Roman Reigns vs Edge vs Daniel Bryan gotta be the best match for me. Just excellent. Hard-hitting, dynamic, exciting, genuinely unpredictable finish between Edge and Roman.
Raw was the bad part for the most part, but the golden role models were good, when Roman Reigns returned he turned smackdown around and it was good on a weekly basis, PPVs for the most part were good, some very good matches, good moments like Edge winning the rumble, Hurt Business formed, Randy had a good 2020, cinematic matches were cool. No one will forget this time in wrestling
We gotta give it up for WWE. They put their health at risk for our entertainment. Whether the product was good or bad, they deserve nothing but respect 💯
Smackdown was definitely the show. The first show Of smackdown when the pandemic hit was perfect. (For some reason I liked Michael cole and hhh as a commentary team) And let’s not forget that Roman reigns is carrying smackdown on his back. Yeah Raw had some good shows but smackdown had better.
Smackdown easily overshadowed Raw. To be honest, Raw’s creative team put their talents in a predicament when they never took any chances to improve the quality of the product.
@@kazallroberts plus Paul Heyman was booking the show and you had wrestlers like Andrade, Apollo, the hurt business and Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy used properly on Raw however once Summerslam came SD became the A show
WWE became open minded in the creative aspect. The cinematic matches was one the highlight during the The Pandemic Era. If I had to choose a favorite idea, it’d be the MITB location at Titan Towers (WWE’s office building). It was very entertaining and you could tell they worked hard on every bit that went on that night.
That was something I liked. Instead of making a play in front of an actual crowd, they had to get creative with all this cinematic movie like approach and sell it to only the TV and Streaming audiences.
One thing about this era that stuck with me was the effect of having no crowds when promos and segments were made...it actually felt more like a drama series..you can sense whatever raw sourced emotion that was conveyed by the wrestlers...like the segments of Drew with Heath Slater which is a clear example of that.
It definitely changed the whole vibe and game of wrestling when they no longer had a crowd that would erupt into whatever emotion they wanted to. It gave flexibility to the performers who didn't need worry about cheers, boos, chants of phrases etc. While having crowds is always better for a sport like wrestling. I can't deny that the pandemic allowed for this new breath of fresh air.
70% Good, 30% Garbage Props to WWE they still pulled out some great shit during this time even without live crowd, bad things were expected without audience let's be honest, but I witnessed the goods mostly, the goods overshadowed the bad
The era was good. Drew carried WWE in the whole of 2020, plus to Randy Orton, The Fiend, Roman Reigns and so on. This era will be respected. Thank you WWE for giving us entertainment in this era.

I disagree Drew McIntyre was the top guy during the PC era he carried that era, While Roman Reigns returned during the thunderdome so it was more easy for him, While Drew has great matches and feuds during the pc era he did very good, like Imagine Roman debuting his new entrance in an empty arena with out the fake fans saying Roman Sucks
The thunderdome/PC era was kind of a free practice for the whole roster. Everybody got a character and had the chance to just try and fail at stuff before going in front of live crowds. Now we know who is really good and who is not.

I cant disrespect this Era. Good or bad, they did their best to entertain man, eish. I respect them deeply because it was not their fault. The pandemic sucked. But Drew, Randy, Roman, Kevin Owens, Bianca, Bayley, Sasha, The Usos and Edge were the highlights for me. They ruled this era. They nailed it. So to WWE, thank you for entertaining us through a hard period of our lives.
SmackDown finally became good again, and AJ Styles carried RAW as much as he could. People are sleeping on AJ Styles. They focus on Roman, Seth, and Drew, but never give AJ Styles the respect he deserves. Still great on the mic, and still a great performer. Pandemic Era SmackDown reminded me of 2016-2018 SmackDown Live.
The Pandemic Era definitely had its ups and downs but we can't ignore the ups…Roman Reigns' best run since his days in The Shield, Edge/Roman/Daniel & Bianca/Sasha at WM 37, the cinematic matches from WM 36 (Undertaker/AJ & John/The Fiend) and so much more. We all should appreciate WWE for still doing their best to entertain us during a time of uncertainty.
Pandemic was the hardest part of our life, but WWE gave us pure entertainment. The best part was Roman becoming the Tribal Chief. How long have we waited for him to change his character but all we got was his true self. He even carried SD every week all through the thunderdome era and even now. So acknowledge the Tribal chief.
I honestly think WWE chooses the wrong Champions Bobby is not a champion he can’t win himself and that is something a champion does 24/7 just face it without Mvp Bobby would lose the championship let’s face it he can’t win as the champion Mvp is the person who helps him win
WWE Pandemic Era was good. March 2020 - July 2021 was good and I liked this era of WWE. It wasn’t the greatest. It had good moments, matches, and storylines. The Thunderdome was a good idea. Roman Reigns was awesome. Roman took time off for 6 months in 2020 returned at SummerSlam and finally turned Heel. Roman Reigns made The Universal Champion important. Roman made Jey Uso a breakout star! Roman Reigns would have not turned Heel if the Pandemic never happened. Apollo Crews finally had a character. Apollo Crews won the IC Champion! The Hurt Business was awesome and Bobby Lashley became a superstar! Bobby Lashley finally won the WWE Champion! Drew McIntyre was awesome as a Face. Drew McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar. Drew McIntyre finally won the WWE Champion! We haven’t seen Brock since WrestleMania 36. Brock Lesnar is returning after Money In The Bank. Drew McIntyre had great storylines with Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, and Sheamus. Drew McIntyre is The Face Of WWE! Edge returned at Royal Rumble 2020 the best return of all time. Randy Orton vs Edge rivalry was awesome. Edge still puts on great matches. Randy Orton became the legend killer 2.0 and had an awesome character. Randy Orton is The OG Of WWE! AJ Styles vs The Undertaker was amazing. The Money In The Bank ladder matches was entertaining. John Cena vs The Fiend is still the greatest wrestling storytelling match I have ever seen. We haven’t seen John since WrestleMania 36. John Cena will finally return after a 16 month hiatus. Bayley and Sasha Banks were entertaining and had an awesome match at Hell In The Cell 2020. Sasha Banks finally had a long Women’s Champion title reign. Bianca Belair vs Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 37 Night 1 was awesome; well deserved to main event WrestleMania 37 Night 1. Asuka had a great 2020. Asuka had good to great matches on a regular basis. Seth Rollins was a great Heel. WrestleMania 37 was great. Let’s forget about the bad during the Pandemic Era. I appreciate the Pandemic Era. The Pandemic Era is something I will never forget. WWE on July 16th will have a new era with Live Crowds returning full time and WWE will be great. Only a few more days until July 16th. I can’t wait. A new era begins this Friday.
it sure was weird, but we've learned something from this pandemic era is that...without a crowd wrestling sucks (same goes to sports). but hey atleast the crowd is coming back, and I'm hype for mitb!
I’m curious to know how many wrestlers that were pushed, jobbed, or had a character change strictly to almost strictly because of covid. What I mean by this is if covid didn’t exist, what things would wwe not have done without the live crowds.
I’ll remember this era for all the different character changes for people such as Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Bobby Lashley and especially ROMAN REIGNS! This shows that WWE can still create interesting characters.
Taker vs Aj Styles and Cena vs Wyatt were matches that truly benefited from the pandemic era. Everything else was either eerie or gives a ton of people bad ptsd from march-August 2020
If you truly believe this is the first time Sami Zayn’s ever had a character in his whole career, then that’s on you for never bothering to check out ROH and PWG when El Generico was the best wrestler in the world telling some of the greatest babyface stories ever. Even if we're just limiting it to WWE that's a pretty egregious statement given the entirety of his NXT run and some good feuds with Strowman, Styles, and the continuation of the whole Steenerico feud.
AJ Styles did pretty good. Became a Grand Slam champion. AN Styles is what made me watch RAW. Without him, I wouldnt have watched anything to do with RAW.
Street profits were great in 2020 in 2021 they weren’t booked properly but overall they were entertaining I think they are very close to Sheamus in being underrated during this era however Sheamus was relevant from start to finish
I thought smackdown throughout this Era was amazing. They made the Intercontinental Title prestigious again. Roman was killing it. The smackdown tag Title division was going off.
Man poor Cesaro not a single mention of him, neither his amazing matches with Bryan and Reings, sad. For me there is more bad in this era than good, Raw sucks, the firing, Alexa and the fiend ruined, the break of the Hurt Business, Braun tittle run, Retribution the saga, Raw underground, jesus so much bad.....only a few good things came from this. Roman Reigns The Tribal Chief, the Hurt Business, Bobby Lashey WWE champ, MVP, Sami Zayn, Edge and Orton feud, Cesaro revival, Jey Uso superstar, and Bayley (I think SHE was the MVP no Sasha), everything else was mediocre at best....god awful at worst.
About a month and a half since the post of this video and i'm already missing the pandemic era, missing the character work and lack of harm coming from crowd attendance when it comes to their disruptions.
Sry man but your wrong AUSKA sucks she terrible not entertaining Acts silly and is just acts like Shinksue Nakamura by being bad at English She shall no gimmick and isn't that good at wrestling And yes I saw her in NXT she isn't special and is extremely overrated
One thing I appreciate from WWE is that practically is the only live source of entertainment that time had, because every single sport was suspended at the time.
I think we should give a lot of credit to Miz and Morrison. They were really entertaining and fun to watch. I especially loved the Miz winning the WWE title at elimination chamber. He really deserved it.
I really feel like edge isn't gonna be as part time as we think. Unless he takes a big spill again, it looks like we've got edge for a long while, which is amazing for the newer talent. Edge has so much to bring to the table, with lessons as well as talent, we could get some better opportunities hopefully
I think WWE was great during the pandemic. They had to heavily rely on promos during that time and we got some bangers out of it. The first one that comes to mind was Seth Rollins “Monday Night Messiah” promo with Kevn Owens before Wrestlemania. His story of how he built the foundation for the future of WWE/ NXT and that at Wrestlemania he becomes a god. That promo is so amazing imo I rewatch it from time to time
Drew was enjoyable but now we want something new like make riddle win mitb and build up his character . Or someone else and build up. Also the best rivalry I watched this pandemic era was roman Bryan edge match for wrestlemania 37.
The actual wrestling was amazing, so many great matches happened during this era. But the way a lot of the story’s were written, and raw becoming unwatchable, and the annoying banging on the glass and many other reasons is why I’ll never miss it lol. This past smackdown was far and away the best show in a long time thanks to having a real crowd
My only positive for the pandemic era was the cinematic matches especially the boneyard and firefly funhouse match. Really hope wwe continues to have the cinematic matches after they can get the fans back in.
Let's be honest, Only Roman Reigns and Sasha Banks are the one who carry this era. Roman and Sasha really shines every week. They make Smackdown the Best Wrestling show today.
A great time and of course wrestling fans didn't enjoy it because they were in this stupid social media war between WWE fanboys and AEW fanboys. For me... it was the time when I became oficially a full time wrestling fan, with AEW, NJPW, WWE, Impact and a large list of etc it was just awesome to become a fan.
I’ve been sitting here, watching the feud between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, and I still can’t figure how who the hell the baby face is supposed to be.
Alexa Bliss had her best character I love her 10 years old voice thanks to pandemic she was misused could have been the Raw Women Champ i disagree with her be included bad moments she was best moments
Love it or Hate it can we just appreciate all those men and women who risked their lives for the entertainment of us ungrateful fans despite the fact that they had families and loved ones
Best match gotta be Roman vs Jey I’m hell in a cell or Roman vs Drew, the hell in a cell had such a great story, and Roman and Drew put on a fucking classic

@@LND209 True Styles was good but Reigns was the star of the pandemic era
A very underrated channel
Was waiting for this, I think it was gr8, brought us some great memories and kept us entertained through these harsh times
Street profits were great in 2020 in 2021 they weren’t booked properly but overall they were entertaining I think they are very close to Sheamus in being underrated during this era however Sheamus was relevant from start to finish
This was a fantastic retrospective. Hats off to you my friend 👏
Roman, Drew, Randy, Lashley & Edge were the highlights for me, during this era.
Rip wwe pandemic era 2020-2021
I thought smackdown throughout this Era was amazing. They made the Intercontinental Title prestigious again. Roman was killing it. The smackdown tag Title division was going off.
best male competitor has to be drew. he carried it while roman was out. when roman came back it was all him. he was the top guy.
Roman was the MVP of this era. No doubt
Dude what about NXT? it was good.
With almost nothing to do during lockdown and isolation I got back in to WWE and am still watching past the pandemic era.
The best match was of course Walter vs ilija. It was the only 5 star match in the pandemic and the last 5 star match in wwe.
2020
Raw ok
Smackdown pretty good
2021
Raw boring & garbage
Smackdown good
Goodbye Pandemic Era you won't be miss
About a month and a half since the post of this video and i'm already missing the pandemic era, missing the character work and lack of harm coming from crowd attendance when it comes to their disruptions.
You literally got emotional man leaving thunderdome era it will some the best memories
Sry man but your wrong
AUSKA sucks she terrible not entertaining
Acts silly and is just acts like Shinksue Nakamura by being bad at English
She shall no gimmick and isn't that good at wrestling
And yes I saw her in NXT she isn't special and is extremely overrated
One thing I appreciate from WWE is that practically is the only live source of entertainment that time had, because every single sport was suspended at the time.
Randy the GOAT of that era.
Bayley Has A Amazing Laugh It’s Absolutely Funny To Have Bayley Laughing Out Loud Because She Is Beautiful
People don't realize they did the best they could in that situation and we're lucky we got it
It's the introduction for me EDGE:SPEAR,SPEAR,SPEAR,SPEAR,SPEAR, SPEAR
We're gonna look back on this era
The actual wrestling was amazing, so many great matches happened during this era. But the way a lot of the story’s were written, and raw becoming unwatchable, and the annoying banging on the glass and many other reasons is why I’ll never miss it lol. This past smackdown was far and away the best show in a long time thanks to having a real crowd
I think the performance center part was kinda good.
Here after watching the Bray Wyatt documentary, it’s crazy that Cena & Bray put that match together with just 48 hours notice
My only positive for the pandemic era was the cinematic matches especially the boneyard and firefly funhouse match. Really hope wwe continues to have the cinematic matches after they can get the fans back in.
Bring back bray Wyatt
Let's be honest, Only Roman Reigns and Sasha Banks are the one who carry this era.
Roman and Sasha really shines every week. They make Smackdown the Best Wrestling show today.
A great time and of course wrestling fans didn't enjoy it because they were in this stupid social media war between WWE fanboys and AEW fanboys. For me... it was the time when I became oficially a full time wrestling fan, with AEW, NJPW, WWE, Impact and a large list of etc it was just awesome to become a fan.
Best line said was
AJ Styles: you made me break my finger.
I’ve been sitting here, watching the feud between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, and I still can’t figure how who the hell the baby face is supposed to be.
I bet people will miss this era after a few years
Drew Carry Thunderdome era in His Both Shoulders 🙏🏻
It was good for what it was but I didn’t like how the shows weren’t live most of the time
Alexa Bliss had her best character I love her 10 years old voice thanks to pandemic she was misused could have been the Raw Women Champ i disagree with her be included bad moments she was best moments
Roman reigns carried the wwe on his back the whole pandemic era without him smackdown would fall to record low viewership like raw
also drew carried
@@noxin597 raw yeah
Man smack down was at its peak
In my opinion
No one is gonna talk about raw
Not peak but great compare to raw
@@scodoo4719
It was as good as smackdown 2016 tbh
@@vandauge2511 noo only good thing was roman.2016 had so many new stars and interesting stuff compare to 2020
@@scodoo4719
Ohh my guy
Forgot Sasha Banks, jey uso, edge, Kevin Owens, sami zayn, apollo crew, big e
You forgot these mates
@@vandauge2511 But let's be honest before the draft, Smackdown! was pretty bad in 2020.
For the most of it I stopped watching. I missed WWE most of 2020
In ring Wrestling was brilliant in WWE during this time
