Here's how a real booker should book this coming Wednesday: MJF starts with a promo. He will vent and get the crowd all excited. He will not leave the arena until Khan gives him a title shot at Punk. So the viewers get MJF at the beginning and they stick around because he will show himself backstage one hour later. First match: Miro takes on Malaki Black. Jayme Hayter confronts Brit Baker about costing her the title at the PPV. After the confrontation, have Excaliber say that Brit Baker will face Jaime Hayter next week for the #1 contender match. Second match: FTW vs Gunn Club for #1 contenders match for AEW tag titles. The Young Bucks and Omega walk backstage and see Danielson and Claudio. The Bucks tease Danielson and Claudio for losing at the PPV. Danielson issues a challenge to the Bucks and Omega. Then Moxley shows up claiming that he, too lost at the PPV, so why not put up those shiny belts up during the Main Event tonight against the three losers from the PPV. It's official, the Bucks and Omega vs Danielson, Claudio, and Moxley for the trios title in the main event. MJF is causing ruckus backstage trying to get a title shot with Punk in his home state of NY at the Arthur Ashe stadium. But instead runs into Wardlow, both have a stare-down and keep going their own way. Third match: Tay Melo vs. Ruby Soho in a falls count anywhere match. Sammy tries to interfere and then Eddie Kingston and Eddie are fighting all over the arena. Fourth match: Samoa Joe vs Giant pinhead Singh in a short match that has Miro come out and challenge Samoa Joe for a title match next week. Shiavaone interviews CM Punk. MJF comes out and surrounds the ring with his cronies. Punk accepts the match at Ashe Stadium. Darbi, Sting, and the Acclaimed come out to help Punk in what turns out in a slug fest. Punk goes after MJF, but MJF escapes without contact. Wardlow defends TV title vs. anyone (open challenge) and Powerhouse Hobbs comes out and takes the challenger. Back and forth match. Ricky Starks costs Hobbs the match setting up a rematch between Hobbs and Starks at Ashe Stadium. Jade Cargill is being interviewed backstage and Serena Deeb comes to congratulate her on being undefeated. Deebs makes a remark that her opponents so far have not been good opponents and Jade should give Deebs an opportunity. Cargill hesitates and says that if Deebs can defeat Hikaru Shida on Rampage, she can have that opportunity. Main Event: Bucks and Omega vs BCC for the Trios titles. Great match all the way when Adam Page comes over to interfere on the Bucks and Omega's behalf, Regal leaves commentary to confront Adam Page and Page gives Regal a Buckshot lariat on the arena floor. Moxley gets distracted and is rolled up by Omega for the pin. The Elite leave with Adam Page with the titles. A show like this will give us quality guys top to bottom.
Punk has been in the Wrestling Business Longer than Tony has. Tony is already the Boss so money is never an issue for him so I’m sure he doesn’t mind taking pointers here and there to improve his management skills
Listing to this again and you know.....for all the people saying Punk buried Tony and the entire company, he praised the fact that AEW has great wrestling minds backstage, a strong roster, is worried about Adam Cole's health, praised Danhausen for his boots of all things and said MJF is very talented....... this doesn't sound like a guy burying a company, more like calling out the EVPs and Hangman Page. When Punk says that it's not Tony's position to make it clear, I don't see that as Punk burying Tony Khan at all. Punk's merely stated that guys who are (and should act like) EVPs should know better than to not address the issue of the Cabana rumours with Punk, instead of seemingly ignoring it and siding with their friends.....mainly, Hangman Page. But at the same time, if TK knew this rumour issue was becoming a problem, then address it. Punk wanted it handled in private and no one gave Punk that consideration. Frankly, Punk spilling it all at the scrum was the picture of a guy who had enough, was frustrated that it wasn't handled in private, so he brought it up publicly. Clearly, thata finally caught the attention of the EVPs. Was it a bad look for Punk....yes, but not by his choice.......he was pretty much forced into this.

The one thing I will say about this, is that Punk never talked about Colt until this moment. Not once. To continually have it thrown back in his face when he finally returned to wrestling, having found his love for it again, must have made him angry. It also must have hurt him. You said it yourself "I wouldn't listen to punk either". That's just dumb. Guys like punk, Mark Henry and all the agents in the back have decades of experience. That's the main difference between Tony and Vince. Vince treats his business like a business, whereas Tony treats his business like a backyard federation or a hobby.
It’s almost a year later but watching this back when punk mentioned mark henry as one of the great minds in their locker room alongside dean malenko and jerry Lynn its really cool to me. Like one of those guys is definitely not like the others, but he still appreciates Henry as a great mind and talent in the business. As he should 👏🏻
Henry worked for WWE from 1995. And if we're being completely honest, but the later stages of his career, he was a significantly better promo than Malenko or Lynn ever were. Who ever had a problem with Mark Henry? More to the point, who was brave enough to step to Henry? There's a story (with video evidence too) that Vince and other management thought it would be funny to tell Henry he had a match but he didn't. So they sent him to the ring and just left him standing there like an idiot. Henry waited nearly 10 minutes before he realised Sin Cara was not coming out. A visibly pissed off Henry walks to the back. It's been reported Henry was so angry he damaged equipment and everybody avoided the incredibly angry worlds strongest man. Henry has said, the next day, Vince called him into his office and sincerely apologised. This is same guy, who stepped in the middle of a Lesnar Jericho confrontation, but he wanted nothing to do with a PO Mark Henry lol. Henry actually did say, receiving a personal apology from Vince, showed Vince actually did value him.
This media scrum was indeed one of the most explosive moments in professional wrestling history. CM Punk's raw and unfiltered comments not only shook the foundations of AEW but also highlighted the deep-seated issues within the company. His willingness to openly criticize his colleagues and the company's management was both shocking and refreshing. It showed a side of Punk that fans had always known existed but rarely saw in such a public forum. The aftermath of this media scrum has been nothing short of dramatic. The fact that CM Punk, a man who had sworn off WWE, found himself back in talks with them speaks volumes about the state of AEW. It’s a testament to how toxic the environment must have been for him to consider returning to a place he once despised. This moment will undoubtedly be remembered as a turning point, not just for Punk, but for the wrestling industry as a whole. Tony Khan's role in this saga is also worth noting. His efforts to mend the relationship between Punk and WWE, whether intentional or not, have had a significant impact. It’s a reminder that in the world of professional wrestling, alliances and rivalries are ever-changing, and sometimes, the most unexpected outcomes can occur. And yes, Punk's line, "I'm hurt, I'm old, I'm f'cking tired, and I work with f'cking children," is iconic. It encapsulates the frustration and exhaustion that many wrestlers feel but rarely voice. It's a line that will be quoted for years to come, a symbol of Punk's no-nonsense attitude and his commitment to speaking his truth, no matter the consequences.

MJF starts with a promo.

And you may be a mark
In that case may god have mercy on your soul
Because your soul is dumb
I was staring at Tony’s face the whole and it’s just hilarious how scared he is
Punk's running the show and Tony's just there to make him happy. Not even a year ago, Tony was all but talking about building the company off Page's back, now he's just sitting there allowing Punk to completely bury him.
@@Itsthecreative The Elite and Page shouldn't be spreading false rumors about Punk, or going into business for themselves in 'solidarity' in the first place, then Punk wouldn't have to do this.
@@carrastealth Tony should've been more transparent from day one. At the end of the day, Colt was a big presence in the locker room and all of a sudden just was gone. If Tony doesn't make it clear why (to anyone including Colt), can you blame them for thinking the man who's at the top of the card (that also happens to hate Colt) may have played a part in it, directly or indirectly. They wanted to protect their own.
That's a very "...more f***ing damage control..." expression 😂
Punk should have been fired on the spot. He's a crybaby bitch and ultimately will sink the AEW ship.
coming back to watch this now makes me laugh even more 😂 thank you aew for building up guys like cody and cm punk for wwe returns 👏
Yep you can thank aew for bring cm punk back to wrestling and giving him the hunger.
AEW did not really build either up. Cody was the most hated babyface in AEW. Punk spent a lot of time hurt giving the Bucks and Adam Page enough time to start dirt sheet rumors about him and poison the well. It actually took both of them going back to WWE to become Stars again.
Cody helped make aew🤔 so that leaves me with the question of how far on the spectrum are you?
Jade is a star waiting to happen as well. Her look is amazing and she has so much natural charisma.
@@Saddler1944they were already stars.
POV: You are watching this after he got fired
Bro I miss him
Yeah
R.i.p
And soon or later u all going to say that he was right
👏👏👏👏
"he wants me to work with pricks!" Tony's face 😂😂😂
AEW is going downhill
The MJF part? Total work everything else? Yikes.
@@tonyjackson4078 why is everybody on cm punk's ass? Isnt this what everybody wanted? Everyone wanted the mean and heel cm punk and now your getting him so what's the fuckin problem? And I bet if mjf did this yall would be praising him like a god when he's just a cm punk wannabe
@@PaulTripleHLavesqueSchuetter You sure? This is going to boost ratings this is the shit wrestling fans want not role plays.
@@PaulTripleHLavesque what he quoted, that was a actual “ work” apart of the interview he was playing his character aside from that
There’s something just so chaotic about Punk airing all his dirty laundry out to the press while also calmly chowing down on those muffins…
With a bloody face lol
He eat like a pig XD
dude his name is Punk... So he acts like a punk Pu$$Y
It’s fucking iconic
yeah... he's just a spoiled brat...
I love hearing the pen drop after Punk says, “Who fancies himself a journalist?”
Tony will NEVER be Vince. Vince would have never allowed someone to bury half the roster like that
Yea beacuse Vince would bury the roster himself 😂
Vince will never allow anyone to disrespect locker room veterans... Cowboy burying cm punk in wwe? Yo. Vince would've fired him and made him clown for rest of his contract.... Say what you want about Vince, he's business..
Punk problem with wwe was creative and ego clashing with egos but not unprofessional behavior...
For all vinces annoying problems he would never sit there and let ur EMPLOYEE shit on ur buisness like that never happens but my god absolutely love it hilarious
Vince to busy pooping on people 😮
considering the legal troubles Vince is in now, Id rather have bad boss Tony Khan right now.
5:30 Punk just eating his muffin after he pulls the working with pricks line and Tony just trying to move on pops me everytime
I've never seen a man VIOLENTLY eat muffins till this vid.
He needs a rum and Coke
"pops me"
Man, Punk masterfully created his opening to go off about all this without anybody even needing to ask about it. He walked in there knowing what we wanted to do.
And proved what a selfish immature prick tbay he is , all he spoke about was himself instead of promoting the company , he’s probably fired aswell
Makes me think it may be a work. Regardless, VERY entertaining. But listening to Keeping 💯 w/ Konnan he said the bucks and omega are such nice passive guys who he could never imagine getting involved in a fight. The fight described seems very weird
@@JimboLimbo432well they went mob rule and kicked Punk's door in and have been suspended for it
@@stueymorris allegedly
@@JimboLimbo432 Look at it this way, the elite being EVP's have cost Khan an incredible amount of money, they're overshadowed by far better wrestlers and they're selfish, the likes of uncle Dave etc have done very well to keep as much of that hidden but now they've been called out for it on a global scale, very easy to see why they mad. If they did break Punk's door down I don't blame Punk for going in on them
This was literally the start of the cm punk returning to WWE moment. Right here is when it started the spiral out of AEW right back into WWE
CM Punk: They're alot of guys I wish I was in the same locker room with 10 years ago
Also CM Punk: I’m tired of wrestling these kids who think they know everything
to be fair, I'm sure Punk expected more out of the EVPs when he first got to AEW.
He didn't expect them to be a bunch of premadana ballerinas. He thought people still listened to the advise of the stars who came before them. He was wrong. Also you can see why AEW hasn't taken off the way it should have. If the talent thinks they know everything and think they don't need to improve that's a big problem
RIGHT
@@irishpanic people can choose to listen to advice from who they want, I wouldn't listen to Punk either
@@Mr_Leo_DS yes clearly you don't listen because if you did you would know punk wasn't talking about the young guys not taking advise from him. He name dropped a few agents, guys like mark Henry, who try and give the young guys advise in the back. That is the problem with you young people today. You said it yourself "I wouldn't listen to punk either". That's just dumb. Guys like punk, Mark Henry and all the agents in the back have decades of experience. They know what it takes to be successful in the wrestling business. Yet they don't want to listen. They don't want to improve. That's so typical
One month later and I still enjoy this way too much.
It's amazing.
SAME
lmao same hahahahaha
Bro like what is he doing?! 😆
It's up there with the Montreal Screwjob!
April 2023 and this is still my favorite AEW moment.
The fact that people bit each other in the locker room after this scrum makes it all the more hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Tony always looks like he just ate a bag of shrooms & is trying HARD to not be noticeably tripping😂
And a half an ounce of blow!! Can’t forget the blow🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha LOL 🤣 😂 😆
Looked like he showed just about every emotion to me lol
I did shrooms a few years ago at six flags and then me and my friends decided to ride some roller coasters. You know that rainbow level from Mario Kart? It was like that for me and fucking amazing lol
@@User71956 Worthless junkie.
How they didn't even try to turn this into a work is absurd
That requires mature people, who can put aside their emotions and act civil in a workplace. The Elite aren't capable of that.
Like, the Punk Omega feud build up, promos, and matches would've been amazing. Such a shame, where was Vince when you need him?
Punk tried.
Elite didn't want to.
That's the main difference between Tony and Vince. Vince treats his business like a business, whereas Tony treats his business like a backyard federation or a hobby.
...And punk is?@@walsh9080
Tell me more. Wiseman
You DO know its fake
