I love that, rather than trashing the paint job verbally and physically (lol,) you preserved a bit of its original personality. This is why I love to watch these videos. Someone uses an out of the box idea like using an old picture frame for handles, and then you can start to see so many other creative things to make handles out of...and so on.
one thing i absolutely adore about this video is that you’ve filmed it outside. the quiet sounds of birds, neighbors, the wind and then your precise work is so calming~
Me, now eyeing the busted dresser that's on the corner of our street: 👀👀👀 Seriously though this is amazing!! You brought new life to an obviously loved piece of furniture! Restoring and prolonging the lifespan of something that could've easily just been tossed out. Keep up the great work!! 👍🏻
A year later I’m watching with my mouth open in shock at the paint pull .. YOU SAVED IT AND KEPT THE PULL OMG ❤❤❤ Great camera work to btw it’s relaxing ☺️
I really enjoy watching you transform things from 'destined for landfill' to desirable furniture, you make things look easy (that I know aren't easy) and you film them so expertly and succinctly. And the unexpected laughs - the pointing hand was the one that got me today.
My parents restored old furniture to sell at our store, so I'm a little familiar with thr process. There were certain items that my mom wouldn't touch because she knew that they wouldn't sell. This would have been one that she passed by because she didn't have the patience to fix up laminate furniture. I love that you still see the potential that a little patience and care has on an old piece of furniture
The ONLY thing I might've done different is try to figure out a way to make the art reversible, as I also really liked the colors peeking through the black pains! I think both sides were beautiful, and it'd be so cool to have a piece of art that you can just flip for a totally different vibe depending on how you feel like displaying it that day!
I subscribed after viewing the first video. I love watching restorations of almost anything. But the gifts and talents of this artist are amazing. This is fast becoming my very favorite ‘watch’! And the little extra additions such as the lady bug in this video are so enjoyable. He is a master at filming and at restoring furniture. Framing the original epoxy paint swirls from the top of the dresser was also genius.
😂 suggestions are appreciated-humble Andy. The only other furniture restorer in your league I watch on RUclips is transcendent furniture and I guarantee she would see the way you do it and think I should try it like that. Another amazing everything😊
I always comment the same thing, but I just love how you save bits and pieces of wood, upcycle and reuse. It's a joy to watch! And your videography and editing is great. This video was fun to watch but it must have been a pain to remove all that paint😁. It turned out amazing!
1:04 That is one Groovy looking dresser, nice poured colours! 🕺 _EDIT:_ Giving the Groovyness a second life was perfect choise 😍 18:18 And the result is just amazing, so shiny and pure retro-new! 3:19 This part speaks to me so much.. 😍 I'm an art painter specialised in acrylic paints, and *nothing* is more satisfying than peeling that elastic shiny stuff off from surfaces.. True ZEN!
FABULOUS!! Thank you for sharing your amazingly creative talents. Not only was the dresser gorgeous, but framing the "paint art" was a delightful treat, bravo!! 👏👏👍🌞♥️
This was incredible from start to finish. Looks like a completely different dresser. And well done on using the paint as an art piece. Love all of this. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to your videos. ❤
There are many who work with wood but you are a true artisan. When you get done with something, it is worth what you ask for it👍. Cool what you did with the picture 👍👍👍😃.
I really love that instead of just painting over the damaged laminate, you applied a beautiful wood veneer and used wood scraps. Makes for a much more durable and timeless piece that can later be refinished if desired. Great job!
Love the makeover of the dresser. Love the framed "art" beside it. Love that you kept to salvaged materials. And I really love the video, the lady bug, the beautiful sun dappling, the camera angles, the sounds.
If you think this is bad you should see the desks in my school's art studio. I've taken to peeling the paint off and it's actually so satisfying. So many layers of years and years and years of paint.
The art teachers at my school blame the older students for constantly making them dirty etc, whilst it's the younger kids that constantly destroy the tables. Bsically: we're the ones that need to clean the tables all the time so we aren't able to peel off paint after a while, which is actually kinda sad
I felt like I was watching a professionally shot movie this whole time! The editing and cinematography is insane! Not to mention the obviously stunning furniture restoration. This video blew me out of the water. Truly top notch youtube content.
At first glance I thought « what have possibly possessed you to pick that monstrosity?! » somehow frame by frame the pieces started to melted, peel, sanded, veneered, new pieces cut and created finally a beautiful desk appears at the grand finale. I applaud you for your vision, plan and tremendous skills for the restoration and added a great touch of class. 🙏🇨🇦

The piece is awesome and looks so smooth! You made a modern, unrecognizable and pretty dresser out of almost garbage! Thanks so much for sharing
This is by far one of the coolest restorations that I've seen on RUclips. Use of the picture frame as drawer handles - ingenious. Framing the thick paint top - hilarious! Outstanding presentation! 😃

All the little bits of visual comedy, the attention to editing the audio as well as the video - none of it lost on us. Your videos represent creativity on every level and we impatiently await the next makeover. Best wishes from your friends in the UK.😊
As someone who has never used tools and certainly never restored or built anything, your video kept me enthralled. They are mesmerising. Thank you for sharing. This one is probably my favourite, you took something from an ugly duckling to a swan.
Love how this is so beautifully filmed. The shots look so clean and very nice to see (which can be hard while working with wood), but the ones with the flowers and ladybug etc also look amazing. You can clearly see the effort put in these videos!
Worthy, very worthey. Love the fact you took the paint you peeled off the top and turned it into a framed art piece. Genius! Maybe you could sell it with the dresser.
I’m sitting on my bed with my bright light cross stitching a Heaven and Earth design called Little Tommy Tittermouse. I’m 71 now and I suppose it’s going to take me till I’m 75 to finish it. I am also making a quilt and have 220 hst pieces sewn and need to do 395 in total. I do enjoy all the things you create. It’s so much fun.
The finish that the wax leaves on the wood is really beautiful, it always reveals the details of its growth process. That's why I bought the raw wood for the shelves in my room and polished them all with clear wax to make them natural and protected from the sun(bcz northeast Brazil is very hot).
When I first saw that dresser the only word that came to mind was YIKES. It doesn’t even look like the same piece. You did an amazing job with it. Bravo.
Absolutely gorgeous! The handles you made really finish the drawers off properly and I love the final colour. Watching you pull the top layer off in one piece was soooo satisfying and I love that you made it into an art piece 👏🏻

That turned out beautifully. And I love how you framed the sheet of paint that came off the top. It is actually beautiful as an art piece, and a great idea to show what the dresser used to look like. Good job!
I've never seen your channel before, but this video had my absolutely hypnotized! I love how you put the paint into a frame to preserve it's old personality while still restoring the dresser
Ahhhh the visceral satisfaction I felt as you peeled that top layer off was next level. You Sir, are the Gold Standard that other furniture restorers can only hope to emulate. As an acrylic & resin artist I was impressed that you took the time to frame it too! I remain, in a constant state of awe, with every video I watch ♥️

I have never heard Paul McCartney's name used cross-disciplines like this. This old Beatles fan appreciates it a lot.
Me, now eyeing the busted dresser that's on the corner of our street: 👀👀👀
Seriously though this is amazing!!
That's so sweet how you saved the original paint job!
I always comment the same thing, but I just love how you save bits and pieces of wood, upcycle and reuse. It's a joy to watch! And your videography and editing is great. This video was fun to watch but it must have been a pain to remove all that paint😁. It turned out amazing!
Totally agree
1:04 That is one Groovy looking dresser, nice poured colours! 🕺
_EDIT:_ Giving the Groovyness a second life was perfect choise 😍
18:18 And the result is just amazing, so shiny and pure retro-new!
This is most likely one of the most impressive transformations I've seen.
Plus the bonus of using the plastic type paint layer of paint was nice.
I really love that instead of just painting over the damaged laminate, you applied a beautiful wood veneer and used wood scraps. Makes for a much more durable and timeless piece that can later be refinished if desired. Great job!
Third time I’ve watched this video. I dont know, there’s just something about it so appealing
Love the makeover of the dresser. Love the framed "art" beside it. Love that you kept to salvaged materials. And I really love the video, the lady bug, the beautiful sun dappling, the camera angles, the sounds.
Thank you! 😊
Hands Down, Best Project Yet!
@@yaralaterveer my school's kinda the same haha. we blame the first years for everything and all the teachers blame us for not picking up after them 🤣
I felt like I was watching a professionally shot movie this whole time! The editing and cinematography is insane! Not to mention the obviously stunning furniture restoration. This video blew me out of the water. Truly top notch youtube content.
5:21 THAT TRANSITION WAS SOOOO SMOOTH MAN OMG
OMG i love what you did with the dresser!!! I especially like the handles you made, they really add to the design
It's beautiful. I love the drawer handles, great idea to use a picture frame for them.
This turned out beautiful, love that you kept the old paintjob and even framed it, it really looks like a modern piece of art
Góra Żar and Reksio souvenirs! yay, greetings from southern Poland!
Wow!!! What a difference.
I love that you kept the roll of paint.
8:27 you can buy a banding tool which makes trimming of the edges all smooth and easy it's a tool that you glide over the edge that you squeeze together to tension to the width of the edge 👍 I hope that makes sense lol
I really couldn’t believe you actually made this into such a marvelous piece of furniture❣️ That was the second appearance of a ladybug❗️Your effort in making a beauty from a beast is outstanding‼️ Best to you 🤩
At first, I couldn't understand why you chose this dreadful piece!... but when I saw the wooden drawer fronts I got it! The transformation was amazing! The wooden handles you made so beautiful! The piece is awesome and looks so smooth! You made a modern, unrecognizable and pretty dresser out of almost garbage! Thanks so much for sharing
The restoration was beautiful. What a film 🥰😄
The effort put into both the restoration, the cinematic shots, and the editing really shines through. Your work is amazing!!! ❤
This is by far one of the coolest restorations that I've seen on RUclips. Use of the picture frame as drawer handles - ingenious. Framing the thick paint top - hilarious! Outstanding presentation! 😃
You're insanely talented with furniture and editing and really entertaining. I love your videos!
The new veneer gives this piece a light modern look but it's the bold handles that transform it into a design exemplar. Beautiful work, well done you!
Your vision and workmanship are amazing.
I love your creativity with salvaged furniture bits and bobs
As pointed out by everyone already, you are a true artisan. BUT, you are also very playful…..and my wife and I love it!! All the little bits of visual comedy, the attention to editing the audio as well as the video - none of it lost on us. Your videos represent creativity on every level and we impatiently await the next makeover. Best wishes from your friends in the UK.😊
The paint that peeled off the top piece looks like something that one friend who never gets given a blanket would use as a blanket at a sleepover
As a cabinetmaker of many years, i was thrilled to see this project develop. magnificent effort. Well done.
As someone who has never used tools and certainly never restored or built anything, your video kept me enthralled. They are mesmerising. Thank you for sharing. This one is probably my favourite, you took something from an ugly duckling to a swan.
The illustration at 14:50 is such an amazing detail, very nice addition!:)
1:09 gotta be real I'd have an awesome day playing with the texture of that paint
Another stunningly beautiful creation. I love how you preserved the original paint.
First thought watching the multicolour furniture: that would be ok in the wall as a piece of art. Indeed. Thank you for all your videos, you wizard.
Bravo.
there were so many cinimatic shots, they are just so beatiful. This guy is really a genius with his camera
Absolutely gorgeous! The handles you made really finish the drawers off properly and I love the final colour. Watching you pull the top layer off in one piece was soooo satisfying and I love that you made it into an art piece 👏🏻
You're a madman as usual. Such a beautiful transformation. The way the world is, don't be surprised if you see the framed paint sold at Sotheby's in a few years.
your videos are clean and perfectly edited, your work is precise and perfectly done. it's clear how much love and dedication you put into this. it's a pleasure to watch your videos, i truly enjoy every second of them. keep it up, please x
That turned out beautifully. And I love how you framed the sheet of paint that came off the top. It is actually beautiful as an art piece, and a great idea to show what the dresser used to look like. Good job!
Great idea to frame the paint slab! It looks much better framed than it did on the dresser. Cudos for restoring this dresser.
That is really cool and the framed paint is a great touch. Clever
RUclips recommended this video. I didn't know I needed it in my life. Great work!
I've never seen your channel before, but this video had my absolutely hypnotized! I love how you put the paint into a frame to preserve it's old personality while still restoring the dresser
Making the handles made from the old frame is an amazing idea!! You never disappoint me Andy.
Absolutely GORGEOUS, so elegant, I LOVE the light natural wood colours, so soft to look at.
That intro was 🔥 .
I like your editing as much as your restoring skills
