EXTREME DRESSER MAKEOVER- mid century with an Industrial Feel | FURNITURE FLIP

- This video almost never happened! I didn't know if I was going to be able to save these ones. I had to resort to some drastic cleaning methods (that I do NOT recommend you try unless you know for sure what you're dealing with)- this was a last resort for getting these clean.
Two days of work though, and these two pieces are unrecognizable from their former selves, and two more are spared from the landfill (which they likely would have been headed to, if I hadn't taken them on)!

I’m currently blowing through your entire body of work on YT, and every piece is just beyond belief. Thank you for saving these pieces! The original craftspeople would be thrilled, I’m sure, to see their work being rescued and cherished in this way.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. I think it's incredibly important to save as many pieces as we can. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed your binge watch! 😊
I would not have thought you could end up with these beautiful pieces. You are a true artist. I also love your voice. It's so soothing,
Yes I agree, great turn out, beautiful voice. I thoroughly enjoyed watching. It was very relaxing
I SO agree!!
A high build primer works well
I agree, her voice is very pleasant to listen to! She's so darn good at what she does and I hope I can get to her level of expertise!!
I just had to replay the end of this video to look at the end result again. I can honestly say that after watching about 10 different furniture flipping channels for two years these are my very favorite pieces. The wood finish with the mat black and great hardware make these pieces really stand out. Just gorgeous.
That Elm is amazing! You find the beauty that’s buried deep in some pieces. These are a prime example.
It's amazing how even the most seemingly hopeless pieces "transcend" into things of beauty under your magical hands. Bravo!
Whoa, I'm gobsmacked! Fantastic transformation, you're a fairy godmother with a magic wand. 😳🤗 They are beautiful and I love how much care you take, like Mike Holmes says, in making it right. In the olden days we were taught that if a thing is worth doing, it's worth doing well, so I appreciate your thoroughness and attention to every detail. Smashing. 👍😊
Again....gorgeous. I love that look of black against heavily grained natural wood.....so dramatic!
One more comment. I tend to be too honest at times. Hopefully that lends even more credence to this. I am in awe. You truly took junk and made into something just stunning. Amazing, beautiful, and a way to preserve, etc.You are my hero.
Unbelievable! I’m amazed by how well they turned out. That is some master level flipping right there!
You have as artistic insight into what these “worthless” furniture can become. Thank you. I am learning from you.
That wood grain is absolutely gorgeous. It’s amazing that someone would cover those up. They turned out amazing.
Outstanding! Whatever you charge for these pieces is worth it - they are incredible. Well done.
Another artful transformation, appreciating the wood its grain and its beauty. Someone will love the consideration gone into restoring these lost souls. Amazing work.
Wow! What a resurrection!
You are a furniture magician!😉
These look amazing! I love the different woods in the drawer fronts. Some lucky person is going to enjoy having these beauties in their home for years to come.
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤️ 🎀
I'm sure you buy these, haha!! I say it every time, you are simply amazing, I bow down to you...Seriously, you get me every single time!! How you make the pieces come alive again, the wood, doesn't even look like it has the possibilities, of turning out like it does!!! The whole piece, doesn't even look, worth, trying to save!! Fabulous!!!!
I was suggested another restorer's video at the weekend, all I kept saying was, "Angie wouldn't do it like that, OMG, Angie wouldn't do this haha" They kept filthy, full of fluff, well you'll know, pads on the feet of the pieces of furniture, then painted the legs, fluff and all........my pooch Harold, just looked at me concerned lol
So, yes, you are the best!! much loves, Jacq u.k
Hooray! You saved them. They turned out so beautiful, well done, You!
I rescued a dresser and Thomasville three drawer nightstand from the trash. It’s a revolution! ❤️ Thank you for another video. You did an amazing job.
I love all the different grains of the wood on the drawers. It makes these pieces unique. The choice of black Fusion is spot on. I'm loving your videos and an looking forward to your next one. Always a surprise ending.
Me too. The results are beyond beautiful.
Another “knocked it outta the park”!!
This is my absolute favourite so far! The black frame is the most perfect stage for the different wood granes: great job! Love it!
I love the middle drawers on the tall chest!!!
Angie they turned out beautifully. I've watched some other DIYers who do furniture. But you are the best. I love that you clean everything so well. Thanks for sharing your talent.😀
Yes!!! THE Best!
Wow!!! The different wood grains are amazingly beautiful. I'm always holding my breath for the final showing, lol, and then the "WOW" moment is breathtaking. I just love these kind of surprises under damaged layers. Kudos Angie!!
These turned out beautiful due to your hands. Not sure I would have brought them home! But you "fixed them up good". Thank you for sharing your talents. Great job!
I know you said you wished all the drawers had elm fronts, but I love how the different woods turned out. The variety of grains is super cool and suits your more industrial finish choice! This transformation is just amazing. Very elegant result with a vibe that (to me) says bachelor pad. Absolutely stunning!
I was thinking the same thing! I think they look stunning with different wood types. ❤
Thank you for sharing this project ~ I understand why you were hesitant. A true trainwreck transformed!!! Just gorgeous! I always learn so much from each of your episodes. Thanks again for all you do♡♡♡
Angie, these were truly a labor of love for furniture! Never would have imagined how beautiful they would turn out. Masterful!
WOW! The difference in the wood on the drawers makes this so unique. I love, love, love these! They look so high end!
Omigosh I LOVE how these turned out!!!
Imo these pieces now look BETTER than they looked when they were new! What a transformation!
You are fearless! Thank you, Angie, for always showing the good, bad, ugly and finally, the BEAUTIFUL outcome!
I love how much care you put into the entire piece. You actually make it new again. I actually love the way the mismatched drawer fronts turned out. Looks very cool that way.
Amazing, you never cease to surprise me with your Creations. Fantastic.
I am gobsmacked by how gorgeous these turned out!!! No wonder people were so sad when the elm trees died from the Dutch elm disease. Stunning. 🔥🔥🔥
The result is absolutely amazing! Junky, terrible pieces that nobody would want -- turned into stunning, gorgeous furniture. Awe.
Oh my, these are stunning! That woodgrain is crazy 🤪 ❣
So lovely. U hav inspired me to paint some projects in my house. Electric fireplace, barstool benches, and dining table. (Im really screwing it up, but its a learning curve. Each project gets a little better n better every time). Thank you
WOW! Seriously, this is the epitome of "trash to treasure"
Just love watching talented people who sees beauty in things the average person can't see.
I do this type of cleaning quiet often, especially when it comes to mouse poop and roach leftovers. I will use my air compressor to help dry everything off, so far so good , and no issues yet
The elm!!! The table I just finished had an elm skirt and leg. The apron had the coolest pattern on it. I would love to see more drawer faces with elm. Such a cool wood grain pattern.
Wow! You turned these two pieces that were ready for the trash into beautiful high end pieces of furniture. You rock!
I'm glad you rescued these items, even bashed up, they were awfully nice.
Magical!! Everything you do is magical! I appreciate your talent and love for these pieces! Thanks for not giving up on them! They are GORGEOUS!!
WOW!!! You did it again!!!! Those turned out amazing!!!
Wow...These are fantastic! This is why you are my favorite furniture super hero. Saving these pieces when others would not have bothered. Bravo!
Kudos to you for rescuing these from the landfill and having the vision to realize their potential. Not to mention the skill to turn your vision into reality. I really love the different grain patterns on the drawer fronts! 👍🏻
Thank you so much Joe!
Hard to imagine what they looked like before. Truly amazing!
They turned out spectacular! You outdid yourself with these! I love your videos. You explain things so well and in such a pleasant manner. You are my favorite flipper! Thank you for what you do!
You took broken-down junk and created outstanding 'Boutique' Furniture. Wow! You should be very proud of your accomplishments.
What a fantastic job it shows we all throw old furniture away when the right people can save them & make them look fabulous 😘
Looks amazing great job
Unrecognizable! I don’t think most would choose the different wood species for one piece, and yet it has such a unique look. Once again, fabulous job!
The combination of black paint with the nutmeg stain is beautiful! So talented.
Ach Angie you did it again. Blown away by the transformation. What a great job. And when you were applying the wax to the bottom of the drawers - that was just a thing of beauty watching the wood come back to life. Thank you so much for sharing. Bravo girl. AND you're not as old as me I'm betting - 51. I was a teenager when Ghost Busters hit the screens. Still love it.
Once again, pieces we all would have thrown out, you have made absolutely stunning. Those curved drawers are gorgeous!
Stunning work! I LOVE the contrast between the base color and the different wood drawers. You have inspired me to start using the paint/natural wood technique on pieces that are too far gone on the bases.
Unbelievable, from complete trash to the one of a kind beauty. What a pleasure to watch your channel.
Love your design sensibiltiy, thank you for saving all these wonderful things from the dump, and protecting the planet for the next generations. A lot of the old stuff was built to last, so thank you for honoring the intent, and being so careful and mindful of craftmanship.
Stunning. You’ve done it again. I haven’t seen a piece that I haven’t loved 😍
WoW Angie, that wood is crazy beautiful! Each drawer has its own look, as though they were all hand made. Who could guess what was hiding under that veneer. Together with all your repairs, they came out extra special.🌷🌷🌷
Oh man, that elm wood grain is swoon-worthy. Another amazing transformation!
Clicked faster than Usain Bolt....I'm always looking forward to your content,it's on fire 🔥 for me.thank you.
That was such an amazing transformation!! You always manage to to nail your projects no matter how difficult or challenging. That wood is absolutely stunning and those two drawers almost look as if it was done on purpose, coupled with the black is just gorgeous. You are a true artist!
Beautiful! I love seeing things that far gone restored to a lovely, useful life.
Amazing transformation! 😳 , and the different wood grains look so beautiful. Well worth all the effort you put into it.
I can't be mad at you for taking a hose to all that stinky rodent poo. Love the mismatching drawers. Hopefully, a buyer will recognize one of a kind character. Be righteously proud of this transformation- from damn junk to slam dunk!
I've seen another girl hose off her piece because it was just so dirty. It made me cringe lol, but it worked out for her. Thank you for another educational video. I appreciate your short but to the point helpful tips and bullet points. Thank you.
10 out of 10
Lady I don't know why you don't have more subbies, your work is absolutely fabulous! Wow! God Bless!
You have done an incredible job with these. You are one of only a few who restore not just the outsides, but the insides, backs and bottoms of your pieces. The first thing I look at in restored pieces is the cleanliness, neatness and attention to detail. You are a pro.
I can’t believe these are the same dressers!! You are truly a magician. Awesome awesome awesome!
I so appreciate people who keep furniture from going to the landfill. Thank you! Beautiful work too!
Thank you so much!
OMG woman you are AMAZING!! You transformed these pieces into works of art that will make its future owner proud. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Nice work. Buyers don’t always appreciate the sweat that goes into this kind of restoration. Every piece has its “surprises”. This one had a complete array of problems. Subscribed.
OMG! I just love all the different wood grains! And, THAT is probably why the original manufacturer used thin veneer over the top - MCM pieces rarely used that many different kinds and grains of wood in one piece. I counted 4 or 5.....that is a lot, but absolutely gorgeous! And the black totally sets off the stain color and wood grain(s), S o...W e l l...D o n e! 🤩🤗
I love the end result. I’ve grown to love mid century modern furniture
Phenomenal job for not having a woodworking background. You rock what you do, thankyou so much for sharing the transformations that you create. I think your workshop is a time machine for the furniture that you refinish. Keep up the fantastic work and Thank-you for sharing all of your tips and trick for the rest of us.
Young lady, you are so talented, you create a masterpiece out of old furniture. God bless you and I wish you the best of luck.
Just....WOW! I love how the dressers turned out. Not only are they clean and sturdy, but absolutely beautiful. The different woods make it so interesting! Those will last for a very long time with some very lucky owner.
You are absolutely brilliant, girl! What a transformation! Love watching you transform furniture.
My mother, who is no longer with us, was born in the Annapolis Valley, in 1925, their farm looked on the Bay of Fundy. Harbourville was just a walk down to the wharf from the farm. As children, we would visit my Grandparents every year until they passed. It was so beautiful, I have very fond memories of Nova Scotia. You live in a great province
Your passion to restore old tired furniture pieces is inspiring. Usually can't wait for the next upload.
Frieda, Cape Town South Africa
I’m rewatching the video because these are honestly the most beautiful pieces of furniture I’ve ever seen.
It’s an especially amazing transformation because the original interpretation was so ordinary.
You at least of these many “flippers” are sympathetic to the original piece and don’t just paint for the sake of it. Well done, lovely job.
Omg, Angie!!!!!!!!! No one would have believed the original state of these dressers.. wow. They came out better than any dressers someone could pay thousands of dollars for in a store! I absolutely friggin love these! Whomever bought these dressers are blessed to have them! If I did the kind of work you do, I couldn't sell any of my pieces, but I'd have to have more than my current 3 bedroom house! I'm serious, these were mouth dropping reveals (but then again, every piece you do leaves me stunned)!
Wow, that was literally trash to treasure. The woodgrain on the drawers was stunning! Beautiful work.
You have an incredible gift to see what to paint and what to merely stain. I would never have guessed those pieces would look so phenomenal. I bow to the master.
You are amazing I have never enjoyed watching anybody transcend Furniture before. Usually they make a horrible mess but you have tried to save the dignity of the furniture piece itself Thank you so much for your wonderful videos 😊
Love that you let the wood speak for itself.
WOW. You really changed theses dressers. They are beautiful now.
The two pieces were definitely resurrected. Just stunning!
So beautiful, who would think that it would turn out so Gorgeously ❤
Gorgeous recovery on those dressers...and I think the different grains really highlight the fact that all woods have their own personalities..
Thank you so much for watching!
Wow. What an absolutely stunning result. The contrast between the delicately toned and figured wood and the solid black is fabulous. The pair of them look like something you'd have to pay thousands for in some glossy home beautiful magazine. Very impressive, even more so when you think what you had to begin with. Brava.
Another very successful resuscitation of two dressers! They came out stunning!
I know you warned us, but I'm still surprised by how light the drawers turned out with that dark stain.
All I can say is - WOW!! This has to be one of your most spectacular flips. They are just perfect. Leaving the grain visible makes a powerful statement. Love, love, LOVE it.
These came out AMAZING! I typically hate when people paint wood furniture, but there was no rescuing these pieces without it, and they came out stunning! Excellent job!!
Unbelievable Angie!!!! This has got to be one of the all time best transformations I’ve seen on RUclips!!!! Well done!!!
I am in AWE of these pieces! I love the two-tone, black and lighter wood! One of my favorite looks. These might be one of my favorite restores that you’ve done! You definitely stand above all the others! Please keep doing what you’re doing. You are just an amazing person all the way around! Lots of love.❤
Thank you so much Kimberly! I really appreciate that! 😊
