If you ever wondered what time travelling would be like, this is it. The shop is gone, but the atmosphere and beauty that got captured in the painting will remain for a long long time.
That's a very nice way of looking at it.
Nice to know! Makes it even more magical
* Having a bad day *
"Hi, welcome to my next video"
*instantly feels better*😌
That beautiful blue shadow on everything takes my breath away. Love it!
My brain burnt down when you started adding kanji in such small scale so perfectly as if it was a simple brush stroke •_•
I collect drawings of doors in different cities, but your idea of collecting traditional stores is really great.
I like how the cool colours of the storefront allowed you to emphasize the warmth of the sign and the bakery interior. To me, bakeries are warm, inviting places and I think you captured that. I can almost smell the bread! :-)
I love the way you make details and calligraphy with a brush. I find that to be difficult but it might be due to my brushes being of low quality. The final painting looks beautiful.
waaaaw that's more than professional !! thank you for posting it make me happy
It is really beautiful. Ive been following you for years now and in my hustling and tired times I come back to your channel to release that stress. Im very happy youre still doing this. All the best sir :)
you art always inspires me to challenge myself and be more creative with drawing buildings/architecture as I am more inclined to character drawing
Another beautiful historic building now gone, so glad you captured its beauty in this painting. I think I’ve actually been to this shop back in 2003, if I remember the bread was devine!
Wow. I love your shops
So beautiful
The final look is so lovely, the stylistic choices and colors look so amazing. Your videos are so relaxing and inspiring, I love the way you edit them
I really like your style, I'll try to repeat it (if you don't mind) 😍
Thank you for giving me inspiration!

Wonderful!
Wonderful, thank you for sharing!
Awesome work as always man
So good. You techniques give life to the painting.👍
Love the details!
This is great Matt, you are a genius on this. Sincerely this is the kind stuff I want to see more. More pencil, brush and watercolor, hands flowing on art, instead of digital. More human, less machine. Regards!
Love this! Why are the various shops closing? Kinda sad. Thanks for sharing your art with us. I enjoy watching you draw and paint very much
I don’t know about this one but mostly it’s because there is no young people who want to run some of the traditional stores. So these close when the owners get too old to continue the business.
@@mattjabbar oh I understand now. It’s the same way with some stores here in America too. Thanks for answering.
how can someone this good, be so underrated??
Thanks :)
I'm excited to buy more art books. thank you for gracing my yt feed :D
Soooo goooooood!
Hi first of all your art is absolutely stunning 🤩
Hermoso, beautiful, you are My hero
🌻
So I love ittttttt..... >...
Brilliant work! Why did you use blue and teal for the shadows? They seem to be a reoccurring thing in all of your shop front series..
Japan has very dark, intensive shadows almost all day (especially in the summer). I like to represent them with the teal color which I just happen to like and I think it fits well for this purpose.
This is beautiful! May I ask which camera you use for filming these RUclips videos?
Love your videos😍so relaxing and inspiring! I wanted to ask which watercolor set do you use for your paintings?
Schmincke or Mijello Mission Gold pure pigments set.
@@mattjabbar thank you
A jak to się zaczeło z tymi sklepikami..? :)
do you mean you pencil, then light pencil, then fountain pen on the same piece ?
followed by watercolour in the end....
The first pencil (sketch part) is in my sketchbook. So only the light sketch and fountain pen go on the final paper.
So did they reach out to you from Polacy za Granica? 😬
nope.
szkoda ze nie po polsku , ale bez dzwieku tez mozna z wlasna interpretacja . Pieknie malujesz 👍👍
I try to use the looseness method that matteusz say...but my background turn out to become messy😩 does anyone have advices?
It's hard to help you without seeing your work.
@@lukaszpokoju haha...you make sense😅
It’s all about controlling the amount of “looseness”. Start from small exercises- like drawing a chair from many distances (like really close to you to far away) it will help to get the details and line right. 👍 keep practicing
@@mattjabbar thank you sir! Really appreciate it
How can you keep drawing with all the eraser rests lying in the paper, and don't blow them away?
I use a brush, but at this stage I erase a lot so I just don't bother so much.
Great piece! Do you know if clips of the show you mentioned available online?
As these is NHK - I hope it will be on their on demand service on day.
esta super bien dibujado, tiene ese ambiente Clasico de japon (*’∀’人)♥
