Turning Roman's Reigns heel definitely helped him get the loud pop that WWE & he himself aim for. His heel run already made him so likeable cause of his natural charisma & exceptional reign his run gave us. 10 years ago he would get boo'ed each week but now he got the loudest pop of his career and one of the reason was the decision of turning him heel. Hence, The term "Beloved Villian".
His star power is insane especially with the amount of money he made WWE within 2h of his return. I liked Roman’s heel run and I’m looking forward to seeing how they do his face run. He’s definitely going to boost Smackdown.
I was there at SummerSlam this year, it was my first PPV and I loved it! It was a massive pain in the ass to get there though and get out. Cleveland is a pain to navigate.
Tell me about it. The traffic leaving the stadium was horrendous. I also witnessed a fan have a medical emergency while we were leaving and they were calling medics over to help him out. Hope that person needed up being ok.
To me this was the best Summerslam since 02. What made it even better was the fact that it was the first live PPV me and my GF (who isn’t even a wrestling fan but she likes Roman Reigns for some reason lol) attended and let me tell you, WE HAD A BLAST. We drove 12 hrs all the way from Alabama (because I like the scenic route) just to see it and to be real it was worth the drive. This won’t be the last PPV I attend, we’re already planning on attending Wrestlemania next year. My WWE fandom just increased 10x over thanks to this event and I’ll never forget it. Thanks Triple H 🙏🏽
SummerSlam 2024 is definitely the greatest SummerSlam of all time, Literally everything was booked perfectly. What a fantastic show
The fact that almost every damn match was a title match made me feel like this was Night of Champions in a way and all of them were absolutely amazing matches
Dom convincing me he turned heel despite me knowing hes already a heel is just incredible work. Especially because we saw it coming. But sometimes storytelling is easy, the obvious choice is often the obvious one because it can bring such incredible satisfaction.
Summer Slam Cleveland truly delivered! RAW after Summer Slam Cleveland was a wild ride! Rhea & Damian got betrayed, Drew got his revenge for now, Gunther, Breakker, Nia, and Knight are new champions, and the ORIGINAL Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is back in WWE! 5 Star PPV man!
when rhea got betrayed through out the whole night (im in england) through out the whole match i kept thinking about it and felt bummed we all knew it was happening but yeah when it happened it hit hard same with the next few days anyway new sub great video
Story for IC title should've been about how Sami can't keep up with new guys. Especially his trauma of losing to Reigns in his hometown. Yes, he got Tag run with KO but giving back his confidence but that trauma is still there. Now that he finally could fix that...here comes a young guy from NXT, same place where Sami started out in WWE. How Bron's need to win IC title is similar Sami taking Cena's US challenge. Eventually leading to Sami and Bron become friends. Just imagine a locker room scene with Bron and Sami after the match like they do in movies.
The World Heavyweight Championship Match was honestly a little underwhelming for me with what I expected. No doubt still a very good match in the end like most Gunther matches but more than that, I was impressed by Damian Priest's aggression, motivation, and killer instincts. He actually looked like a credible formidable champion there, one whom the challenger had fewer chances after feeling his fight in the first half contrary to how he undermined him the past weeks but the champion's real enemy turned out to be his stablemate buddy, and that's how Gunther found a way to sneak up the victory. This makes way for Priest to be involved in a substantial program going forward after this loss. Not so proud of how Gunther became the champ, but I'm all in for witnessing his masterclass reign with the belt.
@@theharv1490 The best match for me was the Women's World Championship Match. Exceeded expectations in the best way possible and I was amazed at how believable their fight looked. Was both disappointed and content with the Intercontinental Championship Match. I liked Bron Breakker's crowning moment, but overall it was nothing worth that much. Could have been a better match and longer than five minutes... Especially since I loved their first encounter I expected more in this one.
La vs Logan was the best match of the night, LA is just a goat when it comes to character based movement and character and selling. His moves are perfect for his character and Logan is just insane sometimes man. And Logan’s character work is great as well.
Damian Priest, Bayley and Sami Zayn won their titles at WM 40 but lose it at Summerslam 2024. Cody Rhodes is the only WM 40 championship winner who is still a champion today.
I’m happy that Roman Reigns title reign ends in 1,316 days not almost 500 days and I had no problem that he returned at Summerslam 2024 whether he is face or heel.
I loved this Summerslam. It was great to see Bron Breakker and LA Knight become champions, the storytelling was great and the return of Roman Reigns was awesome. One of the best Summerslams of all time.
It was predictable AF with the only exception being Drew McIntyre beating CM Punk but I'm glad to see Roman Reigns back. While I don't think SummerSlam was great I do think it was good.
I think considering Solo really hasn’t been on the main roster for a long long time he did a great job in the main event of WWE’s second biggest annual show, and he’s been real solid on smackdown too!
To be fair i think Triple H is experimenting still, its really his first year as the lead booker cause before Jan 24 there´s no way Vince wasn´t meddling sometimes, so there´s still some things that i believe will get better with time, like title changes.
I had a lot of fun watching it, but I gotta admit, every Bloodline match has me falling asleep until the last two minutes... y'know, the only time something interesting happens in the match. Lol
Solid 8.0/10 show: a couple of great matches - the fantastic opening bout which was my favourite of the event, loved each and every second of it and I was blown away by how believable their match was. Then the amazingly entertaining US Championship Match 🔥👌🏽 The Grudge Fight was really good, the Special Referee theme was put to use well and the issue was opened for the future with a solid storied action executed in-ring. The other two ups were the World Heavyweight and Women's Championship contests. The main event and IC Championship matches were just better than average and felt mediocre to the rest of the show. Apart from the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match, nothing really bothered me and I loved how the less is more psychic was utilized a lot in this show which always wins me. Contests were executed well, and personalities flourished in the best way, capped with some mediocre elements. Rounded off to a fairly great show in my eyes, having one of the mighty returns in WWE history.
I agree with everything except maybe with your assessment on Solo. I know ppl felt like Solo was a wannabe tribal chief and were down on him. Imo they're somewhat missing the point, Solo is what happens when an enforcer thinks he can be the don. Plus from what I hear about him backstage is that he is a true student of the game and the perfect kayfabe example of it imo being when he countered Cody's kick-punch combo. Upper-echelon guys like Roman, Seth, Cena, Orton that have faced Cody multiple times for years, have never countered that move to my recollection yet Solo does it in only his third match against him. And the way he did it spoke volumes cuz he didn't just strike Cody immediately, he simply caught the punch and locked eyes with Cody. Basically telling him, "I've studied you closely" or "That won't work on me, champ". Of course, I'm not here to say that Solo is main event ready right now. Like Roman, these things can take time, but what Summerslam if not this whole run since Mania did was give me confidence that Solo has a very high ceiling in the business. In other words, he swam.
Good Summerslam. I was hot and exhausted for other reasons, but I watched most of it. I saw a lot of things that's definitely building up for Bad Blood. Jacob Fatu sold his leg so good I’m still not sure if he hurt it or not
I loved most of it, I just think the main event was a little bit slow and it got overshadowed by Roman coming back. Probably top 3 or top 5 summerslam of all time, but not the best main event by any stretch of the imagination
