We were so spoilt of how amazing this era was. I still watch NXT and enjoy it but this was just our go to place when RAW and Smackdown was just horrific and painful to watch
This video truly brought a tear to my eye. Black and Gold was special. But a lot of what made Black and Gold magical is being translated into today's product, so while it hurts that we no longer have that era of NXT, its essence runs deep within the veins of today's WWE, and I'm loving being a fan today. One memory I'll always cherish was being at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia. What a show!!!
For obvious reasons, 2020 and 2021 were rough years for the brand, but I would've liked for them to at least try one or two TakeOvers in the thunder dome. It would've been a refreshing visual, which could've helped the brand feel alive again, but I digress. Hopefully we get TakeOvers again in 2023.

Wow! Thanks for making this. Ive heard of NXT but I no idea how big they were in the late 2010's with all those Takeovers. I only started watching in 2019 and had no idea about all the great history. Thank you once again!
I think the best part of the Gargano/Ciampa story is that early part where they are pitted against each other in the Cruiserweight Classic. The end of that match was a great moment and the one I thought about when Ciampa turned on Johnny.
I love NXT. I miss those old days. The 2.0 was terrible. The gold and white brand today is ok. It's just find but it'd nothing like we got back in like 2017 or 2019 etc. I miss Takeovers, I miss those stars and NXT just isn't the same. It truly was an answer to main roster wrestling. I hope one day we can get that kind of nastolga back
It's a shame that wwe buried most the roster from nxt's early years like bo dallas, the ascension, and neville went being champions in nxt to jobbers on the main roster in only a year or two. Also tyler breeze deserved better, he went from wrestling jushin thunder liger to jobbing to dolph ziggler in only 3 months.
Ahh the good old day's man I miss this era of nxt the superstars, the arenas, the matches, the titles, everything was so good it was so good that it was even in one of the survivor series PVP's even tho nxt 2.0 is no more and they went back to the black and gold brand or should I say black, white and orange this will never be topped

I went from not knowing what NXT was around Wrestlemania 33… slowly but surely I would see wrestling highlights and became intrigued with this company with a black mat and gold ropes… took me some time to find the logo on the turnbuckle… after that the rest was history… NXT became my favorite wrestling show to watch every Wednesday then every Tuesday and once 2.0 came it was never the same. So much Lightning was caught into a bottle. From Undisputed Era, to Bobby Roode, to WarGames, just so much greatness for something that was treated as a developmental brand.
I definitely think Finn Balor was the biggest signing and star of NXT from what he actually done on the brand and then main roster. Not perfect at all but overall as a fan favorite he definitely shined both on NXT and main roster the most. Other stars like the shield of course did better on main roster but didn’t have the impact on NXT like Finn Balor.
Seeing this brings up so many great memories. Beeing the only guy at school who watches wrestling and always looking forward to the nxt takeovers even weeks/months in advance, beeing completely invested in what they showed every wednesday. Truly the greatest time of my childhood. R.I.P. Black and Gold and thank you Tripple H.
NXT made me love wrestling again and introduced me to lots of talent i never heard of before and got me interested in the indie circuit. I will always regret not watching the program the first couple years or not subscribe to the network to watch
great video!! I used to love watching NXT from late 2015 to early 2017, that's when I got out of wrestling for a year and came back in 2018 but didn't watch NXT again. not gonna lie it was because of how smackdown was in 2017, it turned me off to wwe so much that I didn't even wanna see what was going on with them. 2018 was also a great year for NXT but I wasn't following it how I did in 2016 or how I do now with aew and sometimes wwe. All in All NXT black and gold was amazing, some of the best wrestlers came out of it, great matches and at least one of them is somewhere on my top 10-15 and was just a great Wrestling Show with stories tied into the wrestling and not by just words. NXT 2.0 is honestly unwatchable and feels cringe to see like there just doing something because 'it seems cool and hip" that sounds like a Vince thing to say. It not a wrestling show its a drama/something straight out of Nick At Nite with wrestling in it. Now to be fare I don't really watch full episode but I did when it was coming up to WrestleMania and dolph was about to get the title and had the title so I stayed tuned in week to week but now I try to watch it and watch clips of it but I really just can with NXT 2.0 Shawn Michaels & Triple H need to fix it but who knows everyone has there own opinion and people may like it how it is. I don't keep up with people opinions too much so I'm not sure but if people love it then keep it that way, I'll just watch another wrestling program and let those people enjoy that type of wrestling without be mad about it or trying to ruin it for that audience. BTW I was mainly typing just a small thing bc you wanted/need engagement for the vid to do good but it turned into one of my college essays lol.
Im happy with how NXT has been going recently getting better and better A lot of Talent from there are debuting on the main roster itself before going back to NXT to continue their work before officially moving HELL just this year we had a couple from NXT show up in the Rumble Shawn has been cooking good with the booking really
got in to nxt right when Ciampa turned on Johnny my roommate at the time got me in to it and it revitalized my love for wrestling nothing compares to it. even when you could read the spoilers online it was still a must to tune in sadly i faded back out of wrestling after nxt 2.0 and even though I heard it's doing well now I just cannot get in to it anymore
Never forget the “triple threat” chant when Ciampa, Velveteen Dream and Nikki Cross were in the ring together and it felt like it could’ve actually happened.
My favorite era in wrestling. 2015-2019 NXT along with the rise in NJPW and creation of AEW from 2017-2019 made for such a special time in terms of match quality, storytelling, and crossover feeling prior to the pandemic.
I know how popular 2018 & 2019 NXT is amongst everyone, but personally to me, NXT has not been quite the same since the Sami/Bayley era. That place felt like genuine magic when they were around, it's not quite felt the same since then.
If you need proof oh how bad the main WWE show was doing, vs how good NXT was crushing it just look at Meltzer’s match ratings from 2012-2019. Raw and Smackdown had no 5 star matches in that time, while NXT had six or so 5 star matches.
2016 and 2017 were the best years with Asuka,Ciampa,Strong before the UE and Glorious Bobby roode, tag team wrestling was still nice and dream wasn't on his jeffrey dahmer shit
So many incredible memories that its easy to forget or overlook a lot of them, its crazy the amount of greatness in a such a short period of time. Never thought one day I would be proudly saying that I was able to experience prime NXT. I wish we all knew back then that history was being made in front of our eyes with black and gold NXT.

Greatest match in nxt in my opinion ilja dragunov and Walter 💥
I loved the original nxt it was a comedy mixed with little bit of wrestling
Hoky shit bro I'm so happy this video got back. W for you and us!!
Yes I thought this vid got took down I was hyped for it 🔥
hope you enjoyed it ! :)
@@SuperkickStudios great video man hopefully NXT can bounce back the only guy I like on the new brand is Carmelo Hayes 😂
Bro you are a menace with that Draymond Line xD 😂
The Attitude Era of NXT
The Best Way I Describe of NXT Black & Gold is The WWE's Golden Era From 1984-1992 & NXT 2.0 was much more WWE's New Generation Era from 1992-1997.
1992-1997 was better than 1984-1992
@@madhavsinghff4279 no way you thought the years of 94, 95, and 96 were better lol
NXT Black & Gold was better than RAW & SD
Im happy with how NXT has been going recently getting better and better
A lot of Talent from there are debuting on the main roster itself before going back to NXT to continue their work before officially moving
HELL just this year we had a couple from NXT show up in the Rumble
Shawn has been cooking good with the booking really
got in to nxt right when Ciampa turned on Johnny
my roommate at the time got me in to it and it revitalized my love for wrestling
nothing compares to it. even when you could read the spoilers online it was still a must to tune in
sadly i faded back out of wrestling after nxt 2.0 and even though I heard it's doing well now I just cannot get in to it anymore
Never forget the “triple threat” chant when Ciampa, Velveteen Dream and Nikki Cross were in the ring together and it felt like it could’ve actually happened.
NXT Black and Gold was home to the greatest sports entertainers in the world.
My favorite era in wrestling. 2015-2019 NXT along with the rise in NJPW and creation of AEW from 2017-2019 made for such a special time in terms of match quality, storytelling, and crossover feeling prior to the pandemic.
I have been waiting for this video OMG
I'm happy we stepped out of the 2.0 era and into the White & Gold era.
shout out to ciampa not making the thumbnail.
Probably my favorite wrestling ever
My most memorable wrestling moment of all time was ciampa turning on gargano. Was such a special time
I know how popular 2018 & 2019 NXT is amongst everyone, but personally to me, NXT has not been quite the same since the Sami/Bayley era. That place felt like genuine magic when they were around, it's not quite felt the same since then.
2019 it fell off a bit that's only because AEW was the shiney new thing.
Nxt parking lot has been long term storytelling
lmao so true

I love it cause NXT got me back into wrestler. I stoped watching around 2009/2010 and only came back around 2016/2017 NXT was a great starting point
Same, my first NXT experience was Takeover Philadelphia.
Yes....! this video is back
Best think in nxt according to me is undisputed era
If you need proof oh how bad the main WWE show was doing, vs how good NXT was crushing it just look at Meltzer’s match ratings from 2012-2019. Raw and Smackdown had no 5 star matches in that time, while NXT had six or so 5 star matches.
cant believe anything meltzer says. He never gave Kurt a five star match mas crazy
I was at nxt Portland too! Dope show!!!!
The Black & Gold brand was the best thing about WWE at it's peak. For me 2016-2019 was the peak of NXT Black & Gold.
Better than smackdown 2016?
