nah, post Survivor Series 2021 Raw to Vince retirement Raw (July 17, 2022 being his last official Raw until Raw after WM39) wasn't that good, but it was digestible and somewhat watchable, with meh storylines and decent champions, kinda like the 2015 of the 2020's so far, if that makes sense. Post SummerSlam 2017-pre Survivor Series 2021 Raw was unwatchable, outside of Seth doin his absolute best to carry Raw with his bangers until Vince ruined his character too, and that gauntlet match on the Raw before Chamber 2018
Raw from 2018-2019 was some of the most god-awful garbage in the last 30 years of the show's existence. The shoddy booking of Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar was pretty much in and out of the company, Raw and Smackdown in a war, etc etc. Also, the 3 hours of Raw was a pain to sit through. Thank God when HHH took over the book, creative had recently slightly turned the corner for the most part, for the better. Sure Vince had his quirks but the 2 matches that would have printed money would have been Rock vs HHH during the Attitude Era and Hogan vs Flair in the early 90's. Remember when Vince had Michael Cole repeat everything like "oh my", "here comes the Big Dog" etc? The commentary has gotten better since HHH took over.
8:08 I’ve been watching WWE since 2007, since i was in 3rd grade. Up to that point I had NEVER turned off or changed the channel because of a segment making me feel legitimately embarrassed. This raw still scars me
I wasn't even watching RAW at this time since I quit watching wrestling after Wrestlemania 33 and didn't come back until September 2023, but I just feel the pain in this video.
Funny how the wrestlers from 2016-2020 “WTF Era” were fumbled so bad that they are now the most hated on simply because they found SUCCESS & FREEDOM in AEW and can go and wrestle anywhere they please and perform at their full potential, Now all of a sudden WWE wants to knock down their “Forbidden Door” and collab with independent companies 💀💀💀
I think the worst to suffer from this was Finn Balor, his stock was so high in 2015-16 it seemed like he was the next big thing for the company, but the way they handled him in 2017 after he returned from injury, the absolute horrible booking of the guy who is more talented than most of your roster It still makes me so angry 😂
At the time I actually liked Raw probably because I loved The Shield. But seeing how good WWE is right now in 2024, I feel really stupid for liking Raw back then and looking back, it did have many bad things like Constable Corbin, Boring Tag Team division, cringe segments between Bayley and Sasha Banks, Drew McIntyre was a lackie for Shane McMahon, TOO MUCH SHANE MCMAHON! Man, Raw 2018-2019 was really bad looking back.
Imagine if Drew got the title match against Brock at 35 instead of Rollins. Could have made McIntyre instead of waiting a year and having COVID ruin it all.
@@richborn6700 Well, we can't really blame WWE for that. How were they supposed to know that in one year there was going to be this COVID-19 virus that would put the entire world into lockdown. Everyone wanted Seth to beat Brock at WM35 but I get that Drew McIntyre won the WWE Title at a very bad timing but he's going to get his moment eventually, I'm pretty sure.
Yeah since I see this video I realized how boring wwe was post 2017 WM until 2022. Since Mr Mchman might have gotten burned out due to how he was working in this job for so long.
2018 was literally the year i started watching WWE and i only remember the good parts only, damn i really saw the worst phase of WWE and now they are peaking again, the product is total different- the production, the character development, storylines, long term booking. They have improved alot
I didn't even watch WWE 2018-2020. I have absolutely no memories from that time, and it really left a gap in my knowledge when I try to remember what even happened during that time. The funniest thing is that I actually watched wrestling every day back then, but it was all either indies, puro or classics. Must've been a horrible time if I didn't bother tuning in lol.
I remember this period, it sucked big time, we would get the same stuff each week. SmackDown LIVE, 205 Live, NXT, NXT UK were better than RAW in 2018-2019, cause wouldn't get the same each week
Boy did they completely ruin both Bobby’s, Roode and Lashley. Roode could’ve been the next great original superstar. The Glorious persona and theme music was so fun and interesting. It gave off some Ric Flair vibes but also was very much his own.
It was such an unbearable era with VERY FEW good things. The good thing is, we're long past it. No more [redacted], no more constant last minute changes, no more atrocities (for the most part), we finally have a product we can watch without having constant headaches.
Its like they weren't even trying from Spring 2018 - Summer 2022. Like how can you have guys like Samoa Joe, Alister Black, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Ember Moon, Ronda Rousey, Bray Wyatt, & many others on your roster and book some of the most mediocre tv ever. Like why in 2018 - 2022 was Brock Lesnar, Golberg, & many other part timers winning multiple world titles? Mean while you had a stacked roster and yet they weren't given any opportunities.
The thing about WWE in 2018-19 is they had zero direction. All of the stars of the past like Taker, Triple H and even Cena were either part time or had absolutely nothing left in the tank. The entire crowd did not want Roman to take over and be the face of the company. They booked Seth so poorly, his run as the top guy fell on its face and they had no one to build around. The older guys were too old and none of the younger guys took the spotlight. They were directionless.
Absolutely the worst era of raw. I remember in 2018 watching it and saying how much worse could it get this week? They always out did themselves. Today's raw is awesome, and smackdown is most of the time too. The ppvs are all bangers. Once triple h took over it got 100000 times better.
I'd say the entire decade of 2009-2019 was WWE's Dark Age. PG completely gutted the E from WWE. I'd also argue the pandemic era saved WWE. It forced Vince and the company to experiment and actually try to make engaging storylines for a change in the absence of fans. Not everything worked of course, but when stuff worked like the Rollins/Mysterio storyline, Drew McIntyre's rise, Bobby Lashley's character revival and of course Roman Reigns returning and starting The Bloodline storyline. After the Pandemic era was when we finally entered the Renaissance era, although it took some time, WWE slowly took what was learned from the pandemic era to try and maximize the potential of their performers and writers. Learned what people wanted and actually gave it to them for a change. And the change was extremely noticeable once Vince McMahon first left before SummerSlam 2022, and the reaction when he tried to come back the night after WM 39. The Renaissance era was here and people would not allow it to end so early.
WWE from 2017 to 2019 was pretty bad. It was so bad for me that I needed to take a break from wrestling in 2019. But I'm glad that things have gotten better and I'm happy to be back into wrestling now.
Loving the 'My time is now' instrumentals in the background. John Cena's album is fire. Honestly from 2015 - 2020 i stopped watching WWE entirely outside of a couple of clips here there. I was so bored with the product though i did love R-Truth with 24/7 championship and Bray Wyatt as The Fiend and his partnership with Alexa Bliss. Broken Matt Hardy and Kofi Kingston as WWE Champion was cool too.

Ngl it's a good song I got the album when I was younger
I came to the comments for answers 😂 I knew that beat sounded familiar
At this time Vince McMahon had to realize that he had lost his creative juices and should have retired after 2016.
"The BiG dOg!!1!" I bet Michael Cole is so glad he doesn't have to say *that* shit anymore.
2010 to 2019 beginning to end
2010 new decade: show begins with Bret Hart, Vince McMahon, and Shawn Michaels
2019 end decade: show ends with Lana, Rusev, and Liv Morgan
Insane how far its fallen
@@officialfumofeltingchannel1490And to me 2017 was the worst for me
Cause Smackdown was a show I enjoyed for years
Even during the bad years of Smackdown, at least
I got to see Randy Orton or Sheamus or Daniel Bryan or Mark Henry
Now in 2017, you have Jinder Mahal AS WWE champion. Making top stars like Kevin Owens, Aj Styles, Shinsuke Nakamara and everyone else look bad all year
And not letting them build better feuds
And from 2016-2019 Raw had the worst segements of the decade candidates each year in order.
2016: The Old Day
2017: Bayley This Is Your Life
2018: Bobbys Sisters
2019: Lana & Lashely Wedding
The moment edge retired. It hit different
In 2019 it’s like yoooooo what was wrong with this company on main shows bro. I only tolerated this because the roster was big but still compared to those in NXT anyone other than Brock didn’t get much of a chance to be a ⭐️
I feel like AEW exists because this era of WWE was so bad.
Also people got released
Precisely and thank God.
I wouldn't say it was the cause, but it certainly helped build hype towards the product.
Ehhh I think if it wasn’t for AEW raw would’ve stayed the same just cause they didn’t have no competition
Man, I stopped watching WWE in 2014 or so, but I definitely heard about some of this stuff. It's honestly a miracle that the company is still in business.
It's good now though, Wrestlemania 40 was insane, even the announcer was choking up when Cody won
This is the year I stopped watching completely for a year. You know it’s bad when I skipped Wrestlemania
The Big Dawg Era 😭
HERE COMES THE BIG DAWG
Good God that always keeps me awake up at night. It was always so annoying listening to Michael Cole saying that especially during Roman Reigns’ disastrous babyface push. Those were very very dark times.
Let's just hope that this time, they do the babyface run right this time. Don't make him pander to the crowd, don't saddle him with cringe-inducing dialogue, all you need to do is keep him as a badass and most importantly, just let him be HIMSELF!!!!!
Eh i liked the big dog
@@KDB349I think you might be the only one. Besides children
I represed a lot of this from my memory, and now its back
When people talk about bad episodes in 2024, I just want them to watch a episode in 2019 🤣
Cody created ripples effect
The dark days, 2019 broke me and I didn’t come back until this year!
Im so glad you called this out, i maintain that wwe in 2018-19 is the worst era, even worse than the new gen era. They made no new stars besides Becky, and the shows were so bad that attendance was plummeting. I thought WWE was going to go under within a decade at the time, it was that bad.
When people complain about WWE today, i think about how its a completely different company these days. In 2024 we'd get Punk vs Drew or Cody vs Roman, in 2019 we were getting freaking seth rollins vs braun strowmam lmao
If you thought those years were bad you should have seen 1994 and 1995.
@@BiggieTrismegistus I'm surprised the company stayed in business even one year into that bullshit. I tried watching WM IX, 1993. I barely got past the first 2 matches. Michaels vs. Tatanka was too predictive, and the best moment I can recall was Finkle dressing pretty funny. Also, I've heard that the main event was just bullshit, so maybe I should just permanently stay away from watching it
When I think of 2010s WWE I grew up on, I now just think wasted time and potential of what could’ve been and what should’ve been.
So many fantastic wrestlers in their physical prime, all that talent wasted... Hell, people like to pretend Roman Reigns only became talented when he turned heel when this is far from the case. The talent was always there. It was just stifled.
@@EdenNeedsARUclipsHandle True. It’s such a shame. WWE could’ve been better years ago and the talent pool being younger would’ve created great content.
This why i appreciate the hell out of the raw shows we have today
I took a break from pro wrestling half way thru 2017 and came back in 2021, man did I miss a huge bullet.
I don't know how they did it but Raw in 2018/2019 was somehow even worse than the cursed guest host era of Raw.
@SamsarasArt I absolutely DESPISED Raw from 2009-2010, and yet they later managed to make two years worse than that!
It’s crazy how much of a downward spiral WWE went on after 2016, which I consider to be one of the best years in WWE history. Smackdown was amazing that year, better than RAW even.
However, 2019-2020 WWE was fun to hate watch. It was entertaining to tune in every week to see how bad it was. But I’m glad WWE is much better again.
And people have the audacity to call RAW these days boring
IMO Raw is really good right now. I don't known where those people are coming from
what Audacity Raw these days is boring as is smackdown
@@BiggieTrismegistus good joke
It is triple h gets all this praise but I think he sucks as a booker
@@BiggieTrismegistus 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Sneaking the Not Like Us instrumental in there, I heard those strings
These 2 years are what made watching clips instead of the whole show popular
Don’t give me PTSD man
NXT black and gold basically saved wwe. Without it, I'm sure more people would drop it
The only thing saving me during this time was NXT. Watching Aleister Black, Tomasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Undisputed Era and more was what kept me sane and a WWE fan through out this shitshow on RAW and Smackdown.
@@ScaryDusk25 NXT Adam Cole > AEW Adam Cole
I stopped watching wwe in 2016 and came back in 2020 I missed so much during this time some good stuff, some bad, some really bad I’m glad ur covering it
I gave up after Reigns went over at Wrestlemania 32. That whole card was like an FU.
Raw from 2017 to when Vince “retired” was literally unbearable to watch. Thank god for NXT at that time
nah, post Survivor Series 2021 Raw to Vince retirement Raw (July 17, 2022 being his last official Raw until Raw after WM39) wasn't that good, but it was digestible and somewhat watchable, with meh storylines and decent champions, kinda like the 2015 of the 2020's so far, if that makes sense.
Post SummerSlam 2017-pre Survivor Series 2021 Raw was unwatchable, outside of Seth doin his absolute best to carry Raw with his bangers until Vince ruined his character too, and that gauntlet match on the Raw before Chamber 2018
@@micahshaw5947how about 2023 to now?
@@elijahbruno2814 been the best RAW we've ever seen, at least since late Ruthless Aggression RAW
@@micahshaw5947 Completely agree. Since Cody vs Seth at Hell In A Cell I have that sentiment
NXT was golden around that time. Made me glad that I didn’t watch Raw and be embarrassed.
People who countinued to watch WWE during the unbearable era are the real ones. Respect.
8:08
I’ve been watching WWE since 2007, since i was in 3rd grade. Up to that point I had NEVER turned off or changed the channel because of a segment making me feel legitimately embarrassed. This raw still scars me
Not like us playing during the Roman reigns segment is gold
This was a comment I was looking for right as I heard it
bruh
These years of WWE is why AEW was created
As a wrestling fan who started watching in January 2023 this is my biggest fear the company going this bad again
I’m telling you buddy you’re lucky you started in 2023. I grew up on the bad era. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again
Yeah its on a heavy downward trajectory rn
@@officialfumofeltingchannel1490no it’s not, stop the hyperbole
It’s gonna happen where there are high there lows it’s the wwe cycle
@@ianperry9598 The quality isn’t good man it got nothing on Attitude Era
I wasn't even watching RAW at this time since I quit watching wrestling after Wrestlemania 33 and didn't come back until September 2023, but I just feel the pain in this video.
Funny how the wrestlers from 2016-2020 “WTF Era” were fumbled so bad that they are now the most hated on simply because they found SUCCESS & FREEDOM in AEW and can go and wrestle anywhere they please and perform at their full potential, Now all of a sudden WWE wants to knock down their “Forbidden Door” and collab with independent companies 💀💀💀
9:45 This only gets darker and darker when we think about Ashley Massaro.
The Guest Host Era from 2009-2010 and this period from WWE is some of the worst stuff I have ever seen in wrestling
These were definitely the dark times for RAW.
I think the worst to suffer from this was Finn Balor, his stock was so high in 2015-16 it seemed like he was the next big thing for the company, but the way they handled him in 2017 after he returned from injury, the absolute horrible booking of the guy who is more talented than most of your roster
It still makes me so angry 😂
At the time I actually liked Raw probably because I loved The Shield. But seeing how good WWE is right now in 2024, I feel really stupid for liking Raw back then and looking back, it did have many bad things like Constable Corbin, Boring Tag Team division, cringe segments between Bayley and Sasha Banks, Drew McIntyre was a lackie for Shane McMahon, TOO MUCH SHANE MCMAHON! Man, Raw 2018-2019 was really bad looking back.
I really think its bad rn without Rock
Imagine if Drew got the title match against Brock at 35 instead of Rollins. Could have made McIntyre instead of waiting a year and having COVID ruin it all.
Kevin Owens: "AND TRUST ME WHEN I SAY NOBODY. WANTED. THAT!!"
Honestly the Thunderdome era helped Bobby Lashley a lot.
2017 to 2020 most forgettable era
2022- 2024 .... still continuing,is best of modern era
2018 was literally the year i started watching WWE and i only remember the good parts only, damn i really saw the worst phase of WWE and now they are peaking again, the product is total different- the production, the character development, storylines, long term booking. They have improved alot
love the content man keep going‼️
I didn't even watch WWE 2018-2020. I have absolutely no memories from that time, and it really left a gap in my knowledge when I try to remember what even happened during that time. The funniest thing is that I actually watched wrestling every day back then, but it was all either indies, puro or classics. Must've been a horrible time if I didn't bother tuning in lol.
I remember this period, it sucked big time, we would get the same stuff each week.
SmackDown LIVE, 205 Live, NXT, NXT UK were better than RAW in 2018-2019, cause wouldn't get the same each week
Same. NXT offered something different every week in 2018.
Props for using the beat from “if it all ended tomorrow” and “don’t fuck with us” by John cena & tha tradmarc
I stopped watching around this time and didn’t start again until this year
Absolutely the worst era of raw. I remember in 2018 watching it and saying how much worse could it get this week? They always out did themselves. Today's raw is awesome, and smackdown is most of the time too. The ppvs are all bangers. Once triple h took over it got 100000 times better.
Stuff like this made the rise of AEW inevitable
I'll watch 2019 Raw over 2018 Raw any day. Baron Corbin as Raw GM in 2018 say's it all.
Only thing good in 2018 was reunion of shield
WWE from 2017 to 2019 was pretty bad. It was so bad for me that I needed to take a break from wrestling in 2019. But I'm glad that things have gotten better and I'm happy to be back into wrestling now.
So happy I was a younger in 2018 cause I don’t remember anything bad from then.
Thank god for Nxt and aew during those times
Man 2017- 2020 was so unbearable, im glad we made it through the era
Raw 2019 and WWE 2K20 almost made me quit watching wrestling entirely. Glad I stayed to see what would happened😮💨
them 2019 years were rough but look at us now
Loving the 'My time is now' instrumentals in the background.
As a kid watching during this time I didn’t really realize how bad this was. But good God man😭
“Ready to reverse the name, Lana” 😂😂 damn near spit my drink out at that 32:57
This is sad considering how well 2016 was with the brand split.
For some reason I enjoyed it more than 2021-2022. Literally.
Im glad AEW was launched around that time, That 2019 Hell in a Cell was basically free promotion for AEW and people jumped ship including myself
I actually loved that era of raw, its nostalgic for me because its when i first got into wwe and was obsessed with it
1:55 Hey, great idea! You should do an analysis of the crutches and how it develops into happening 🙌🏾
around the middle of 2018 i stopped watching WWE until January 2020 when Edge returned, been mostly watching every week since then.
It was the wwe from hell around that time.
appreciate the use of Not Like Us
it really looks like vince mcmahon stopped caring about the booking, i just cant wrap my head around how much wwe has improved within 5 years
2018-2019 WWE was just god awful the only blessing was that I started getting into NJPW so I had something to watch when I quit watching WWE
What they did to lashley from 2018 to 2019 was DIGUSTING
This was such a good watch, I thought it was so over for WWE around then. The turn around they've made post-covid will be studied.
13:33 sent me to heaven LMAOOOOOOO
This was honestly the worst period of Vince being in charge, even worse than the Pandemic era.
2017-2020 WWE was so awful it sparked AEW 😂😂😂 no but seriously I never turned off the TV more times, not even the super Cena run frustrated me this much
Started watching wwe as a child in 2017/16 idk and never knew why I stopped as I started watching it few months ago again
It’s so much better now
Super Kick Studious. He’s back. It’s been a long time!
Sami was very underrated with his promos in 2017-2019. He was a good heel in promo. It was just a terrible period of wrestling
Video idea for 2030 AD: "Raw from heaven (2022-2025)"
