Nice review and what a beautiful book. I am especially attracted to the way he has drawn/painted each shop by itself. So many artistic details, so much character. The design of the book as a whole is enticing...I am impressed with the reasonable price. Thanks for showing this one.
I've been following mateusz urbanowicz for as long as I have been following you. The both of you have vastly different styles but I have both learned a lot from both of you. I wanted to get a copy of this book but it's difficult to get this here in the Philippines.more power to the both of you, you are both doing something great and beautiful so thank you 😊
I was always seeing his art pop up on things like Pinterest/Instagram but I never knew who the artist was. I really like his work, thank you so much for this! 💕
So excited to watch this review. You and Mateusz are two of my favorite artists on youtube. I really like his Tokyo Storefronts and Tokyo at Night series of watercolour paintings. I play yours and his videos every time I paint as well. :) Looking forward to your next videos.
Absolutely love his work! Purchased this book when it came out...ordered from Amazon Japan. Sat for HOURS studying this book! Actually....since. Have gun following you... see some of you i his work. The two of you have some similar characteristics. Oh well...back to trying hard. One day if i can paint like you or him..I will have made it!
This book is beautiful. I have never bought any art books but I want to buy it. It is worth treasuring. 😍😍 thank you teoh for this video, I never knew about this book.
Neat, tidy, safe, and uneventful. That's how they roll in Japan. It's very beautiful art that he creates! 😃 That's a great book! Thanks for sharing it Teoh.
Woah, I want to visit Japan (upon many places), but this books is just awesome, the amount of work that has been put into it . . .it makes you want to visit every single place. Again thank you for share such a great find!
I was so excited to see this review! I've been following Mateusz for a while now, and I would love to get my hands on this book when I have the money :)
thx for sharing... have been following Mateusz create the book on his channel... amazing work! Your turn Teoh... let me know when (and I'm happy to help with the layout and design) and I'll buy a copy!
Oh WOOOW I love his work and really appreciate the look inside his book. I have to have it now 😊 Didn't know it was in English as well. Every page looks gorgeous!
Bought this book recently (no problems shipping to Germany by Amazon.jp) - great book, great artist ! Agree with every word of your reception. Thank you and thumbs up !
Thank you for explaining how to use the Japanese Amazon link. I follow his channel and have wanted this book for ages but couldn’t understand how to order it.
Teoh, congatulations for your lovely channel and art! And thanks for sharing you knowledge! One question: what do you think of camera lucida for beginners? Thanks!!!
Amazon doesn’t ship out to Australia any more. We have an Amazon Australia sight without any descent art books available to us. So sad as this book is beautiful.
Thanks,Teoh! I started watching this video thinking "I will probably not buy this book", but the illustrations are so beautiful, the colours so well chosen, especially in the street map, no, in every painting and the best part comes in the end where he shows his painting process! I have one question/video idea: I see many watercolor artists using heat tools to speed up the drying process of their WIP - do you know if this changes the texture and/or colour? Do you get more or less blooming or granulation by using heat tools? Does it affect the colour - make it fade or even brighter?
Depends on what kind of heat tools. You have to be careful of hair dryer because the air is so forceful it can push water and paint to places where you don't want to.
Teoh Yi Chie thanks for the fast answer! Btw. I tried to order the book, but Amazon Japan won't let me log into my German account...I asked Amazon Germany to list it, too
Teoh Yi Chie thanks. However I have bought from amazon Japan as can’t wait. Thanks for recommending this artist, it is very useful for my painting inspiration
You can keep a photo and ISBN number in your phone, search for bookstores in Google Maps and visit them. Kinokuniya is a bookstore in Japan. I'm sure they should have it.
First found his work on Pinterest and loved it ever since. Where did you buy the book from? I could only find it on JP websites and shipping is really expensive.
I finally found it on eBay new, I am inpatient to receive it. Thanks for the review, it helps a lot to decide if it is a book that I would like or not. 🥰
You can find it on Amazon Japan. If you have an Amazon account in other countries, you can use it on Amazon Japan. For English webpages, at the homepage of Amazon Japan, go to the bottom to click translate to English. amzn.to/2usvTGP
Pronounce correctly Matz name is spelt ( Mat tay ooshh!) and hes 1 in a billion artist. I see him as a god in human form and his personality is gentle and all round good guy. You can order the book via amazon jp or simply go to his youtube page and find his info there. Be a patreon supporter and you'll receive high res images pdf and tiff files plus patreon video's of his latest work. If you pledge the 6 bucks you'll also get his FREE! Yuragi manga! was released only last week so be the first to see it! ;-) or you can download via gumroad.
I had to create an Amazon Japan account. It wouldn't let me login with my U.S. account. It was really easy, and not a big deal. I wanted to see how much shipping would be to the U.S., and I had to create the account to do that.
I thought it was too, so I was very confused when both my and my husband's login wouldn't work. I went back through the links on Mateusz's website and found a tutorial link about using Amazon JP. That's how I found out an account for Amazon JP needed to be created. This is the link. It is in Step 3. It also tells how to switch the language from Japanese to English, which I didn't know how to do. cdn.halcyonrealms.com/japan/how-to-order-from-amazon-japan-a-detailed-buying-guide/
If you have an Amazon account in other countries, you can use it on Amazon Japan as well. They will show you the shipping price on the last page of check out before you press the button to order.
My Amazon.de account does not work. Of course I can create one for Amazon.jp. But unfortunately than I have to deal with customs. Which in my hometown means taking one day off to deal with last centuries opening hours and religiously long lines. I hope it will be published as ebook or in Europe. I like Matteusz work.
Captivating book, I love his "Storefronts". Thank you

Does Amazon jp ship to the US?
Yes
