It's been a while since I've done a makeover with painting involved. This headboard was actually 100% solid wood, so I heavily contemplated NOT painting it, but the grain wasn't particularly amazing, plus the painted look really gives it a modern look -- after all, the channel IS called Modern Makeovers.
Let me know what you thought of this one! I appreciate the support :)
Also, as mentioned in this video, I just opened up my merchandise store!! I'm planning on working on more designs that I personally love, so please check it out and stay tuned for more :)

When I was a teenage girl I used to watch my dad carpenting. I helped him a lot with his work. He passed away several years ago. Now I enjoy watching other professionals. I do love your work. The way you touch the wood, move your hand when painting, your attention to the details. My heart absolutely melted when I saw the handles and figurines of dachshunds. I had a dachshund myself. As someone else remarked, I just today noticed your ring and realized that you are an engineer. Your creativity coupled with that discipline explains a great deal about the quality and the simplicity of both your designs and your work. Also about your eye for detail, and your obvious appreciation of nature. This was to my mind the most expressive of your projects that I have seen. Using the headboard was really just a shortcut, not a makeover, and the outcome is all original. Beautiful piece of work! 💕🇨🇦

Not obsessive at all! Completely practical because wood is so darn expensive. You have all those straight pieces that you got for next to nothing - or free - that would cost a fortune at a big box store or couldn't find as usually you have to hunt and go through stacks of pieces to find one that isn't dinged, damaged, splintered or mangled. Love the design of this piece of furniture ... you are brilliant!

Innovative and beautiful transformation. I always love the production quality of your videos.
As to obsessively saving supplies- the only way that is a problem, if you never use the supplies, and you run out of room to store them. If you run out of room, you force yourself to go through the entire storage of supplies. You will find things you have forgotten, and you will re-evaluate what should be removed. Be ruthless with what you remove, so you have room to store things in the near future, that you acquire.
Our rule of thumb: if you haven't used something within 2 years, it's time for it to go. Either it wasn't impressive enough to stay in your mind, or it was going to be too much work to get it into a useable shape. Or that grouping of supplies was problematic in some other way.
After that: you have many choices in what you can to with those removed supplies.
*You can 'casually' assemble some storage boxes... or book shelves... or little tables.... The key is to NOT put too much effort into these projects and sell them at a low price point.
*You can gather up the better quality pieces into 'lots' and sell them cheap at Online Market places.
*The utilitarian pieces or low quality stuff, give that away.
You should really do this Storage Clean Out every two years, or every year, if your storage area keeps filling up.

Your up closeness with the camera is top notch. Your precise hand movements! The silence is appreciated, then comes Sound of a workman. Nice.
    Thank you for your channel.

Man, not in a million years I would get a straight free hand cut with a Dremel Ultra saw! I always use the top grip handle for safety. I can say you are an "expert".
Loved the t-shirt! Michelangelo would be proud.
The end result was beautiful. The handles gave the piece a very nice touch. My only observation: I would have added at least 1 shelf on the lower part. It seems to me too much space was wasted there.
I'm going to check out Temu for sure. Glad you are getting sponsors.
As always your videos are so enjoyable to watch. You are an artist. Can't wait for the next one. 🤩🤩🤩
PD: Saving scrap wood is a wonderful thing!

The end result was just 👨🏻‍🍳💋🤌 i like the dark wood accents and the handles were very interesting. I like that you’re trying new methods to do things. It worked out well.
