Also there's the fact that Sophist made villains/antiheroes out of Brent and Vern despite at LEAST having good intentions at the end. He reached the top in a dirty way and then found himself at the point where it tragically (but deservingly and inevitably) bit him in the back... but after that, he PROVED his worth by overcoming Zapdos despite Brent and Vern sabotaging him.
Nick being the false protagonist, Zapdos being a villian with an agenda and SOPHIST being the true hero were not what I expected, but god damn was it an entertaining video.
Sophist severed his friends limbs, made weapons out of them, and didn't even need them even after those friends intentionally buffed the enemy threefold. Truly the strongest trainer.
Vernias: "You guys are horrible people for beating up a Rattata". Also Vernias: IMMEDIATELY tries to steal Brent's Squirtle when he learns you can do that. The constant hypocrisy of this man will always be amusing.

Gengar is the meta in this game because almost everything uses tackle (including players) and the Ai doesn't realize that ghost is immune to normal. Also was anyone else hoping Sophist would get pikachu and jut keep shouting I CAST THUNDER SPELL?
Great ending. Sophist really deserved that win. Good strategy and execution. He could have cheesed it by using endless HP-up-Potions on his cubone though^^ Nice relaxing video :)
people constantly confuse the thing with his lines tail flame. they think "if it goes out, it dies" but it's correlation not causation. in reality, the tail flame just goes out when they die, it doesn't kill them when it goes out.

Magic the Noah once again proves the universal DM rule, if you have nothing prepared (Gyrados dlc joke), the players will try to go down that route, and if you have a lot of content prepared (the extra boards), the players will somehow find a way to extend the start of the campaign to the whole session

There was a pretty good pokemon system for dnd5e that existed a while back, but it sadly got killed by Wizards of the Coast because of an IGN article. The article is titled "This Unofficial Pokémon D&D Game Works Shockingly Well" if you're interested but you can't exactly find the system anymore without some work. There's also systems like pokemon tabletop adventures and pokemon tabletop unlimited which are a fair bit more complicated but focus more on being a "pokemon tabletop" over "a tabletop game with pokemon." Also y'know those two systems still get support since WOTC can't send them a C&D.

people constantly confuse the thing with his lines tail flame. they think "if it goes out, it dies" but it's correlation not causation. in reality, the tail flame just goes out when they die, it doesn't kill them when it goes out.

such game systems do exist. forget tis name atm. but they are pretty involved
There was a pretty good pokemon system for dnd5e that existed a while back, but it sadly got killed by Wizards of the Coast because of an IGN article. The article is titled "This Unofficial Pokémon D&D Game Works Shockingly Well" if you're interested but you can't exactly find the system anymore without some work. There's also systems like pokemon tabletop adventures and pokemon tabletop unlimited which are a fair bit more complicated but focus more on being a "pokemon tabletop" over "a tabletop game with pokemon." Also y'know those two systems still get support since WOTC can't send them a C&D.
