So a lot of you have been telling me that one thing in particular on my Chaser is very illegal, and with all the policed car meets I go to, I thought it would be best to rectify that. So I headed over to @libertywrapz8056 to see what they could do, and later drove to @beaulieugarage2737 to rectify a few more issues with the car.

I love all the "extreme non road legal" builds around, but the value of having a 100% roadlegal car is underrated. I strive to keep my s14 within the rules and regulation in my contry, its not the fastest nor the most extreme car. But aint nobody stopping me!

Some advice or tip if you find a crashed GT86 the diff is a straight swap to the chaser and it’s an lsd diff
Vehicles first used on 1 April 1985 or later
The front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through. Thats from government website so its not illegal to tint windscreen

It's why some chameleon windscreen tints are legal as they let in just over 75% light

I'm 100% sure front tints are allowed as long as they let 70% (or more) through, didn't GCM and Owen prove this and rectified George's Focus with a new front tint that was legal.
75% is correct. Most chams are 76-80%
You are allowed a tinted windscreen but it has to allow 75% of light through at a minimum, it's recommended to only tint to 10% though, which is what most manufacturers do with that blue tint you see on some cars.
it's worth while as it helps with headlights and the sun
Factory glass can often already have a tint on it however

Well u r allowed tint on the front I just got red tint for the front window but it’s gotta allow 75% of the light in n 70% for the sides
Hi Adam just a thought with the diff, I have a 1jz crown and a common upgrade is to use a gt86 diff (lsd) with some new polyurethane diff bushes, I’ve done this myself and really rate it just an idea mate rather than rebuilding a standard diff
That manta could very well have been a genuine 400 narrow body! It had the correct 5 stud narrow wheels by the looks

Please Adam, lower balljoints. Have them checked and swapped! They are a wearable failing point, giving you the "boaty" feeling!

Hey Adam, because of a previous video you did with Liberty Wrapz, I spoke to Joe a few months back and I'm getting my lights tinted, badges dechromed and a sun strip added there...hopefully in time for your show. Allen's of Tadley? I live right down the road mate!
I would keep it as stock as possible. Then try to go 400+whp . But who am I to judge, I don't even own one

That front and side glass is already factory tinted so adding the chameleon tint over the too was far too much. Looks great now though.
You can have a chameleon tint on the front as they are legal ( as less than 30%). As for sun strip, a policeman can pull you over if it goes 1cm into the wiper area. However, the MOT tester can pass if lower but does not block the view excessively. Don’t be fooled by 20 cm.
And the MOT guys have the final say 👍
Had a bit of play in my diff for 7 years, I wouldn't worry about it mate.

i found the hotwheels chaser in asda so got one for my growing diecast collection
You need to get some underseal on that thing before you take it through a British winter
Or just wash the underside after each use

Adam if the back end is knocking on that car I wouldn't be driving it that fast cos you are gonna blow the differential

Thought you could do windscreen as long as 75% of light makes it through pretty sure there’s a police channel with a focus that they even said that I could be wrong

I'm not sure, but I like them dark
As a general consideration, most plods are oblivious of what the highway code is saying about vehicle road worthiness and requirements. They do love making their opinions heard, though.

Great little upload mate,so do u know if a chameleon front tint is legal or illegal? As I’ve asked local old bill and they said nothing is allowed on the front screen,but then a few tinting places say it’s a grey area but as long as 70% light is passing through it it’s ok!

Most chameleons are MOT compliant, as they are letting sufficient light through the windscreen to meet the requirements. Hence they are not really tints. If your MOT tester is saying otherwise, take your business somewhere else.
In general, police will say most mods are illegal. That's what they've always done. They're on a power trip .

It is legal, as long as sufficient amount of light passes through. Same as front door window tints.
75% on the front window is allowed so chameleon tint is legal as long as it let's 75% of light through.

Glad you got it sorted those tints are dangerous, I have reported the mot tester to DVSA as they need pulling up on putting an mot on that

My windscreen is tinted and it's factory fitted..... visibility is absolutely terrible in dark wet conditions.

Screen was illegal BUT you can have chameleon on the front screen
We drove to a newquay car show years back and got pulled by the local police. Rear windows the device wouldn’t measure, front windows 12% light.
We had to rip the front ones off. 😂

Looks like you can get upto 25% tints on front screen without getting collared.
However, not all OE glass lets 100% light through, so you can't assume that 25% is legal.
@@Technaudio Good point, surely it's best practice for a legit tinting company to test this before fitting one? Personally I'd be avoiding a front screen tint unless it was a very light one for reducing glare/sun damage to the interior. This has all caught my attention as the front side windows were done before I bought my B8 S4 a couple of years ago so I'm going to get it checked properly for peace of mind.
PpF your paint or wrap your car white protect the paint
The windscreen should read 75% , and the front doors must measure 70% your front door’s measured 38% that very illegal,, so your not allowed any tint to a front door of any kind 👍

You are, but some windscreen glass already has tint on it. So it's often not worth tinting.
Creasing myself laughing here. So much unnecessary work that had to be carried out that is the fault of people who profess to be people who love cars. That said buying a Chaser it is a good way to be a petrol head without making it obvious. To me a Chaser looks like the cars we had in the 80's. You could see your dad driving it listening to Duran Duran.

To be fair they hate tint on the front and front windows, if they get the chance they will pull you for anything, if it makes them som money ☹️

It not measuring light from outside. That's why there's two parts, you know... one light... one receiver.
The lights at the back looked better at the back before. NGL kinda a downgrade. Looks like every other chaser
