What an excellent idea, to use the tablet for coloring before actually using paint on paper. I'm going to do that too, having spoilt a few line drawings.
I love your videos. I hope to be able to work in such detail as you do. Plus listening to you narrate and watching what you paint, I get a feel of Japan which is very interesting!
The final piece is lovely, with all the gorgeous fabrics, and the colourful components of a bustling kimono shop. Beautifully drawn and finished, Mateusz!👏🙂
It always amazes me how much effort you put into every single illustration. It's like never ending learning process. That's why ur works are so unique. You're an aspiring artist.
This is beautiful! The drawing has so much depth, i'm amazed by your ability to tell a whole story in a single picture !! I follow your work for a long time now and I'm always admirative!!Thank you for your work and thank you for taking the time to share it!!
I really love your work and I really appreciate you showing your process. It has helped me a lot with my watercolors, one day I hope to be as fascinated with my work as I am with yours. Many thanks!
Love this illustration, especially how you introduced so much movement in the fabric. The story you created around and into this piece brought so much life to it. Really enjoyed watching and hope this becomes a print for purchase soon!
The final result was just absolutely beautiful, I really adore your works!! Have you ever thought about drawing something that's reminiscent of your home country?
Yes, maybe one day. But to be honest I'm thinking more about other European countries too (something like the backgrounds from Ghibli's "Kiki's Delivery Service" or "Howl's Moving Castle") 👍
Wow all this time I’ve followed you on Instagram a and don’t even know you had a RUclips channel. This is great. You’re the best thank you for sharing❤️🔥
i literally love your videos, i was seeking out from some inspiration to draw structures or something else, and i find your channel, so thank you for being a big inspiration for me
Beautiful work man. I just bought Tokyo at Night and I love your style. Your art has inspired me! Have tried to get Tokyo storefronts but the store I bought your other book from are out of stock and it seems like they wont buy in more for the moment atleast.
@@popflickbogeypoo Thanks for the information. I also found a french copy. Do not know french though. Im finding it very interesting to see what he says about the paintings. Im gonna keep looking!
I love watching these videos. The colours really bring the whole piece together. Are you using the watercolour brushes in ProCreate to rough the colours out? Beautiful piece and really looking forward to the next one!
@@mattjabbar have downloaded and will try out tonight. Thank you for making these brushes available for everyone to try! I’ve also bookmarked your website!
I think it’s better if we realize that it’s really OK to do things only for yourself and for pleasure. Most of my work comes from things I want to do for myself :) having fun is important! 👍 not everything has to “generate value” :)
@@mattjabbar yeah I know what you mean, I am not thinking of generate value in terms of money, but in the way in which if you draw and work with other people on a project, for example a movie or a game, you feel more enthousiast, funny, accomplished and fullfilled? As i Never had experience in working with other people, in a team for a project, How do you see it?? :)
@@axel9546 To be honest I still struggle with this. I liked working with other people but was not satisfied with the level of input I was able to do - maybe I did not match well with the environment or the projects, I don't know. For now, finishing bigger projects - like making a book or a comic - gives me more satisfaction and allows me to feel like what I did "mattered" - but I don't think it's a really healthy way of looking at my own's work.
Very nice. The old style wooden small house makes me feel nostalgia. The process is interesting and fascinating to watch. The kimono look more like yukata to me. (And that would make sense for this small shop.) Thank you for your imaginative work! (By the way, why 宮部, I wonder?)
This is so beautiful! There's really just something about watercolor that you can't get from any other media. Not sure what it is, but it's amazing. Also, which brushes were you using for your Procreate color test? They looked very interesting!
I also have similar idea people wearing traditional clothes as daily basic. Curently i am doing comic the characters wore traditional clothes in modern era somewhere in russia. Hopefully one day i able to buy Albert Kahn photography book as references...
I'm really in two minds about monetization still - I don't want to show you stupid commercials ;P I don't like them either - but apparently RUclips likes more videos that have monetization turned ON.
Lovely as usual! Am I the only one that gets slightly anxous when after erasing the eraser dirt is still on the paper? I have a strong desire to blow or sweep it away, but perhaps that is just me?
Watching you coloring the piece is quite therapeutical
Your choice of music is always so fitting.

Meditation.
New level coloring! 🎨
I love your videos. I hope to be able to work in such detail as you do. Plus listening to you narrate and watching what you paint, I get a feel of Japan which is very interesting!
You craft art that's so beautiful and tells a story. Thank you for adding your thought process in the voiceover.

I love this! All the designs you did for the fabrics are very creative. I think this is my favorite of your new storefronts so far! :)

it was so comfy to watch the process, please make more of this!
Great picture, very colourful, thoroughly enjoyed the process.

I'm fighting the urge to watercolor right now because of this lovely video (but my essay for class needs to be done). Must focus. MUST FOCUS!

The books are constantly reprinted and restocked. Maybe a bit late due to COVID :/
@@mattjabbar I hope I will be able to buy it one day ☺️. You have made me want to try out water colors. Thanks for the inspiration!

Waaa i'm in love
Verry nice style !
You have beautiful nails
Is this for a new book? I love the first one!
I would like to make this into a book, certainly. I have to have a lot more contents to make one though, so it will take a bit more time 👍
I love it. I already have the first book Where can I have the New Store fronts?
It will still take me some time to publish these as a book 📕
Beautiful work as always. What is the music that's playing?
Just some Jazz from Epidemic Sound. I think it's made by "Hara Noda" but I use other ones too.
I love watching these videos. The colours really bring the whole piece together. Are you using the watercolour brushes in ProCreate to rough the colours out? Beautiful piece and really looking forward to the next one!
No I'm using my own "sketch set" of Procreate brushes. You can download them on my website mateuszurbanowicz.com in the TOOLS section 👍

What do you use for sharpening the pencils?
A small knife 👍
👍👍👍. What screen protector you use for your ipad pro?
Just a cheap non-glossy (but not paper like) one.
I just feel drawing for myself only, not fullfilling, losing time. How do I kill this thoughts?

Also, do you ever sell originals or prints? I maybe intrested.
The link to the site where he sells prints is in the video description.
Thanks 👍
I wish you painted daily so I can use it as therapy...
「東京店構え」の2冊目は出ますか?

How long did you spend it?
About 2.5 days work
