It is old, but the question is the price for such an old car, as old as a LADA Niva, with a similar utilitarian / military purpose, but pimped with a V8 engine, costing ar least the same as the BYD.
I can tell you for sure reliability and longevity is far better, otherwise they wouldn’t offer lifetime warranty unlike Mercedes 3 yrs/ 36k miles. Only thing I can’t argue about yet is resale value until we see the numbers. Good day!

G it's a car designed in the 70's and updates a bit from time to time. But stil was designed like 50 years ago! The only reason they still producing it is that is became a status car and some rich individuals are still buying them. Head to head it won't beat a Duster.

These two trucks should not be compared its like comparing an orange to an apple. The G wagon is an ex military vehicle that has been sophisticated those people who want to pull up to a board meeting in a nice vehicle and still go off roading on the weekend. The G wagon sits with the big body range Rover, the Toyota land cruiser and its brother the Lexus Lx and Hummer H1. The right comparison for the U8 would be the Lincoln navigator and Cadillac escalade.

Ever since I was a kid, when all my friends loved the Gelentwagen, I never understood why this car was even needed. The exterior design is disgusting, the inside is no better, and it squeaks like a piece of bucket, and it costs like an airplane wing.... I can't say I like the yangwang in design, but at least it's not shit like the G63.

Mercedes probably would argue that the G wagen is built for extreme off road uses so the interior is 'sparse' and the techs are 'old school' which is very funny considering the price and the people buying the cars, who would probably never let the G wagen even touch a dirt. The Yangwang U8 offers the same toughness with even more power, top notch luxury, and all the modern techs, with a price different of a Tesla Model 3 with the G wagen. I still prefer the look of the G wagen but the rest of it, the U8 is far superior.
Exactly. This is a stupid comparison of two very different vehicles. The G Wagon is not a luxury SUV it is a proper off road capable vehicle. A proper comparison would be with a Maybach SUV, or Range Rover. The only reason they push this is because Russians can no longer buy new Western cars, so Chinese brands are being promoted. Ever since I was a kid, when all my friends loved the Gelentwagen, I never understood why this car was even needed. The exterior design is disgusting, the inside is no better, and it squeaks like a piece of bucket, and it costs like an airplane wing.... I can't say I like the yangwang in design, but at least it's not shit like the G63.

Mercedes probably would argue that the G wagen is built for extreme off road uses so the interior is 'sparse' and the techs are 'old school' which is very funny considering the price and the people buying the cars, who would probably never let the G wagen even touch a dirt.
The Yangwang U8 offers the same toughness with even more power, top notch luxury, and all the modern techs, with a price different of a Tesla Model 3 with the G wagen. I still prefer the look of the G wagen but the rest of it, the U8 is far superior.
