They got the crowd cheering for Eddie at one point sheesh that's amazing This is a proper feud for Punk Reminds me of Punk's rivalry with Cena, especially on that one segment where Punk told Cena that he hold grudges because Cena told him "Congratulations, kid. I almost gave up on you."
When a promo makes me doubt wether it is real or not - as someone who has been watching wrestling for 15 years - absolutely pulls me in and gives me that excitement only pro wrestling can. Fantastic promo.
this is why Eddie is so good on the mic. He's said this many times before: anything Eddie says about himself is a shoot, anything Eddie says about the other person is a work. I don't know, seems scripted. Seems like they were both holding back to not mess eacher other up too much, especially Punk. Punk over reacted to that last line instead of giving a legit reaction. But as much as I hate to admit it, Punk is looking a little old. Like the stress through his years is aging him rapidly and he's losing his agility.
It was real. Waaaay back in the day Eddie I believe made a small mistake in a match and it hurt someone. When he came back to the locker room, Punk went off on him and was talking shit about his weight and work ethic and all sorts of shit. He basically went completely apeshit on Eddie and buried him back stage. He referenced it in this promo but did so in a way that didn't break kayfabe and it's amazing. This is probably the only time I've ever seen someone shit this hard on Punk in a promo.
Nah man. The Bum line. He coulda called him a bitch. But Bum. To a dude with a history of addiction and depression and near homelessness. That shit hit home
The only miss to me, was after the elevation or dark line Eddie should've said "aww cmon Punk, you know Dark is below you" because it kinda brings together the whole point Eddie is getting to, that Punk has too big an ego. Because to be honest , if you look at the people that have worked dark or elevation, it shouldnt be a burn. Mox has worked Elevation, Britt has worked Elevation, FTR has worked Dark , etc. Hell, Punk was *technically* on an episode of Dark.
You gotta love how Eddie Kingston can make an abrupt feud mean something just like that. And Punk absolutely kept up with Eddie's chaotic, personal, and tempermental way of building up a beef with someone. The whole thing manages to touch on Eddie's inner conflicts and sources of frustration without having to explain it, just from these two throwing barbs at each other. Absolutely brilliant.

I don't like punk, so Eddie calling him a narcissist really hit home with me. He works my last nerve and I think Eddie will be who dethrones Punk. Well that was my thought before Punk got hurt. He's going to lose so much heat that he might have to start his heel turn all over again.
Yeah it feels real because the guys bitching about things that hurt his little feelings
Him overreacting and cutting off Eddie before Eddie finished made it feel that much realer, though.
That "Elevation or Dark" line from Punk was f'n savage
trash dude that line was trash
Nah man. The Bum line. He coulda called him a bitch. But Bum. To a dude with a history of addiction and depression and near homelessness. That shit hit home
Both the bum line and the dark line was savage

Eddie rose to the occasion and punk showed he still is the master of psychology
Punk made it make sense and paced it well. It'd be one guy just screaming stuff only hardcore fans would understand otherwise.

I love how everyone is in agreement that this promo is one of the greatest we’ve ever seen. This is what makes people say “It’s real to me, damn it!”
That's a really good point. The promo blurred the lines between a work and a shoot, very much like something out of the Attitude Era.
It's only the aew marks
No one else even knew this was happening

On TV in Ring: Punk and Eddie fight.
Backstage: Punk and Eddie hi-five and hug knowing they started an angle that will top other angles in wrestling today. Not only that, Punk and Eddie now have a "true opponent" when it comes to promos. They are going to make gold for pro wrestling as well as AEW.
Oh hell yeah i bet!
It's fake, these bitches would get destroyed by guys like Colby and Usman.

@@ihatefakefighting6698 lol ur like a kid who just got to know that wrestling is scripted,(chill dude we all know that from years, but still enjoys them just like the scripted movies)
I'm glad we finally got to this.. Kingston is the perfect guy to go toe to toe on the mic while putting up a great series of matches with him that won't get boring.. These two being able to work on the fly will make this one of the better mini feuds of the year
*Its amazing! He proved himself right twice over!!*
🙃
Eddie Kingston definitely one of the best on the mic. Can’t wait for Kevin Steen to return
Kingston vs Steen 2022
Hoo boy
@@fo3nixz877 i want this so bad
The guys in the truck did a great job of covering the fight at the end, especially the visuals. That last scene of a wild eyed Punk & Kingston with his tongue hanging out is gold!
Reminds me of when wrestling shows would end on a cliff hanger back when professional wrestling was first killing it... Now its killing it again!!
Man do I love Eddie Kingston. He definitely sold this fight. His skills on the mic are top notch. What made this even better was that he got the crowd cheering for him and got them divided on who to side with. Lowkey will be cheering for him at Full Gear.
Eddie brings that realness, such raw passion.
Eddie Kingston and MJF, those two can say anything and I’ll buy it 100%… it sucks how much of Eddie I could of seen but didn’t cause he wasn’t on that other place, but if he had been probably would of been misused and ruined so in the end, this was the best for him. Love his passion, I truly hope he’s finally where he deserves to be!
Everyone: "We want a proper feud for CM Punk!"
Tony Khan: "Your wish is my command"

@Mr Happy Folger do you go on videos just to troll bro? Do you hate going outside? 😭
@@philliparthur8672 two guys from fake fighting. They also get paid for scripted fights.
Haven’t been a true wrestling fan in a looong time and I’ve never been a fan of promo segments(even though I know they’re to progress storylines), but that was fantastic…and so is AEW. Shit feels so natural and not the same ol scripted bullshit that’s been on wrestling shows the past xxxx years. Good stuff.
I'm beginning to wonder how much of Eddie's promo was a shoot. I'm feeling a lot of it.
