit by golden trigger is a close second.

The undertaker versus triple h End of a era hell in a cell match (HBK special ref) to me was the last greatest hell in a cell match as for story Telling‼️And of course the build up was so dope with 3 of the greatest legends of all time 💯💯💯 the original 3 who put that match on the map back then 🔥A top 3 all time match back at WM28‼️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

This is what got me back into WWE in my teenage years. I watched WM 28 first, and the end of an era just made me go back to see everything that led up to it

I loved this match, wm28 was the first wwe ppv i watched when i was 8 years old. i was Dying to see Punk vs Jericho. my mom and dad loved watching this match and that superkick pedigree combo shouldve ended the streak.

This is storytelling that made Profesional Wrestling cool and so popular during the 90's. It's the kind of storytelling that desperately needs to return to the WWE, and a lot of other Wrestling promotions.
The end of an era would've been the perfect retirement for both Triple H and The Undertaker

If you're taking about the era of the Undertaker and DX, that era ended when the Attitude Era ended. The product hasn't been the same since McMahon bought WCW. Wrestling is one of the few forms of athletic entertainment where guys are expected to come back in their 40s and 50s and beyond and actually put on a decent show. That's like asking Pavel Bure or Mario Lemieux to come back and play decently. It's not going to happen.
End of an era years after that era should have ended. Terry, Paul, Hickenbottom, Dwayne, Cena they are all the same. Can’t ever put their egos aside and have to shove themselves into the spotlight again and again long after it should have been given to younger/current guys.

The end of an era? More like the zombie afterlife of the era. Mark and Paul were well over a decade past their prime. But of course they couldn’t swallow their egos enough to let it go and let other guys have the spotlight. Then they STILL had to do it again at the “greatest” royal rumble.
