    Another Marketplace find for $20. I actually didn't mind the color that it was painted in, but it definitely needed a refresh, so I had to strip it clean. I think the top originally had a shelving or display unit, which would explain why there was a big section of the top that wasn't painted.
    Let me know what you thought about this one, and thanks for watching :)

    Hiding the defects on the top by reproducing the groove pattern already present on the drawer faces and the legs was a strike of genius! Excellent video!

    I know the stop motion, multiple angles (while making sure you’re not blocking what you want us to see) plus adding and incorporating the same in a way that matches the sped-up parts… I know it makes everything take SIGNIFICANTLY longer, but it’s so satisfying and enjoyable to watch/listen to, so thank you 🙏🏼

      Yeah, I personally think maybe a darker stain would have tied it together better, but that's just my opinion.

    • @st0pitliz
      @st0pitliz Год назад +36

      Yea I thought the nautical theme was weird for the piece, maybe it's just the best they could fine but something black with darker jewel tones would fit a bit better. The dresser makes me think of mid-century cocktail parties somehow so I thought that would've worked.

    This is probably my favourite furniture restoration video. The wood is far prettier than any paint, that hardware came out gorgeous and the way you "hid" the defect on the top by matching the groove pattern is brilliant! There are many other RUclips furniture restorers that could learn a lot from you. Very well done!

    very creative solution to the damage issue! i like this piece, but i also think maybe it could use a darker stain on top of the existing finish in order to blend in all those different colored wood panels. they would have used toned lacquer in the factory to blend it

This piece I particularly would love in my own home. I suspect it and I are the same vintage 😂. But as a Mom and a quilter that uses rotary cutters almost daily....it is a push tool, not a pull tool. Andy, another stunning piece of work! Glad you are getting sponsors.
    I can see where you got your "creativity" to fix the top. The legs and the drawers gave you the clue. I would have never figured that one out. You are simply brilliant.
    You cut the fabric to the exact width, and allowed a little bit to the length. Just to avoid the problem of cutting the corners inside the drawer. Thumbs up on that one, I don't have that kind of patience.
    The fabric store had a beautiful selection of prints. Any one you would had selected would have looked very nice.
    I always look forward to watch your videos, they are a pleasure to watch. 🥰🥰🥰
