CM Punk I think is perfectly rated. He changed wrestling in terms of what type of wrestler can become a star in WWE. Plus he is fantastic. I’m really enjoying this AEW run so far although now is the time we give him a big time storyline. He can do anything. He’s like Stone Cold where he isn’t flashy but you pay to see him compete and he takes wrestling seriously, you will never see him stage dive whilst he is making an entrance for a match, he is focused on winning and when wrestlers take wrestling seriously it makes it feel more real and fans buy into it more.

That's really what wrestling is all about. The real reason you can't really compare guys from different eras is benefits depending on what era you grew up in depends on who to you is the best. I grew up in the 2000's so my list of the best have an overwhelming number of guys from that era. Probably like 8/10 if I made a top ten.
Let's be real I'm not sugarcoat anything. Say what you will about how controversial he is but if it weren't for CM Punk achieving success he had in all of wrestling then guys like Daniel Bryan Seth Rollins and many of the other big time independent wrestlers today would not be as successful as they are. CM Punk's breakout on 2011 led to the surge of indie talent we've seen in the last decade.
CM Punk will always have a special place to me, as someone who grew up watching wrestling from around the end of the Ruthless Aggression Era into the PG Era, after Jeff Hardy, Punk was the guy. Whether it was The Cult Leader, The Nexus, his entertaining World Heavyweight Championship Title Runs and having some of my favourite feuds, he was just able to make most material work. Honestly the pipebomb just elevated him for me, in me and my friends eyes, he was already our guy and the guy we wanted to see beat the ever present and annoying Cena & Orton (yes we used to hate both of them back then, not so much now though 🤣)

CM Punk, to me, is a properly rated Talent, in that he's not underrated, because he's a damn good wrestler and can actually talk on the mic, which is great. So, while I wouldn't have CM Punk in my top 10 favorites, he'd definitely crack my top 20, definitely being more in the higher up area.
I feel like a narrative started over the last few years that Punk was overrated, purely because people were unhappy he left wrestling. I don't think a rating would do his work justice. He pushed a button in fans they hadn't realized was there for years, actually pushing that kayfabe/ real line in ways that no one else could do at the time. He was the perfect foil for Cena during his "Cena Sucks" phase, and the biggest problem was not letting him be the centerpiece of his own title reign. He earned that, and never even got to defend the title at WM.
Legend. I'm enjoying his AEW run. I hope that he'll be a awesome as always. Beeest in the world! Even after 7 years I'm a big fan and I will not hide that.
Punk is my favorite wrestler the one that got me into wrestling causes before I didn’t understand it. Punk loved me understand the wrestling the business. I loved his style and his promo, he also was into the same things I was like comics and music. So glad Punk came back in AEW.
He was one of the best in his era, the heel John Cena "Super Cena" needed at the time. Great in the ring and the mic. He had 2 defects in my opinion: 1) We all know Vince likes big, muscular men as their Champion. You need to work thrice as hard or bring the big bucks consistently to remain champion for extended periods of time, which Punk did. 2) With his personality, I think he was victim of his own success. Knowing he was not easy to work with it was just unsustainable.
He did quit. He abandoned his job. Like any other workplace if your suspended and you fail to show up to work the day after the suspended ends you abandoned your job. He wanted wwe to call him (ie: kiss his ass) he's happy now. Good for him. I hope he brings aew the ratings they want that way his 3.5mil a year is warranted
He is so contriversial and is a natural voice on the microphone.I have read that he has a lot of admiration for Brett Hart.Am i the only one that would love to see both CM Punk vs Brett Hart. Both in their prime!!
Only thing I could compare watching CM Punk's career to is how the people who saw Green Day open for Operation Ivy feel like today seeing them play packed stadiums. To see that fire reach that level and plow through barriers.....an unthinkable ride. Well not the "u sold out" dweebs. As Henry Rollins said 'PAY THEM, PAY THEM DOUBLE!"
My opinion, He is great, awesome, good rated. His WWE career was better than most of other ex WWE wrestler. But now, he has become something he use to hate, something he use to stand against. I'm seriously not feeling the punk that I use to feel this long. I guess I should wait until the home coming of punk is over. (It's very hard to give wrestling opinions nowadays 🤦🏻♂️)
He’s a guy just below RVD and Eddie tier when it comes to in ring work and star power. But anyone who thinks this guy should have been the top guy over Cena is delusional.
I say he’s rated fairly I see underrated as someone overlooked by fans and the company like idk someone that fits that And overrated would be someone that everyone likes for no apparent reason like dream
Punk is what kept me watching wwe, he was legitimately one of the best talents they ever had and Vince fucked him so much. Vince has singlehandedly ruined or worsened so many careers it's insane.
Cm punk is a little underrated IMO , he is known as one of the best wrestlers and perhaps the best on the mic but people often forget he was the genuine voice of the voiceless, the fans basically spoke through cm punk during the 2010s
Punk was underutilized from 2008 to 2011. He easily could've been a bigger star with proper booking before the pipebomb even happened. Especially when he led the Straight Edge Society. That stuff was gold. He really should've had a run with the WHC, but sadly, never did. So for that time period he was underrated. I don't think Punk was ever overrated because he put on some really good matches, and he's always been a good mic worker. He earned his spot and did a damn good job at it - despite being held back at times. It's just that some fans loved to compare Punk with Austin, and aside from the edginess, they're not really comparable. Austin drinks beer; Punk is straight edge. Austin was a megastar; Punk was just a star. They're only comparable on the mic, but even then, Austin's the better talker. So in that regard, he can be overrated. Punk is good, but not THAT good. Either way, I feel he's properly rated by those in the industry, and slightly overrated by fans.
I thought it was pretty lacklustre. RAW got stacked, but SD got done dirty. Don’t know who Roman will face after Drew/Jeff. But they drafted a ton of RAWs undercard😂 have to wait and see but RAW ran away with it this year
@@SuperkickStudios yeah have to agree but also bear in mind it depends on the overall plan for the next 12 months concerning talent relations. Kevin Owens might be heading out therefore they sent him to raw for his final run.
my opinion as a 20+ year wrestling fan, dude was one of the best on the mic. i do believe his wrestling ability lacked. he got much more credit than deserved physically. as much charisma as anyone i’ve ever seen but he’s no where close to the top ten of all time
You know something: there's a saying "That did not age well" I can say for certain That CM Punks Pipe bomb has aged very well. Because he predicted the state that WWE was headed in, in the forseeable future. I guess punk was a Fortune Teller.
Great in ring worker great on the mic not undertilized but undervalued he never had the training wheels took off and let free be was always outshadowed because vince wanted to be safe

He was one of the best in his era, the heel John Cena "Super Cena" needed at the time. Great in the ring and the mic. He had 2 defects in my opinion:
1) We all know Vince likes big, muscular men as their Champion. You need to work thrice as hard or bring the big bucks consistently to remain champion for extended periods of time, which Punk did.
2) With his personality, I think he was victim of his own success. Knowing he was not easy to work with it was just unsustainable.
CM Punk: I was fired
Wwe fans: He was fired
WWE: He's quit
Wwe fans: Srsly Punk???? You leaving us?!?
He did quit. He abandoned his job. Like any other workplace if your suspended and you fail to show up to work the day after the suspended ends you abandoned your job. He wanted wwe to call him (ie: kiss his ass) he's happy now. Good for him. I hope he brings aew the ratings they want that way his 3.5mil a year is warranted
He left and then got fire but he walked out first
They fired him on his wedding day
@@havensinclair3832 yes and wouldn't have been fired if he didn't quit
My fav wrestler of all time.
He is so contriversial and is a natural voice on the microphone.I have read that he has a lot of admiration for Brett Hart.Am i the only one that would love to see both CM Punk vs Brett Hart. Both in their prime!!
Imagine this. What if for WM29, we would have gotten Rock vs Punk and Cena vs Taker instead of the latter happening?
He got a match against Taker and was still a Karen about it
@@freshjuice457 cry
@@mft2598 Literally the only person to cry about it was Punk lol
Next video"how good was the Orton and Wyatts' rivalry"
Great video my dude
I don't care about the haters, as far as I'm concerned he has FUCKING TALENT...
Superkick is back
Only thing I could compare watching CM Punk's career to is how the people who saw Green Day open for Operation Ivy feel like today seeing them play packed stadiums.
To see that fire reach that level and plow through barriers.....an unthinkable ride.
Well not the "u sold out" dweebs.
As Henry Rollins said 'PAY THEM, PAY THEM DOUBLE!"
My opinion,
He is great, awesome, good rated.
So true 💯
He just elevated MJF which is the best feud in professional wrestling right now.
To put it short, CM Punk is this generation's "Stone Cold" Steve Austin 💪💯
no
Nobody tops Stone Cold. Sorry, but there's no way. They're not even that comparable outside of mic work, and even then, Austin was the better talker.
@@stoddard1953 No lie there. I'm not necessarily saying who's better. I'm just saying that both share very similar character traits.
Lol
🤣🤣
they tried burying him even with the push, still a goat for me
How did they try to Bury Punk? Lmao. It's like you smarks learn wrestling terminology just to say it when things don't go your way
Punk is my dad's favorite wrestler
they did my dawg dirty mann. he came back in 2011 thinking he was gonna be made a mega star only to be F'd over again & again. Im glad he's in AEW
Early BTW love your vids
Great Video👍🏾
Well this didn’t end well
An update video perhaps ?
He’s a guy just below RVD and Eddie tier when it comes to in ring work and star power. But anyone who thinks this guy should have been the top guy over Cena is delusional.
Cena is not that good😂😂😂
That match with lesnar was unreal tho
CM Punk comeback in AEW is going be interesting hopefully he becomes next world champion
If cm punk never left their wouldn't have been a yes movement
CM Punk is the man
I say he’s rated fairly
I see underrated as someone overlooked by fans and the company like idk someone that fits that
And overrated would be someone that everyone likes for no apparent reason like dream
WWE always does this "Screwing" job to the guys so they can become bigger star.... They did it with Punk, Bryan, Kofi and Becky....
You think Kofi Bryan and Becky are that big deal ?
Remove becky from that list xD
@@harshilpatel7855 Why? I'm sure you're just ignorant about her run after winning Royal Rumble
So what's the definitive answer, is he underrated or overrated??? 🤔
damn. that last line, there is nothing for him to rebel against in AEW. you're so right. if only he saw it that way too
VIDEO IDEAS:
How to save Survivor Series
Fantasy Booking WM38
What makes Sasha Banks so good?
Can you do a video on Umaga, I just thought he was underrated, should've been WWE champion at least once
Punk is what kept me watching wwe, he was legitimately one of the best talents they ever had and Vince fucked him so much. Vince has singlehandedly ruined or worsened so many careers it's insane.
Underrated if don’t use correctly (by AEW)
Overrated by (Smarks)
Rated by summer of punk in WWE
Spoken like a true prodigy. I couldn’t agree more with this statement. Took the words right out of my mouth.
How is Austin better on the mic
Austin better on the mic??
Best in the world ✊
I stopped watching WWE after he left.
Superkick studios bro what are your thoughts on draft 2021
I know I’m not super kick studios but I thought it was lazy lol
I thought it was pretty lacklustre. RAW got stacked, but SD got done dirty. Don’t know who Roman will face after Drew/Jeff. But they drafted a ton of RAWs undercard😂 have to wait and see but RAW ran away with it this year
@BOTH SMARKS AND ANTI-SMARKS SUCK ya but I'll take time
Gable Steveson being drafted to Raw was good. Would be interesting to see what he does
@@SuperkickStudios yeah have to agree but also bear in mind it depends on the overall plan for the next 12 months concerning talent relations. Kevin Owens might be heading out therefore they sent him to raw for his final run.
Love him or hate him he’s a TOP STAR my all time favorite
Just a legend
He was the Star
my opinion as a 20+ year wrestling fan, dude was one of the best on the mic. i do believe his wrestling ability lacked. he got much more credit than deserved physically. as much charisma as anyone i’ve ever seen but he’s no where close to the top ten of all time
Triple H has stated that he helped CM Punk write the Pipebomb, and several wrestlers since have said that it was fully scripted.
One of the best of all time
Why are his contract expiring stories his best 😂
Just loving his new avatar in aew
You know something: there's a saying "That did not age well" I can say for certain That CM Punks Pipe bomb has aged very well. Because he predicted the state that WWE was headed in, in the forseeable future. I guess punk was a Fortune Teller.
It was a rehearsed promo
@@KnucklesWTD Actually nobody knew if punk was rehearsing or he was breaking Kayfabe
ohhhh thanks mate I was actually gonna watch his ovw run lol
Lmao this aged like milk
Great in ring worker great on the mic not undertilized but undervalued he never had the training wheels took off and let free be was always outshadowed because vince wanted to be safe
What about your NXT 2.0 Video ?
Gonna give it a week or so more, don’t wanna jump to conclusions that quick. But it’s coming
LA Knight didn't got drafted! 😭😭
Noooo😭
Bro you have to make a part 2 with punk returning to wwe at survivor series
