SUDDEN Rain Causes DISASTER After Car Show

This was the PistonHeads 25th Birthday at Bicester Heritage, which saw a great selection and variety of modified, classic and supercars arrive to celebrate the day. I turned up in my JZX100 Toyota Chaser to have a look around and capture some of the cars leaving the show, when a rain cloud appeared out of nowhere. This seemed to have had an affect on the drive home of a JZX100 Toyota Mark II and an Aston Martin DB9!

That crash happened a couple of cars in front of us, Aston was in the fast lane (just off a roundabout I think), lost the rear and rotated into the slow lane in front of the JZX. 😥
I was driving my mates Lambo so I'm glad I didn't get caught up in it! 🙏
That's what it looked like, I thought something like that happened
Yeah there's a small crest in the fast lane as you leave that roundabout. If it's wet even my 2.0L MX-5 will spin the rears, the Aston was clearly giving it too much and wasn't checking the road surface.

Thanks for the coverage Adam, wasn't expecting a post as you said it was more just filler for the winter months perhaps if you needed :) I haven't read the forums since a few days after the event but there was a lot of disappointed people on there. It could have been perhaps a bit better and also the awards ceremony happened while we were in the hangar oblivious lol. The content on the big screens was good. Came down from near Manchester for the weekend and would definitely do it again though. I think I may have seen the branding for what they may be naming it next😅

Being from New Zealand and Aussie, seeing a SS Commodore wagon in the UK was definitely an odd sight haha, the dude must've paid an arm and a leg to get that shipped over.

The Vanquish, their is a company making kits to put on XK Jags. I think that's what's been used. It would of been nice if you checked if it was Fibreglass.

Weird crash with the Toyota and Aston, I can't work out how they got into that position without more damage.
I forget if there was dash cam footage or if it was just pictures and a story. One of the owners said the chaser span out and pit manoeuvred the Aston.
@@user-ue6iv2rd1nThis makes sense especially given the fact they are just entering national speed limit. Probably floored it on the outside lane, forgetting to compensate fir the rain, lost traction and fish tailed the other car.
I'd love to see the tyres of the chaser. I guarantee they are very worn.
@@johnjohnhasabashat...2279 I've crashed a car like that but It was only me involved. I wouldn't necessarily put it down to bad tyres. Some roads can be like an ice rink due to the tarmac, weather, spills.
I thought "of course it's going to grip at 60" nope spat me straight into a wall and wrote off the car, expensive lesson...
The Aston was in the fast lane and spun in front of the Mark II (not a Chaser)

Problem with these low mileage cars that don’t get driven often. Probably had 10 year old tyres. You’re practically ice skating if the roads get damp. Check your dot codes if the car has been sat
The rain didn’t cause anything, bad driving caused it.

Looks like the Aston was at fault....
Aston driver lost the rear end and the Toyota could not stop in time

The "modernised" Vanquish looks worse than the standard car. Maybe it was cheaper to ruin the rear end than to buy genuine Vanquish parts + lights.
Every Vanquish I know is jealous of my rear lights. Especially as the Vanquish rear lights are so dull and boring. The original Vanquish lights were a last minute replacement for Ford Cougar rear lights.

We live really close to this site (and Silverstone) and have have two classic show cars. We've never experienced them separating performance/valuable cars versus anything else there - it's usually done by club or type.
I hope they're not doing that now. If they are, we won't go there anymore. Where would be the point? I doubt they (or anyone else) will care, but that's not how car folk work.
