That Eddie segment made me tear up man. I never heard anything bad about the man. When he passed, I heard it on the radio and couldn’t stop bawling. God rest his soul.
See, the thing with Punk is universal when you hear people talk about him. He's either the best guy you can know and one of the best friends you can possibly have because you do business the right way and are straight up. Or, he's someone you just hate and that usually stems from someone trying to fuck him, or play in his face, or use him for some political purpose against someone. So whenever I hear that someone hates CM Punk, my mind immediately goes to "Well...what did you do? Because he's not the kind of guy to start shit, but he will always finish it"
CM Karen is an entitled manchild lol. He literally pitches a fit if he doesn't get his way. He had to job ONCE in AEW to Mox and cried about it in a pages-long rant on Instagram. Stop simpin for a Karen. 😂😂
Hey Stevie. I don't know how you are doing spiritually but I am glad to hear you talk about your time with Eddie. I know you had bad experiences with Shawn but I'm glad Eddie showed the light of Christ. You are a humble nice dude. I pray that you would see for yourself the Grace of God 🙏🏾
I get what they're saying about Dustin's intensity. I went to a Q&A with him once, and he was joking. Around and having a good time, but when somebody asked him about his match with Roddy Piper, he got really solemn and intense and didn't look anybody in the eye when he told this story. It got really quiet. We got the impression he was speaking from the heart
I really like Stevie Richard's and Maven's channels but I think Stevie edges it as my favourite because he doesn't put on the level of showmanship that Maven does, he's just straight with his views and details.
So is Maven? Maven openly admits he isn't what, negative people like you, he is. If you keep giving someone negative connotations because of a bias, then that's on you, not him. Maven is one of the most genuine people on the platform, regardless of sector. He's just very good at his job, he is trained to act, trained to talk, trained to interact. Of course he's going to sound on it, because he has more right to speak and say things about the business than you do of him and his career.
Well Maven has a background in teaching classes, so it makes sense that he would have a sense of order and presentation with his videos more than just chatting about something
I love how Kane and Kurt are the two most intense characters you could ever imagine, as well as two of the biggest genetic freaks in wrestling history, but everyone agrees that they’re both absolute teddy bears.
Love the way Randy Orton treats the fans. In my city Randy took an extra 20 minutes after his win to walk around and make personal contact with everyone he could. My daughter cried her eyes out with tears of joy! On the other hand aj styles seemed like he was D-Tier.
People need to separate ranking Orton from now and then just for the sole fact of how much he has changed, he went from being the annoying arrogant rookie in the locker room with a silver spoon up his but to earning every bit of it and now being a true legend, hall of famer and locker room leader. He's gonna go down as one of the goats when he hangs them up
Can i ask you in which year that was? Orton looks way more relaxed since 2016. I saw him once and he wasn't a bad dude, but not that much of a good one either. Signed some autographs on the way to and walking away from the ring. But didn't stay a minute longer than he must've. I guess 2009-2010?
@TheLibermania 2021 and again in 2023 both positive interactions. I'm not saying that for sure means he's a good guy. I'm just expressing my judge of character. Him and Sammy Zayn stick out as the two guys on the roster who really interacted with the fans well when I seen them. The only baby face that seemed like a mean guy was AJ styles. He was the champ the one year and he was a baby face and still rude to everybody.
@@RichT330 Sorry if that came out wrong. I was genuinely interested. So i don't doubt you or anything that he is chill. AJ Styles made a very weird impression on Chris Van Vliet. So i don't doubt that as well. But man that wakes memories. Smackdown in Germany, 2009. CM Punk vs Undertaker Casket Match as Main Event. Punk managed to insult everyone in the front row seats while at the same time acting like he is scared of the casket and doesn't want to get in the ring. They had to start his music three times because he was just circling the ring "in fear" while insulting everyone. And when finally the music of the Undertaker started, he slid out again and hid behind someone (Mike Chioda?) Good times. Sorry, that need to get out ;)
Interesting Stevie mentioned Eddie Guerrero after the One Night Stand match. I was there are it was very apparent even to us after that match that he was pissed off. He didn't hide it from the audience audience one bit so I can imagine backstage
It makes sense because pro wrestling is a job. Just like any workplace, there's going to be a few amazing people, a bunch of coworkers who are nice, some you never really interact with, and a couple jerks.
Nice to hear that Sheamus was good to Stevie. Sean Oliver has said that WWE wrestlers hated Sheamus, but never said so during their interview. Only afterwards, off camera.
I can sort of understand from a wrestlers point of you why Sheamus was hated as he rose to fame pretty quickly and it was obviously linked to his friendship with HHH, Sheamus deserves his flowers though.
I've met my fair share of wrestlers. The two nicest I've ever met were Roddy Piper and DDP. Mick Foley, too. Everyone I've met has been nice. No one was ever rude to me or anything.
0:43 I met Scott Hall at a club in Nashville called Denim & Diamonds back in 2002. He was there with Sean Waltman on a Wed night. Scott acted like a prick that night when I tried to talk to him. Sean was too busy trying to find a shot girl or bartender to take home…. I also met you Stevie… at the same club. You came in with Crash Holly. Both of you got on the karaoke stage and shot a promo. You guys were really nice and cool to be around, although Crash was also trying to find someone to take home
From what I gathered from so many people/wrestling fans and fellow wrestlers, John Tenta, Brian Adams and John Studd were some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
Stevie, you put yourself down way too many times. I hated your fucking guts when you were in RTC. That means you were doing something right ✅️. We love listening to you talk about the business and your honesty. Would love to meet you one day. From a mate down under, keep it up 😊
Something off with all the Undertaker praising. You hear former wrestlers saying what a great leader he was, but Stevie says that he didn't even seem approachable to him. Mark was probably a very political guy with a certain demeanor to him, and people say nice things about him due to a certain amount of peer pressure. Everyone else respects him, so you figure that you should respect him too even if you look at him differently... that's my guess.
Locker room leader doesn’t mean he’s the best friend of everybody. It means he generally kept people in check. I think Stevie was generally intimidated by him and Taker didn’t care to have a convo with Stevie.
Nobody is friends with everyone they work with. There’s people I work with that I’ve barely spoken too. So because Stevie was intimidated by him, that means it’s all bullshit?
@@dimedraweriv258 Triple H, Michaels and Cena were over too and didn't need to be political, yet they were. For instance Taker was part of the wrestler's court along with guys like JBL... That's quite political to me. Taker once dressed down Matt Hardy in front of the locker room in a very condescending way... Again political. I have this picture of other wrestlers watching how Taker is dressing down Hardy, don't like what they're seeing, but don't stand up to Taker out of fear for their job.
I felt that, when he was talking about Eddie, I lost my younger bro n I can relate to that, when you're talking about em n it just chokes u up. Stevie seems like ah really cool dude, I loved him in the BWO in ECW. It sucks how WWF would take ECWs top acts n put em in the mid card

I met Kurt Angle this past July and he was the nicest wrestler that I ever met. I've met a small number of wrestlers and Kurt was the nicest. I couldn't imagine meeting any wrestler nicer than him.
As far as rankings, I met Stevie at a convention, and I'd give him an A or even an S. The dude was so chill and friendly. Edge was also an S. He asked me how I got into being a wrestling fan, my favorite matches. He stayed past the time he was booked for to make sure every fan that wanted to see him did. Can't fault him on that.
The problem with these rankings is Stevie is too nice. Lol. That’s actually a compliment, even though it sounds backhanded. Seriously, no one would rank all these guys B or better (the C doesn’t count based on Stevie’s actual comments… Orton he really said was better than that). This is clearly more a reflection on Stevie than these wrestlers. The only way Stevie rates these guys this well is if HE is a good guy. These guys obviously respect and appreciate Stevie. This list reflects more on him than the guys he rated.
I love love love this whole series of videos! I’ve always liked your characters! But I had no idea you were so amazing!!!!!!! CM Punk is my all time favorite (it was Hogan as a kid. I was young and stupid) But I could become a Stevie Richard’s Stan fast. LMAO. No but really I’ve meet CMPunk once and I was really scared. I wasn’t on my A game. My son had passed away a few months before and I wasn’t even gonna go but it was that or cry in bed and it was a gift and I didn’t want to be rude. So I crawled out of bed and went. By myself I might add. Idk if he could sense something was wrong with me or what but he may be the nicest person I’ve ever met. And not just because he’s my favorite. It was the comic con in January before he left WWE in 2014. So I’m glad I went. We didn’t talk much but I’ve got my pic (I’d love an updated one with us old) and I listened to his stories. Which took my mind off things for a couple hrs. I know now he was really sick. So I’m even more grateful HE went. Please keep up the series I could listen forever! 💖

Nash has admitted you get Bill outside the business he's awesome. I've heard the same but in the business after he got to a certain level he could be a handful for sure.
Really good analysis and I enjoyed your input on Austin. I think you were spot on about wrestlers being protective of their spot on the card and considering how white how Stone Cold's rise to the top was I can understand him not wanting to make a misstep and tumble back down the card.

But I will say James' professionalism and Stevie's warmth and compassion and insight might make my now favorite wrestler. BTW - I'm a little slow, what does S stand for on this rating system.
I always find it funny that almost every veteran has nothing bad to say about Punk, yet all the younger indy guys don't have anything good to say about him.
Because the older guys know that they can kick his ass if he steps out of line. Besides, Punk is a bully, so he picks on younger people than people his own size and age. The UFC showed that Punk would lose a fight against someone who can match him.
@@dhenderson1810punk literally had his first fight ever in the ufc, no other guy has done that not even Brock did that. Punk used to pick on triple h and Vince all the time in 2011-2014 so he didn’t just pick on people smaller than him
As an avid UFC watcher, calling any Punk matchup in the UFC a 'fight' is pushing it. He got his ass kicked in his first fight and was toyed with so badly in his second that he got the other fighter fired. Punk's entire UFC run is usually seen as a meme by most MMA fans. @@chris7_uyahshgs981

@dww7094 the guy has been employed in the industry for decades. Probably very very wealthy by now. Doesn't need to be political to keep his spot in the locker room or on a card. He can just book nxt, coach in the performance center, and keep cashing checks. Retiring from the ring probably took alot of pressure off his back.
I’ve met a lot of wrestlers and I’d say Booker T was the coolest. Talked for awhile had laughing at my jokes. A lot are nice but still treat you like a fan.
Kane is all by accounts an awesome guy, but people hate on him and want his career blacklisted just because he has different political views to them. I don't agree with everything he says, but not going to stop liking him or being a fan over it. Like grow up.
Hogan - C , Savage - B , Slater - F , Murdoch - B , Horowitz - A , Mike Graham - C , Steve Keirn - C , Dusty Rhodes - A , Buzz Sawyer - F , Gordon Nelson - A , Luger -D , Sullivan - A , Barry Windham - B , Gordon Solie - B . We'd see some in local bars after the shows and they were more talkative after a few drinks.
Gotta love when youtube commenters think they know more about an individual than someone that has actually talked and met with them almost everyday out of the year, for nearly 20+ years
You'd think someone who is as nice as Kane and Taker wouldn't be the way they are, politically. It makes no sense to me lol. Contradicts their personal characteristics.
I've met a handful of wrestling personalities and most have been nice. Briefly met Sting during a photo-op at a convention and didn't get to talk much, but he's always seemed like a stand-up guy.
yeah jericho and kevin owens have said he was an asshole and they are 2 of the nicest guys in the biz

Was hoping for some spicier takes but Stevie is too nice to bury anyone. That's not a bad thing though.
Amen 🙏🏻✝️
Man, Eddie seems like such a wonderful dude. Just telling a dude, "I love you" when they needed to hear it. It's a damn shame he's gone.
I'd like to see The Stevie Richards Show have Jim Cornette as a special guest.
Would be good but not a chance of happening due to Stevie's friendship with Russo.
not happening Stevie is friends with s stain
Jim has already said he refuses to do any interviews on anyone else's podcast.
If they bring Jim in they should ask him detailed questions about Trump

I love how Kane and Kurt are the two most intense characters you could ever imagine, as well as two of the biggest genetic freaks in wrestling history, but everyone agrees that they’re both absolute teddy bears.
Kane is absolutely terrifying but so nice in real life, same with his brother Undertaker.
And when finally the music of the Undertaker started, he slid out again and hid behind someone (Mike Chioda?)
Good times.
Sorry, that need to get out ;)
@@Whotuber-cu1zo When Randy first got to the WWE, he was still pretty much a kid. People do grow up.
Interesting Stevie mentioned Eddie Guerrero after the One Night Stand match. I was there are it was very apparent even to us after that match that he was pissed off. He didn't hide it from the audience audience one bit so I can imagine backstage
everybody loves Eddie. I would have loved watching him and listening to him on podcasts and stuff. We love you Eddie
Eddie Guerrero sounds like a guinune guy. He was such a talent, forever missed rip the great Latino heat
The part about Eddie almost made me cry, well done Stevie for opening up, you’re a legend.
Sheamus was hated out of jealousy, not anything he did personally
I've met my fair share of wrestlers. The two nicest I've ever met were Roddy Piper and DDP. Mick Foley, too. Everyone I've met has been nice. No one was ever rude to me or anything.
I genuinely got a lump in my throat when Stevie was talking about Eddy
0:43 I met Scott Hall at a club in Nashville called Denim & Diamonds back in 2002. He was there with Sean Waltman on a Wed night. Scott acted like a prick that night when I tried to talk to him. Sean was too busy trying to find a shot girl or bartender to take home…. I also met you Stevie… at the same club. You came in with Crash Holly. Both of you got on the karaoke stage and shot a promo. You guys were really nice and cool to be around, although Crash was also trying to find someone to take home
Tbf dudes in a club, you have to understand he ain’t there to talk to male fans, don’t approach guys as a fan in that environment
Great episode! Thank you guys!! 👏😃👍🏼👍🏼
16:56 at first I was like woah dude😂😬
Ooof. I understood that reference but really wish I didn't lol.
I was about to say that the concept of chill for this Interviewer is nonexistent lmao
Geeze man, from watching this video it seems like YOU were one of the nicest wrestlers. I hope you get some recognition for that. Rock on.
Does anyone ever have anything bad to say about Eddie? Miss that dude
From what I gathered from so many people/wrestling fans and fellow wrestlers, John Tenta, Brian Adams and John Studd were some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
Really wish I had gotten a chance to meet John Tenta. My favorite monster heel of all time.
Stevie, you put yourself down way too many times. I hated your fucking guts when you were in RTC. That means you were doing something right ✅️. We love listening to you talk about the business and your honesty. Would love to meet you one day. From a mate down under, keep it up 😊

much love and respect to you 👍🏼
I think you and Maven have the best former wrestler turned podcaster channels on RUclips. Y'all do some great work.
Corny is still the king of wrestling podcasting.
Stevie has always been a good-natured dude. He signed my ECW shirt back in 1998.
Next ranking should focus on ECW guys.
Awesome idea!!
I'll show you, you'll see! Just tuning in the last week or so, thanks for years of entertainment, Brother.
Cool video. Hope there is a part 2.
I’m surprised Mick Foley, Molly Holly & Ken Shamrock weren’t on your list, especially the S list. They were known to be one of the kindest wrestlers.
Ayy we love you Stevie. Thank you my brother in Christ.
Your humble and loving attitude is so beautiful my dude.
Amen in the name of Jesus Christ my eternal God Lord and Savior
I've been lucky enough to meet most of my all time favorite wrestlers. Some of the nicest are Rhea, Miz, Foley, Cena, Kane, Nattie, Becky, Show, & DDP
Man, a powerful ending. Stevie, you're da man!
Taker didn't need to be political he was so over. Not for himself anyway. For his buddies it's possible.
@@Provos7777 are you comparing your regular job to WWE? Lol
No Wrestling loss hurt me more than Eddie's...and everytime someone talks about his spirit as a human i fkn cry like the day i did when i found out he had passed... RIP Eddie.

Remember the (c)rock and oprah askin for money for Maui?
Stevie, your on again off again matches with punk on wwecw were awesome. The one where you almost made him tap with the stretch was an "oh shit!" Moment for me and my buddies at the time
Supposedly Goldberg is a great guy despite being possibly the most careless and dangerous wrestler ever.
Nash has admitted you get Bill outside the business he's awesome.
I've heard the same but in the business after he got to a certain level he could be a handful for sure.
@@donovanbradford8231he seemed like he was paranoid when working. Nash probably called him a sweetheart and said he never had a problem with him.

I’ll never forget his push when Heat first started as a show. That “Stevie Night Heat” gimmick still sticks with me 20 years later.
Everyone misses Eddie too man
Really good analysis and I enjoyed your input on Austin. I think you were spot on about wrestlers being protective of their spot on the card and considering how white how Stone Cold's rise to the top was I can understand him not wanting to make a misstep and tumble back down the card.
Probably the nicest wrestler I ever met was Chris kanyon, dude took the time and shook hands with everyone and was humble with fans.
After Cornette, the combo of Stevie and James make this my favorites Podcast (2 overall) - Of course I'm a big fan of James overall and whatever WSI does. But I will say James' professionalism and Stevie's warmth and compassion and insight might make my now favorite wrestler.
BTW - I'm a little slow, what does S stand for on this rating system.
not sure what exactly it stands for, but it represents the highest grade, even above an A+.
Stevie Richards seems just like a cool dude
Stevie was great in his role. Loved to hate him/laugh at him. I liked the insight here and i’ll have to check out more vids!
The irony is, Stevie is too nice to make this as compelling as it could’ve been.
I always find it funny that almost every veteran has nothing bad to say about Punk, yet all the younger indy guys don't have anything good to say about him.
Rene Depre and Paul London seem to hate the shit out of him
Because the older guys know that they can kick his ass if he steps out of line.
Besides, Punk is a bully, so he picks on younger people than people his own size and age.
The UFC showed that Punk would lose a fight against someone who can match him.
You're retard*d
@@dhenderson1810punk literally had his first fight ever in the ufc, no other guy has done that not even Brock did that. Punk used to pick on triple h and Vince all the time in 2011-2014 so he didn’t just pick on people smaller than him
As an avid UFC watcher, calling any Punk matchup in the UFC a 'fight' is pushing it. He got his ass kicked in his first fight and was toyed with so badly in his second that he got the other fighter fired. Punk's entire UFC run is usually seen as a meme by most MMA fans.

Yeah I think we can pretty safely say Michaels was bad dude, it seems like he's turned it around quite significantly especially in recent years so props to him
@dww7094 the guy has been employed in the industry for decades. Probably very very wealthy by now. Doesn't need to be political to keep his spot in the locker room or on a card. He can just book nxt, coach in the performance center, and keep cashing checks. Retiring from the ring probably took alot of pressure off his back.

There were others we met in the Florida territory who wrestled at the Sportatorium in Tampa. We'd go watch the tapings of the in house shows for Channel 44. Some of these wrestlers worked out a World's Gym in Seminole but we were advised not to bother them while they worked out. Some chatted with us after they finished their workouts.
Love this segment. TBH It won't affect my respect for certain performers, but its good to know who were assholes and who were nice.
I've met a handful of wrestling personalities and most have been nice. Briefly met Sting during a photo-op at a convention and didn't get to talk much, but he's always seemed like a stand-up guy. Lex Luger was incredibly friendly and talkative, which seems like a big contrast to how he was many years ago. Eric Bischoff and Scott Steiner were reasonably friendly but didn't seem too interested in talking much. Of course, I think I would be disappointed if I found out that Steiner was actually a really nice guy in real life. 😂😂
Scott Steiner was very gracious when I met him at his Shoney's north of Atlanta.
