    In 2011, after 7 years from the failure of the original Tough Enough, The WWE had the itch again, they wanted to run it back and attempt to bring back their reality TV show to a whole new generation of fans. It made sense, the company was in a much different headspace in the 2010s, they felt they learned from their mistakes from the first run and now it was their time to shine.. Spoiler alert. It was not! but that's why we are here, to take a look back at The Failure of the WWE Tough Enough REBOOT!
    Enjoy!

      I think the reason he was eliminated because he pissed Stone Cold off during the bottom three elimination deliberation. Matt asked for permission to speak and Steve got mad because if Matt wanted to be a WWE superstar then he wouldn’t be asking for permission to speak or play it safe during practice. Stone Cold stated that if he waited to be next in line or didn’t speak up then he never would have gotten to where he did in his career. The other judges thought he was too quiet in the ring and didn’t have much star potential, but I think if he didn’t ask to speak then he wouldn’t have been eliminated that week.

    The 2011 version of Tough Enough aired at the same time that the original NXT was on and using actual wrestlers from their FCW promotion. At least what came from that was the biggest "What If" in WWE history in The Nexus. I remember watching almost every episode and my overall memory was of Booker T being the softest judge out of all 3 and his harshest moment was when he helped pick a guy up during training and scaring him by saying "Don't take my kindness for weakness" Too late for that, suckaaaaaaaaa!

    The Miz is the most successful and has lasted the longest out of all the constants but Ryback and John Morrison also gathered a few titles and fans while in the WWE. John Morrison won Tough Enough season 3 and Ryback was in the same season as The Miz although he was eliminated by the fans, but still somewhat popular wrestlers with a fan base. The show just proves that it doesn’t matter if you win or not since a lot the winners aren’t very successful and leave after a year or you never see them again after the show is over.

      No one besides wrestling fans care about her response since Stone Cold apologized for his response and both, Alicia Fox and Melina, are well respected in the business and are talented at that. But yes, let's continue to shame a black woman for gaining interest in wrestling by seeing another black woman( and the only one at the time) compete.

    • @toddrickfrancis8860
      @toddrickfrancis8860 Год назад +1

      First off, im a black person, so I don’t see how race has anything to do with this. Second, the thing that really threw me off in the interview was when she started crying and Austin had to give her a tissue. Considering the last time I saw her cry was the Tough Enough episode and it seemed just as disingenuous like she was trying to make people feel sorry for her. Thirdly, the only reason people rag on her about the match is bc she’s participating in a competition to determine the next WWE Superstar, and when asked about her favorite match, she says a random match probably nobody even remembers that I’m sure since it was 2010-2011 lasted only 5 minutes.

    • @nichelleharris7496
      @nichelleharris7496 Год назад +5

      @@j.4867 you're right about there being a bias. I don't think it's in relation to race though. At least for most people. At that time it was absolutely seen as absurd that anyone would get inspired by a woman's wrestler who wasn't Trish Stratus, Lita, Chyna, and a few others. The truth is it really shouldn't matter what inspires anyone to pursue a career in wrestling. People have their favorites and that shouldn't be an arguing point. Austin was completely wrong for that display of gate-keeping and although he apologized the damage was done. Up to now people still shame her for taking an interest in wrestling because of that match.

    The best part of the video is when Vince slapped the guy and Stone Cold stuns him and just yells "YOU SON OF B***!!!". That part kills me.
    Also the part where says about the guy running "I thought he was about to fall over and I die, I haven't been so concerned of anyone running in my life"
    And also the guy who tried so hard running his tooth fell out
    This video in general was funny.

    All the reboot proved was how meaningless Tough Enough always was. UFC has the Ultimate Fighter and some of the biggest names of today won the whole thing. Anyone who has ever won Tough Enough was either let go with in a few years or never debuted. Only the losers have ever made it in the WWE.

    I've always felt that when NXT initially started it was like tough enough in itself but done right. I actually enjoyed season 5 and watching Steve Austin grilling the bottom 3 in every episode. He was like the Gordan Ramsey of Wrestling LOL. I also enjoyed seeing the cameos like Brett Hart and The Rock. Fun Fact AJ Kirsch want on to become Buzz from WWE 2K19. One of the best factitious wrestlers of all time.

      I watched the first episode of the Tough Enough reboot, and Stone Cold unquestionably showed the contestants tough love. He wanted them all to succeed, but he was strictly no nonsense, and told it how it was. If someone was performing poorly, he would tell them. I still remember one moment where he was having a one on one with one of the contestants, who was struggling, and she was getting a little weepy, and Stone Cold simply said "Tears won't help you here," and at another point told her "You want to know how many times I said 'please' or 'I'm sorry' to Vince McMahon? None."

      Tough Emough was on the air before Hell's Kitchen. Stone Cold is basically Gordon Ramsay cause he yells at the contestants a lot. But they shouldn't bring it back cause being a WWE superstar or a wrestler in general ain't crack up like supposed to be.
